I am part of the progesterone ring study- I have a silicone ring that I insert vaginally and leave it up there for a week at a time. It's great- this is my 5th week with one in and no problems. DH says he can feel it this week, but I forget it's there. Speaking of sex...
Nic- I saw your question in another thread about sex and if it would cause a miscarriage. One lady wrote she was told not to have sex the whole pregnancy, another was not supposed to for 10 weeks. Uh oh! I've been having sex since the day after my first beta came back positive (and orgasms too). I was only told to refrain during 2ww. I could abstain, but poor DH! I'll ask the ob/gyn today.
chelley- I am in the DFW metroplex- my DH is a trainer too. He doesn't want me to exercise! He hasn't trained me once in weeks...I actually kinda fibbed about the running and told him I was "walking" with my friend...he said once he hears the dr. say it's ok, he'll believe it. He does think its different because it's IVF. Mostly, I'm too tired to work out anyway.
US at 9:15 am...I'm nervous and excited. I initially thought my betas were high and maybe twins, but after reading everyone else numbers, I think it's 1, but I hope all is well.
A few of you are having your ultrasounds today and I'm jealous! I still have a week and one day to wait. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you and would love to hear how things turn out.
becca...good luck today....let us know how it went asap, I'm excited to hear. Your comment about pressing your boobs......very funny....I do that sometimes too, but usually not in public....LOL I admire you getting back into exercise. I'm too afraid, I feel like I'll miscarry again if i do too much. I have vowed to start prenatal aqua aerobics though in a few weeks when I'm less scared about M/C. i know its not the same as running 3 miles and doing a spin class but I never did those things when I wasn't pregnant..ha ha....you must be super fit! nour betas are quite similar and I already know there's just one.....unless one is hiding.
Welcome chelly and congrats on your pregnancy! This is a great place to be, its definitely a help to me knowing that my worries and and fears are the same as other womens'.
Sweetmonkey....I have to give most of my meds up my crotch too. I also have the pleasure of the wonderful estrace and progesterone mix....lovely cream and blue mess. I take 1 prometrium and 1 estrace twice a day. I also put on 3 estrogen patches every other day. Those are no fun either, my skin is sore from ripping off the old ones to put on new ones.
W8ting....sorry you're feeling so puky. I have been lucky enough not to puke but the nausea comes and goes all day.
Well, since I was at work yesterday I cheated and did sneak a peek with the ultrasound. I didn't want to poke around with a vaginal probe though, just abdominally. The embryo is still there and everything looks like it grew quite a bit in the past week. I am SO nervous about todays really ultrasound......I just want to know everything is OK.

I hear what you are saying about exercies. I would love to work out a little but definitely couldn't handle a 3 mile run! I'm not that fit either! I also have the cream and blue mess! Quite pretty! Anxious to hear how your ultrasound goes.
So I had my 2nd beta and it came back over 4000! Uh, does that mean twins?? DH is so sure we are having twins, and I catch myself referring to my embies as "they"...sono is scheduled for may 29th...it seems like forever! As long as I see a healthy embie and possibly hear a heartbeat!
becca- where is DH a trainer? when we lived in DFW DH worked at 24 hours fitness the one in uptown...I think its a Gold's gym now. Now in SA he works at Spectrum but he's getting ready to start teaching at a local community college.
nicaliw- so comforting to know that you can sneek a peek whenever you want! I can't wait for the 1st sono!
monkey- I still have to wait 2+ weeks for my 1st sono...so you are ahead of me!
God Bless!

Hi ladies!
I'm back from my first offical US and the news is great! We saw clearly the fetal pole and yolk sac and we got a great close up of the heart beating away! The hearbeat is 115 bpm which she said is normal at 6 weeks (anything >100). I'm so excited and happy. I cried after and I think the nurses were puzzled......or maybe not, they must see a lot of hormonal tears.
The next step is to make an appointment with my regular OB and my RE will only be weaning me off the hormones.
Wondering how your US went Becca?????

nic-that is fantastic news I am so excited for you! I hope my results next week are just as positive.
chelly-that is quite a jump in beta. It sounds like it is quite possible you might be having twins. The wait for the ultrasound is awful. I have had my appointment for the last 3 weeks. I just want it to be next week already.
I've been lurking on your thread for a few days (primarily b/c I'm scared to say "I'm pregnant") but I wanted to see if I could join the group ? My EDD would be (knock on wood) January 15.
Becca.....great news on your ultrasound there. I'm so glad your doc told you not to do such vigorous exercise, I was a bit worried about you.......take good care of yourself. My doc said no vigorous exercise, just walking and swimming.....fine by me!

hey everyone! our first u/s is on Thursday at 10 am. we will be just about 7 weeks. the wait is just so hard!
it's great to read about nicaliw and becca's u/s. I am praying daily that mine goes just as well. I will make sure to give the results as soon as i hear from my surrogate. the dr. is supposed to email me the u/s...............
Congradulations JD! that is fantastic news? Definitely keep us posted we would love to hear how you are doing!
Becca-I'm so relieved to hear everything looked good today. You are lucky that you get to have another next week! I have my first one next week. Countiing the days.
nicaliw-would have to agree with you on the exercise. That will be the most you will find me doing! My parents have a pool so I think I will be stopping there everyday after work for a quick dip. I'm lucky they live less then 5 minutes from my work!
clowns-keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes perfect for you on Thursday! Can't wait to hear the good news.
SweetMonkey: I might have to try some new vitamins. The constipation sucks too.
Nic : I will now count myself lucky for only having to take the twice a day hormones hehe. You are so lucky you can take a peak at the LO. I would love to do that. I can't wait until Monday we haven't seen heartbeats yet. Congrats on getting to see yours!!!!!
Becca: Congrats on seeing your LO's heartbeat. Sooooo exciting.
Chella my HCG was done 15 days past ET and it was 874 and we are having twins. Crossing my fingers for you.
I have the best intentions to exercise, and then I am so tired after working all day, I don't do it. I think I am going to start getting up earlier and doing it in the morning.
7 IUIs all BFN starting Jan 06
IVF with ICSI ET 4/13/08
BFP Beta 4/28 874
TWINS!!!! Due Jan 3, 2008
chelly-my beta was 778 15days post ET. Not sure if that helps. I am only having one.
So I was quite excited today. One of the Emergency physicians at the hospital I work at wanted to know if I would be interested in having an ultrasound so that he could teach some of the other Emergency physicians information on how to see my uterus, liver, aorta, spine and kidneys. I said sure I would be happy too. So needless to say I have a confirmed yolk sac and fetal pole. Everything looks great I was told. I still have my ultrasound next week where we will just concentrate on the baby but this is good for me to hold me until next week!
