Nic: You go girl! Natural birth....you're going to be the supermom! I had epidurals with both of mine, although with the second I probably shouldn't have....I was so far along I should have bit the bullet and just gone with it LOL My SIL has had all 3 of hers naturally and loved it, but not at home. There is a lady that I read her blog, she has her at home....she makes it sound so 'easy' and quick....I'm bad with pain though, so who knows.

Indie......I think mia is the one who is considering going natural.....not me, I'm an epidural girl! I don't do pain. My mother delivered me at home with a midwife and compares birthing to "shelling peas"! I don't agree, I think its nothing like shelling peas...LOL. I wish I could be brave enough......but I'm not.

LOL, that's what I get for trying to post on memory LOL Are you sure you won't re-consider though Nicaliw? Come on.....it's only a little pain! LOL

Well, Mia, good luck with that decision. I know it can be done, my SIL did it, my best friend did it....I know a lot of women who do it. I'm just not one of them :( The saline ultrasound was enough to make me take a pain pill....LOL, well it made me think of taking one, but I didn't.

I wanted my births to be spiritual too, but sadly when I'm in mega pain, I sort of turn in to the exorcist, complete with sailor trash mouth.....sorry dad! LOL So I took the epidural and was glad I did in the end. I had 12 hour labor/delivery (with both my bio children) and I made it around 4 hours without anything the first time, a bit longer the second time. I was actually 5-6 sonometers with my second before asking for an epidural...just because I didn't know how much worse it was going to get and wasn't sure I could take anymore.

Again, I applaud you for doing it. I am envious of women who do that, and I keep telling myself I'm going to do it if I get a BFP this time....but then I chicken out after procedures that hurt (Saline sonogram...LOL) and think there is absolutely no way I could do that :( Maybe I'll surprise myself :)

Nici- I am praying for you. Please keep us posted on how you are doing.

sonu- Oh honey, I am so sorry for your loss. Words cannot express my sympathy right now. Know that we are continuing to pray for you.

Indie- You absolutely crack me up. You sound like the kind of woman that I need to be around. You have such a great sense of humor. Where did you say you were from? may have to move there.
When I got pg with my dd, I said that I would have her naturally. I was so upset when I first found out that she was turned and they didn't think she would "figure" it out. However, she did.
Again though, would hate to keep things simple.....I had a low lying placenta and due to bleeding, I had to have a c-section  Oh well, I do have a beautiful daughter and it doesn't matter how she came out.

mia- I completely admire any woman who even considers 1.doing it naturally, and 2. doing it at home. God will give you the answers on how you are to deliver your angel.
I cannot believe you are away from your husband right now. You are a very strong woman.

Hope- I am praying for grandma Sassy. I hope that she continues to heal well, and that God would help release some of the pain. I am sure it will be wonderful for her to see you.

Well, we made it home from the funeral. it was a whirl wind trip. We had to rush home though, because dh was having surgery today....tonsils out and reconstruction of the nose. We thought it would be simple surgery and he would return to work tomorrow. NOT!!! They wanted him to take the rest of the year off. We agreed that he would take a week off and then return. While he is doing well, he is in a lot of pain The meds aren't doing any good, he can' tget comfortable, and he just wants to eat.
So, we are hoping that in a few days he will be feeling much better.
Nothing new on the fertility end. I still have about 3 weeks until we do anything. While I know it will go fast, it also seems to be dragging.

I went into work tonight and one of the OB docs did an ultrasound on me. At first he looked with the abdominal probe and we saw one perfect gestational sac that measured right on target. We saw a fetal pole and a yolk sac and all 3 of us (me, DH, doc) saw a heartbeat. Then he looked with the vaginal probe and said he didn't see a heartbeat after all. I wasn't looking at that point because I was already thinking we had definitely seen it. Now I'm confused. I don't know if there was a heartbeat and I don't know how crucial it is if we didn't hear one at 5 weeks and 2 days. I can't seem to get the same general concencus when I read about it on the net. Now I need to sit and wait, I might try to get in a lttle earlier for another scan unless I bleed some more.

Nicaliw,
Please keep thinking positive. If you saw the heartbeat, then you saw it.
My doctor told me that fetal pole(heartbeat) is normally seen around the 6w mark.- basically at aroound 40 days.
I can imagine your stress, but hang in there.
hugs,
smita

nicaliw--try to keep a pma--I know it's so hard, especially when you seem to be getting contradictory info. But like Smita said--you saw a heartbeat. I know someone (who did not use IVF) have bleeding throughout a pregnancy.

Lots of prayers are being sent your way.

Nic: Praying for you...so sorry that you're getting different information and for the spotting. If it's brown though, it's old blood....so something may have bled a little and you're just seeing the after effects of that. I know that for the first few months, anytime I did anything (even wiped too hard) my hoohaw would bleed a little. I have thin skin, so again...anything could make a little tear (sex, stretching, sitting a strange way to shave or have a hard BM). Just try to stay positive....easier said than done, and take it EASY!
