Day 3 Post Embryo Transfer - Heavy Sneezing - Problem?

Post by baylorbear33 »

I have my IVF Embryo Transfer on Friday (5/9), so today is my 3rd day post transfer. I have had terrible allergies today and have sneezed many, many times... When sneezing, this causing me to contract my abdominal muscles, etc., so I am concerned that I may have affected the embryo's ability to implant into my lining. Does anyone have any thoughts, experience, etc. with this?

Also, is is normal to have mild cramping in your pelvic (uterus & ovaries) at this time?

Dear Baylorbear,

I don't know exactly what to do with allergies and blowing nose and sneezes. I will very soon start a treatment and I am also worried about that, my nose gets very congested and I don't think we are allowed to take any allergy pills while we are during the treatment :( I have found that a vaporizer helps me a lot to deal with it. I usually turn it on the whole night and put some salt in the water and it works pretty well, hope this can help you too!!!

All the best wishes for a successful cycle!!!
Take care,

The day after my transfer, I had a huge sneezing fit; like 5 or 6 hard ones in a row. I don't think this will affect implantation...one or both of my embies stuck cause I got a BFP anyway!
I had horrible cramping...I'm not a wuss when it comes to pain, but the cramps were so strong I was nearly in tears. Again, I don't think it affects implantation.
This sounds totally gay, but can you wear a mask when you go outside? Can you invest in an indoor hepa filter? You can buy them at walmart at reasonable prices. We have 2 doggies, but we bought a hepa filter and DH vaccumms alot.
Hope this helps!

hi baylor

please dont worry about your sneezing. its a question often asked (also, whether being constipated and therefore having to push can push them out) and the answer from clinics always is that they cannot come out. someone once described it as imagine they are in a sandwich. no matter what you do, they will either implant or not. so dont worry!

as for the pains, its probably your ovaries going back to normal size. that tends to cause cramping so again try not to worry.

best of luck for that BFP!!
