If this is the hour-long glucose test, you CAN eat the morning of the test. The truth is, the drink they gave me (I am in Israel, so maybe it's a bit different) was just super sweet. So it's annoying, but not overly nasty. It can make you feel a bit dizzy because of the high sugar concentration, so I was told not to go running around too much during the hour-long wait. It's really not that bad. They also gave me the option of mixing it with lemon juice to counteract the sweetness, but I just got it down without. I think the follow-up 3 hour test (for those who 'fail' the hour long) is supposed to be done on an empty stomach, but not the hour long. Good luck! Oh also, you asked what bothers me when I put in my lenses; it just feels like there are eye lashes trapped inside, it's that kind of discomfort. So I haven't been wearing them. I hope that doesn't happen to you, although it is nothing to worry about if it does (refer to what Tina wrote me).
Tina,
Thanks for the info regarding contact lens wear. A friend of mine at work told me her mom also had trouble wearing her lenses during her pregnancy. It's a good thing I got new glasses a few months ago! The old ones were not the right prescription. Anyway, you are sooo lucky you're not experiencing constipation. It's yucky!
Rebecca,
Good luck with your glucose test results. Let us know when you got your 'normal range' results

I'm feeling well today, if a bit sleepy. But, I drank some coffee a few minutes ago(I've been allowing myself a cup almost every day since my 2nd trimester) and that is doing the trick. I'm excited about my Jerusalem trip tomorrow. I could definitely use a break, as work can be a bit stressful (lots of report writing, phone conferences with parents, teachers, etc.), and I could do with some pampering. These 3 months are OUR time, ladies, let's take advantage, I say! Another positive is that after next week, I am down to three days a week at work. I wasn't really given a choice, and the truth is it's only logical, since I can't start treating a bunch of new clients and leave them hanging when I go on maternity leave (I'm a speech therapist). That wouldn't be fair. We could use as much money as possible right now, but I think the phasing out of work is best, as it can get physical at times (lifting the little two year old kids, sitting on the floor with them), and the parents are starting to notice me getting winded quite quickly. It's embarrassing when that happens

That's about it for now. Be well, mommas.
