SueQiwi wrote:Hi from New Zealand. I would love to join your group. This is my first IVF cycle. I only just found out that I have fertility issues and high FSH levels. I am still trying to rap my head around that. Hubbs and I decided to dive in and try IVF right away so as not to waste anymore time as I am 38, soon to be 39. I am hoping for the best but am so scared my eggs might be bad.
I am on a microdose flare protocol and have been taking BCPs since April 18th. I start Buserelin May 12th and Peregon May 14th (sounds like the drugs are different over here? or maybe just different names?) My egg collection is scheduled for May 26th.
It's reassuring to read all your posts and know I am not alone. My best wishes to you all!

Hi Everyone, I hope you are all having a great weekend.

Prawnster, I am in Oxford so can appreciate your commernts about the rain!
The protocols seem to be slightly different here in the UK. I am also on Buserelin right up until HCG shot 36 hours before EC. Last time I had Puregon for stims and this time we are trying Gonal-F. Not sure of the reason for the change.

Good luck to all you ladies who are stimming....you are leading the way for the rest of us!

Good morning, Girls! Anyone have any exciting plans this weekend? I am making cupcakes for a bake sale and attending a surprise birthday party for my sister-in-law. Not exactly life in the fast lane, but nice.

Queenie77--Glad to hear that AF finally arrived...Good luck on your u/s and bloodwork. You are on your way!

LoveBug--I was sorry to hear about your terrible experience with OHSS. Hopefully, they will be able to control the process better this time. An FSH score of under 10 is considered good. So with a 5.6, you are in fine shape.

KYW--Happy Birthday! Perfect timing for a wish! I hope you have a fantastic time celebrating. Blow out those candles!

SueQiwi--Welcome! This is my first IVF cycle, too! We have some veterans on the thread who are very knowledgeable and helpful. Faith has taught us all to imagine ourselves as chemists (rather than cry-babies) while we are stirring up and administering shots!

IndieBlue and cwrj00--I have told my mother, sister and best buddy at work that we are trying IVF. They have all been incredibly supportive, kind and low key in this very early stage, but it occurs to me that as the process ratchets up, I will need to provide progress reports. I am wondering how I will feel about this later and if it was a mistake to tell. Thanks for your thoughts on this. I really like the "No one needs to be in your bedroom" statement.

SDTrying--Triggering Monday! Fantastic. My fingers and toes will be crossed for you this week.

AdsGirl--You visited Oradell! I can relate to the strange feeling of rattling around in an old house meant for children. The people who owned our home before us had 6 kids. Now it's just me, dh and two chubby, snoring cats.

Hopinginpa--Welcome to the thread. I am so sorry to hear of your m/cs. Having experienced one myself, I know how devastating they are. My thoughts are with you.

Rinnie--You've got me thinking...my RE said NO CAFFEINE AT ALL...but she did say decaf is fine...now I think I better cut that out too.

INFO FOR ALL--I read a book titled, Eat to Boost Fertility: Power Foods That Improve Your Chances of Getting Pregnant and Help You Overcome PCOS and Other Health Concerns. I don't have PCOS but thought it was worth a shot. The authors cite many nutritional studies and recommend: apples, apricots, artichokes, asparagus, avocados, barley, beans, blueberries, broccoli, buckwheat, canola oil, cantaloupes, carrots, cherries, cranberries, eggplants, garlic, ginger, grapefruit, lemons, lentils, mangoes, nuts, oats, olive oil, onions, oranges, peaches, peppers, pomegranates, pumpkin, raspberries, rice, spinach, strawberries, tomatoes (though not before anesthesia, cwrj00  ), and wheat.

Sorry for the LONG post. Enjoy your weekend!

Someone on the other board I'm on mentioned a drink/smoothie in the produce section of most stores called Naked Smoothie? It has a LOT of what you mentioned in your list of foods to eat (blueberries, folic acid....tons of stuff). I think I'll look for them next time I go to the store, they said they are somewhat expensive but tasty!

While I don't think that keeping secrets from family is the ideal situation for most of us....I also think that IVF is in essence assisted 'sex' and OUR family doesn't necessarily need to know that. We'll not be telling anyone (other than my closest 2 friends since I depend on them for so much LOL). It is a personal decision though, and I'm not close to my mother so it doesn't seem odd not telling her. Our situation will be a bit different, since most of our family does know that I have had a tubal....explain that! LOL

SDtrying Wow girl!! That's a lot of follies...looks great.
Listen, I'm a bad anesthesia person too, but they said they really do it lightly for the ER because they don't need you out for very long. So last time I felt fine afterwards & woke up pretty quickly. No Nausea at all.

Indie Yes, the company is called Naked..I even saw it at our Costco here. You want the Green juice...it's got wheatgrass in it which is really good for fertility.

ForMaggie I so want one of your cupcakes right now!!! :) I've been really good with the sugar, but damn...sometimes! Thanks for the food list...I'm staying on track.

KYW Happy Birthday!!!

SueQiwi Welcome to the board. Yes, a lot of our protocols seem completely different here. I have no idea if they use that spray here.
Menopur here is Repronex in England I found out. But it all leads to the same thing.... a BFP!! :)

turtlesonastump Good luck with the start tonight and those numbers look great!

LoveBug I just follow the Estradiol, so I'm not sure about the other numbers, but so much better than last time on the Est ! That's a good sign.

I am stimming away! I don't have a huge amount of fat on my stomach, so it starts to look a little worse for wear with 4 shots a day. I go in on Monday, the 6th day for U/S & bloodtest. I kept all my numbers as well from last time so it'll be intersting to see any differences.
It really is a bit like a science experiment.

Hello Everyone! Hope you're off to a great start for the weekend...

Karen - Hope you had a wonderful Bday! So excited for your ET Monday!!!

SDTrying - Look at you with all those follies! Fingers crossed for you, girl! That's fantastic!! And a trigger on Cinco de Mayo? Sounds like a great excuse for a fiesta!!

SueQ - Welcome to the board! Also my first IVF cycle...actually my first anything dealing with infertility...the women on this board are amazing, and I think you will find a lot of comfort sharing your journey with all of us! Good luck to you! I'll be sure to get you added to our list ASAP!

Rinnie - The pain in your belly will be well worth it once you have your DD or DS growing in there!

ForMaggie - Thanks for the food list...It matches most of what I usually eat anyway so hopefully that's a good sign! I read that soy should be avoided during infertility treatments. I asked my acupuncturist about it (went for the first time yesterday!), and she agreed. That will be a tough one for me to cut out of my diet, but anything for this BFP mission!

LB - How are you doing on the stims? Hope all is well!

We have told a handful of people about our IVF cycle...IndieBlue, you probably did the right thing keeping it to yourselves! Those that we've told understand our wishes to keep the whole thing quiet and they have all been respectful of our privacy and supportive ...They're really not asking unless we bring it up...even my mom, which is wonderful. I kind of wish my MIL didn't know...she keeps asking me about "how my thing is going"...DH wanted to tell her since I told my mom...so I told him the other day I'm not comfortable talking to his mom about it, and I think he was offended. Whatever...if he wants her to know the details, he can talk to her about it.

Anyway ... off to a wine tasting ... hopefully my last for a year or so!! :D Have a great weekend everyone!

OK, 3 pages since my last post?! I have some catching up to do!! So most personals will come later. I only have a couple mnutes.

So Ads: Thanks for keeping this growing list of women up to day!

SD: Good to see another double board poster!!! Welcome!! Congrats on that follie report!

OK, more personals a little later. I've been on stims for 2 days. Not too bad. The micorodose Ovidrel burns a little after injection, but I think I can take it for 8 more days for a good cause! Hope you are all doing well. I will have to get on here a little later to get caught up!

Hi Ladies! I hope everyone is having a great weekend. WELCOME to all the newbies! Since we have many women with a variety of experiences, you'll definately get a lot of support from this thread.

KYW - Happy belated birthday! Hope you had a great one. Enjoy your time off.

SDTrying - I'll keep you in my prayers for a trigger on Monday. Woo hoo!

To all of the ladies already on their 2ww, my prayers are with you. Here's to lots of BFPs! :)

As for me, I received my meds yesterday. Yippee! Although I don't start stims for another week, I like setting up my meds on my bathroom vanity.....I call it my little pharmacy (all I need now is a lab jacket). I have an appt for bw and u/s next Fri....if all is well, I'll start stims the following week.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, ladies!

2nd IVF - 3/08 - BFN
3rd IVF -5/08- BFP - THANK YOU GOD!!!

Hi Guys! Thanks for the birthday wishes! You have all been busy posting this weekend!

I did my own version of the fertility dance this weekend! If you count dancing to really bad 80's music with ridiculous heels on until 2am!

ET time is 2pm tomorrow (uk time)

SueQ don't worry about the high FSH, I have read an article (ghost has read it too) that states that high FSH is to do with ovarian reserve not quality. It may mean that you have less eggs to fertilise but they will still be of good quality. I have high FSH too - 18 at the last test.

Good luck tomorrow SD - will be thinking of you.
