Love Bug I'm so sorry. Damn, we're really goin through it! The last 2 days have been hell. I'm in the same position. I pretty much took the PGD off the table, so now the decision is the same...3 or 5 day. My RE is super technical, which I sometimes hate, but he said this morning that he would advise a 3 day.
I hear so many conflicting reports...some doctors say that the embryo is usually in the fallopian tube until 5 or 6 days, so a petrie dish is actually a closer match than the environment of uterus.
Then other's say it depends on the skill of the lab.
Other's say exactly what you did. I am so confused!
My DH is concerned that I'll be a wreck after the 2 weeks & that 5 days would be a little safer.

Did you do icsi? Have you had dh's sperm tested, because it may have something to do with that. It seems like you had a good number of eggs. Good questions to ask your RE tomorrow.

I'm praying for us.

Happy Mother's Day - to those who are already and to all of us who hopefully will be soon!!

LoveBug - your Mother's Day message was wonderful, I am sorry things went south after that. I know how hard it is, my first cycle, the only one that I made it to ER - I had over 30 follicles and only got 1 egg. It did fertilize but arrested before ET. But you have a shot with 2, and as hard as it is, think positively that those 2 will grow. I am trying not to get ahead of myself and not think about ET until I get there, since I never have before, but I know how confusing it is and have heard so many different things about 3 v. 5 day. Hang in there!!!

Rinnie - sorry your clinic didn't listen to you. That's great they all fertilized so hopefully things will look up from here. Can't wait to hear what you decide as well with the 3 v. 5 day.

jharris - so happy things turned around for you. Best of luck with ER!

SDtrying - good luck with ET!!

Everyone else - welcome newcomers and baby dust to all.

I officially have ER tomorrow. I triggered with hcg this time, but am so confused because they had me do it in the stomach with the small needle, like the regular meds. I have always heard it was intramuscular. I have no idead what this means, but DH and I listened to the message multiple times and I did exactly what they said. I hope they were right - I have never made it past this point before, so I am just trying to stay calm and take it one day at a time. At least this time I know going in it may not work, so I won't be as shocked if it doesn't. I will be dreaming of eggs tonight!! I will update tomorrow. PMA to all (I know I need it!)

Good morning ladies. I hope you all had a great weekend. I was busy doing the family thing yesterday after my BW/US appointment, and church. My E2 was 2338 yesterday, and my 7 follicles were all around 17mm. So they told me to continue stims last night, and I went back in this morning for BW & US again. Follicles all seemed to be over 18!! So the nurse said there is a good chance the RE will have me trigger tonight. I took SD's suggestion and had them draw a target where the shot should go! So depending on my E2 levels today, I will get to trigger tonight, ER will be 5/14 and ET will be 5/17!! I'm ready to change shots! My legs, arms and stomach have had about as many shots as they can take!

IMBlessed: Congrats on starting your stims! This time might seem to lst forever, but it's not all that bad! Good luck!

LB: Good luck with your ER!! I should only be a couple days behind you!!

LoveBug & Rinnie: I am praying for you both, and sending PMA your way! We are all here for you.

SD & turtles: How are you doing?

TO everyone else, I hope you are all doing well. Talk to you later!

I have a quick question to those of you that have stimmed already. I'm on like day 11 (?) of stims, and today I have had an upset stomach and felt a little nauseus. Is that typical during stims?

Hello all! I had my first fresh transfer on May 5 and I am dying to know if it took. I do not have really any symptoms, however I an only 7 days post transfer. When did you all start feeling pregnancy symptoms and how soon did you get a positive hpt?

Went in for checkup on day 11 of stims. Of the 8 follies they first saw only 3 of them are good size. On the right they are 21.8 and 23.6. Are these too big? On the left I have one at 17.4.She saw some others on the right around 11. 5 but says she didn’t think they would catch up. She said my lining looked great at 12.1. I am waiting for the call about my blood levels.

Rinnie and Love Bug – Looks like I might be in the same boat as you guys with few eggs. I will be praying for your embies to do well. Hope everything goes well for you guys.

LB – good luck with ER today. Hope they retrieve a lot of good eggs for you.

Jharris – Alright, I am glad you get to trigger. At least now you know when. I can’t wait for my call to see what is going on.

4fanops – Hi. This is my first IVF so I can’t answer your question, but good luck!

Hey turtles: A couple days ago went I went in and they were saying my follies were under 13, I asked them then how big they were supposed to be at ER. She said they want them to be between 18 and 22. I'm not sure if there is a "too big" option. I haven't had that problem. But maybe some of these other ladies have? Your lining looks great though. Finally after having this estrogen ring in, mine has gotten back to 8.8. Not sure how good that is, but it is better than it was! I still can't believe your RE doesn't have you come in more often for closer monitoring. I have been in every day for the past 9 days! And there were plenty of other women I saw there every day, so it's apparently common practice at my RE's office. So what did your nurse say during the US? Did she say anything about a trigger date? Hopefully you will get your call early again to ease the waiting stress. I am praying for you girl!

4fanops: Most of the women on this page haven't quite made it to the 2ww. We are close, or some are just starting. I have seen several 2ww boards though, and the April/May thread has plenty of women with BFP's that can answer that question for you. Good luck!

Jharris - The clinic has a sample ivf schedule and it says you go in every day toward the end. I can only think that because I was so slow that I didn't go in so much. When the nurse saw my lining, she said beautiful. :) I asked how big it should be and she says they like them over 8 so you are good too. I so hope everything is good. I had such a hard time studying for one of my classes that I dropped it yesterday. It would suck if I get canceled or something. :x I am trying to stay positive and get work done for my other class. I have to come up with a project for my capstone course. I have an idea, but just need to find some kind of web page to build to show off the different techniques. I hate coming up with ideas. Anyway, enough complaining. Need to get something to eat and just relax.

Well, everyone seems to be moving along :) I'm starting Lupron on the 15th...this week...YAY!

I just stopped by to ask a quick question. I've been on BCP's since the 1st and I'm 'puffy' LOL My rings were actually feeling really tight this morning so I took them off, but now I'm thinking...should I have them sized up or is this just a side effect of the BCP's?

I know they can make you gain weight...but is it permanent weight? Or once you go off of them does the weight seem to go down to a somewhat normal size LOL

Thanks!

Hello ladies! So much to catch up on after being gone for the weekend!

IndieBlue - Starting Lupron!! That is awesome! I don't know about the puffiness on BCPs...sorry!

SDTrying - How are you doing? What's the latest? Good luck with your ET! I've been thinking of you...hope things are going really well! Take plenty of time to rest and let those embabies snuggle right in!

ImBlessed - Congrats on starting stims tonight!! I thought I was going to be starting stims today, and we would have been totally in sync. Unfortunately...not. I'll explain below. Good luck to you, though! I will be sending all my energy to you!!

jharris - Triggering tonight! Yippee!! Good luck!

LB - Hope your ER went great today. We'll all be awaiting the report!

Rinnie & Love Bug - Hang in there, ladies! Having fewer eggs than you imagined must be hard...but keep your spirits up! You have eggs and they may become your future DH or DS!

Queenie - one more week til you start with the shots! You must be getting very anxious! Hang in there this week...every day gets you closer to your BFP!

So here's my latest update, ladies...First I'll tell you about my weekend. I was with my parents (they know about our IVF process) and my brother (he has three boys and doesn't know about our IVF). He tells us this story about how he saw his ex-wife at the airport and she was "huge." She had apparently gained a bunch of weight since he last saw her (eight years ago). She apparently told him it was from doing IVF. He went on to say he's heard of people who "spend all this money on IVF, then it doesn't work, then they get pregnant anyway afterwards" and he swears that will happen to her. I started tuning out at that point and trying to keep myself from showing any emotion as he was talking about it. Then I hear him (I swear it was like I had left the room for a while, I had no idea what he was talking about at that point) say "they're wasting all this money on fertilizer" .... blah blah...I actually thought he was talking about their investment strategy or home improvement or something...so I tried to insert myself back into the conversation...I asked him what he meant...and he said "you know, fertilizer...fertilization..." I have no idea what happened on my face at the moment, but luckily it went right over my bro's head, and he had no idea. There are my M&D, DH and I who ALL know what we're going through...and just my bro who has no idea. I know he would feel like shit if he knew...and I know he doesn't even know anything about IVF...and he was just blowing off steam from seeing his ex-wife...but it was just so unbelievably upsetting to me. People really have no idea what it's like to know that you may not be able to have children.

So...after all that, I was pumped up and so excited for my visit to the doc today, because I am supposed to start stims tonight and have my ER just before memorial day! I went in, had three pokes until they finally (painfully) got my blood...but it didn't even bother me because I was so excited to see the doc and get started on the stims! Had the U/S...doc said my left ovary looked great...then I heard her say "oh"..."oh"?? What does that mean?? I'm looking at the screen, can't tell what the heck she's looking at...then she told me that I have two very large cysts on my right ovary. She finishes the U/S then tells me that we have to call off the cycle. Girls, I know this is hopefully only a delay...but I am so heartbroken and sad. I've been envisioning all of my eggs growing and thinking about being PUPO in just a few weeks...and now I have come to a screeching halt. I tried to remain calm, but couldn't help but start crying when the doc told me. I cried the whole way home on the phone with my DH and am now crying again writing about it. In the grand scheme, I'm on my first cycle, and I know others have suffered WAY worse and more frequent setbacks and heartbreak than this...but I was so blindsided by this, and I am just terribly, terribly disappointed.

Sorry to be a downer on the board today...but I wanted to share with all of you where I'm at. I'm going to stick around to support all of you, though...and celebrate all of the BFPs with you very soon!

Adsgirl - :( sorry to hear about your day and your cycle being cancelled...you seem to be focused and a good cry is needed - you will be back on track soon!!

LB - hope things went well! Keep us posted!

Rinnie/LoveBug - best of luck! I tried to catch up on all the posts since Friday and know you faced some hurdles but really really keep the faith! I'm thinking of you...

Hope everyone else is doing well...to all the stimmers may you grow good follies, to the retrievals may you get a fantastic report, and for those in the 2ww may it go quickly!
