When will I have MS???

Post by nicaliw »

OK, I know this is a little odd but I'm wondering why I haven't had any morning sickness yet? Can anyone share with me when they started feeling nauseous???? Maybe its too soon yet. I can't remember how early it started when I was pregnant with my son but I think I had it by now. Anyway, I'm not truly worried, just curious! :D

Hi,

My m/s didn't really set in until week 10 and lasted until week 14. It was no fun! Not everybody gets it, so consider yourself lucky if you are escaping it!!!

Mine was about week 6-10. I never threw up, I just felt nauseated and had an aversion to many foods.

Even though it wasn't fun it was comforting somehow. Sounds silly, but prior to 12 weeks I was so paranoid that anything that reminded me that I was pregnant gave me comfort.

That said, I think a lot of women don't get it or get it much later. Doesn't sound like you're worried so that's good.

Hey nicaliw:

As far as I am along, to this day, I absolutely have not experienced morning sickness. So it became very difficult for me to believe that I was actually pregnant. Consider yourself blessed that you didn't get m/s.

I had absolutely no morning sickness, I used to REALLY WANT to be sick just so that I could feel pregnant, I was 20 weeks before I felt pregnant, but only because I was getting a bump.

Looking back now though, I am so grateful that I have had a pregnancy made in heaven and have been able to enjoy it all the way through.

I'm 16 weeks and have had no ms, either. I inquired about the same thing and everyone told me that alot of women dont get it. You may be one of the lucky ones, too. I was also hoping to get it and "feel" pregnant. However, now I feel pregnant and am glad I never got it. :D

I am pregnant with twins and only got sick three times. Never nauseated unless I did not eat enough...so hopefully you will be one of the lucky ones! I am now 18 weeks and never got it.

Nicali,
Congratulations on your pregnancy! You may remember me from a while back. Anyway, I'm thrilled to hear your news. As for m/s, I never threw up - not once - and from week 6 to week 10 I felt nauseated for a couple hours a day until I realized the way to "cure" my nausea was to eat something. So I would and then poof 20 min later no nausea. My suspicion is that m/s is our bodies' way of telling pregnant women not to let their stomachs get too empty. Anyway, I once I figured out to eat, I never had problems again.

That is until the hormone headaches started in. What helped with headaches was doing this in this order (which what my ob-gyn advised): 1) drink some water 2) have a little a caffeine 3) have some Tylenol 4) eat protein. The most effective "cure" was protein believe it or not!

Good luck

I am 21 weeks on Friday. Lostgirl

hey Lostgirl! I do remember you. Thanks for he good advice. I have had a few bouts of nausea now but nothing major. Thats so amazing that you're so far along already. Ever notice how other people's pregnancies fly by so quickly??

Nicali, Yes, OTHER people's pregnancies fly! But as you're finding out, one's own goes like molasses. But I have to say the second trimester is infinitely nicer than the 1st. Your energy will come back then and overall my mood improved. To say nothing of the risk of miscarriage plummeting at week 13. I wish you all the best.

Plus, in the second tri, I allowed myself to start having some coffee in the mornings when I want it. I always try to have just enough, no more. That's a nice treat. I also let myself get back into exercise. I walk. I swim twice a week. I run 1 or 2 a week. I try to do Gabrielle Reece's prenatal weightlifting tape. So far it's good. Some days I'm too pooped so I chill. But overall, I'm cruising along.

I pray that this pregnancy will be smooth sailing for you too. Stay in touch! Lostgirl
