Waitingformiracles: I am with you on the sports bra's! I have been wearing them for the last couple of weeks, and I feel so much better! I wish I had thought of it sooner.

So good news for me! I went for my ultrasound yesterday, and I got a bonus! 2 babies! I'm so thrilled.

Stephanie that is awesome! Congratulations. I am jealous. :) In a nice friendly way though. hehe We find out tomorrow, I hope to join you.

Nicaliw : Sorry that you aren't feeling well. I checked the online calculators and they said we shouldn't see a heartbeat until the 10th, so I don't think you should worry just yet. Yay that you have a baby in there growing. :)

I had my first real bout of M/S today. I am happy about that. Sad but true lol. I will not be eating progresso soup again for awhile, I can tell you that. Other than that not much exciting over here. I am looking forward to my appointment tomorrow. I hope we find out how many babies are in there. He wasn't clear on exactly what we are going over at the appoinment.

Steph, congrats on the twins, that is very exciting.

w8ing.....I have been really wishing I had some MS and either I ate something bad or I got my first real bout of it. Its actually the reason I'm sitting here on the imternet at 1am. Yuk. What a gross feeling, now I remember how it feels.

Good luck with your U/S today w8ingformiracles!!

Nicaliw- You're totally lucky! I haven't had any M/S at all so it doesn't feel real, but at 1 am...yikes!

Question for all: Are you aloud to eat chocolate? I have two pregnant freinds that go to town on chocolate. I was told "don't even have a chocolate chip", because there's caffeine in it. They both drink small amounts of coffee too. I'm wondering if it's because of my history or because of IVF or something.

I think the general concencus is a small amout of caffiene isn't harmful. The occasional chocolate and one cup of coffee daily is no big deal. However, I have decided to stay away from caffeine during the first trimester (except for chocolate once in a while) because its such a critical time of the pregnancy, what goes into your body in the first trimester counts more than any other time of the pregnancy.

1st US

Post by Mom2BeAt33 »

Haven't posted since the 2nd- so I'm playing catch-up

Nicaliw... thanks for that plotting site, the hCG thing made more sense to me as a line graph (I think that says all the wrong things about my personality LOL). Sorry to hear about your scare - but having OB docs at your work must be very reassuring.

w8ing... I'm with you, sooo tired. I think I'm actually sleeping more than my dog, and he's basically a 70lb rug. I work from home and it takes everything I have to walk down the hall, past the "O so comfortable looking" guest bed, to the not so comfortable office; and then I have to really focus so I don't Google every Baby/Pregnancy website ever created - I'm obsessed.

BTW- After your last post, I think I'm off of Progresso soup too - LOL

Stephanie... Congratulations!! I am so very happy for you.

And I'm relieved not to be the only one with 2 babies on the way.

That's right, we had a Trans-vaginal US today and there they were, 2 babies. We were trying hard to see their little hearts flutter, and then my Doc said "want to hear them", and the next thing I know, DH and I are listening to their hearts beating. They are both pretty much the same size measuring in at 5week4days and 6weeks. My Doc says those age measurements will keep changing and that it is really hard to get accurate readings this early in the game. She also cautioned me (a couple of times :( ) that viability is better assessed with an 8 week US. So that is my next appointment May 21st. Fingers crossed.

Mom2be......congratulations!!!!!!!!! Thats awesome news.....wow all these twin pregnancies! I bet you feel much better having heard the heartbeats. Makes me feel even more worried about mine though, I didn't see or hear mine at 5 weeks 2 days :? maybe its because the US at work is not very good quality.

Twins!!!! For us too. We didn't get to hear heartbeats though. It was too soon for us too Nicawli. We did see the two separate egg sacks and we have another appoinment on the 19th.

Congrats Mom2be!!!!! Yay for you. lol about the soup. I DO NOT recommend the Sausage Gumbo, other than that we will have to see hehe.

Morning sickness all day today so far, but no throwing up, just queasy. I can deal with that. :)

QOTD: I try to stay under a cup of coffee a day. I don't actually drink coffee, but green tea has 1/4 cup worth and I drink that or on rare occassions a diet pepsi which is 1/2 cup worth. I have heard that up to 2 cups are ok. I haven't had a craving for chocolate yet, so I haven't had to be tempted.

WHOA!!! All these babies in here! We couldn't see the heartbeats on ours either nicaliw. The doctor said it was no big deal. What measurements did you guys get? Someone said they had the same size. Mine were way different. One is 7.6mm and the other is 11mm! Congrats momtobe & waitingformiracles!

Congratulations everyone! I have been having computer problems but I was able to get it fixed and I am back on!

Nicaliw- sorry for use of initials. TS means a surrogate which is how we are pregnant. I am so excited to see all the U/S results. We don't go until the 15th so I am  praying for great results....My surrogate lives 4 hours from my RE so the RE handed my surrogate off to our previous specialist who is only about 30 minutes from her house. Our 2nd beta were almost trippled. I too didn't understand the whole due date calculation but now instead of the 15th the estimated date is the 2nd of January.

Hope you all are having a great evening!

SO MANY TWINS!!!!! I feel like an underachiever now......JUST KIDDING!

im4 clowns....I like your ticker, thats the first time i ahve seen one like that. Speaking of surrogates....I saw the movie about the surrogate the other day have you seen it yet? Its quite funny.

I'm totally confused about how far along I am. I had a blast that was 6 days old transferred on April 18th, so by my calculation the date of fertilization (ie 2 weeks pregnant) would have been April 12th....which is a Saturday. So I should be 5 weeks and 5 days pregnant ( I know my ticker seems to be off) but my nurse yesterday said I'm 6 weeks on Friday so I'm a day off. Why is this so confusing???

w8ing and stephj, I am so excited to have someone to go through the twin thing with. at least online....

im4clowns; I consider myself a very sociable person, but I find it hard to invite people into my privet life - I am so impressed with people who have the courage, and faith, to extend their family circle to include a surrogate. I sincerely wish you (and her) all the best in the coming months.

No MS yet, not even queasy -

OTHER THAN; the full (bloated) sensation (and look) I've had with the OHSS, my seriously sore new set of "jugs", the need to sleep all the time, the fact that I haven't craved bread, sweets, or chocolate for 4 weeks, that instead I'm craving dill pickles, tomatoes , bacon, and anything I can put ketchup on, as well as my complete inability to concentrate even enough to put the dishes away (dropped a glass last night and cut my foot) or cook dinner (DH finally ordered a pizza), I can hardly tell I'm pregnant  .

BTW- I'd love to show you guys the US images but I can't figure out how to attach them - any ideas

Mom2be...you crack me up.....talking about jugs....don't you hate when you get up in the night to go pee and it feels like you've been sleeping with someone standing on your boob on the side you've been leaning towards? It hurts! I'm not complaining though, actually very comforted by the symptoms, means everything is OK. I am so unbelievably tired. Yesterday I decided to stay on my car at my sons baseball practice because it was so cold. I can't believe I actually fell asleep for almost an hour. Wierd! I feel like I could sleep anywhere at any time right now.
Oh, and the fact that nothing (food related) sounds good to eat. I put off eating cause I don't feel like anything then I'm suddenly starving, so I eat whatever I lay my hands on first.
Hmmmmm...the joys of pregnancy. Oh...one more thing. I feel too fat for normal clothes and not round enough for maternity clothes. What the heck are we supposed to wear??? Anyone else have a bellye that sticks out despite only being 6 weeks pregnant?

mom2be- I know exactly what you mean when you say it's hard to invite someone into your private life. It was a really tough decision to decide on using a surrogate and the interview process was tough. but it was important to my dh that biologically he have a connection to the baby and since I couldn't carry one this is the next best thng. It's tough though as I don't have the actual experiences to draw on but I have a web site (where I did my ticker) that is pretty good and makes me feel like I know what it is like to be pregnant. I think I am even having some of the sympathy m/s, :D

Nicaliw- I really liked the ticker when I saw it. you can even use your own picture. I thought once we get the u/s next week I will use that picture behind the puzzle.

so have you all told everyone that you are pregnant? my husband has convinced me to wait until june 20th when we will be going into the 13th week, but it is so hard not to tell my sisters!!

im4clown- I told everyone, immediately. Ironically I was waiting, on my last pregnancy, and I ended up miscarrying. This time alot of people already knew I was doing IVF, so it was hard not to tell them. I think that's a personal decision you have to make. I know my mom always said you should wait, but more out of not making others feel uncomfortable if something should go wrong. I personally couldn't care less, so I told everyone.

Nicaliw-I was also wondering today if my beely was popping out or not. My jeans feel a little tight, but I can't tell for sure. I think in my case it might be wishful thinking.

Momtobe- I know, it's great to have you guys to talk to about this. No one else could possibly understand all of the emotions and side effects that we are feeling/experiencing.
