Hi Nik,
Had to put an oar in here...We've also ordered a Jane pram (single though) as my sister has one and they are absolutely fab. We travel long journey's often so the fact the car seat goes totally flat is a bonus - new research my sis says, tells you for long journeys traditional car seats are not as good and more breaks are required - the added bonus is my nephew is sleeping in it at night as well as a cot as he hates the moses basket so when she is away from home, no travel cot etc needed. Apparently, it's also the lightest pram on the market too and is very neat...NOT only that, you can get it in bright red!!!!!!
(here, I should do sales... :D )
Hope all is well with everyone

Nik - re mothercare - I ordered it from the customer service number as was on to them anyway following up an item that never turned up and to discuss exactly what they think lilac is! You could get it from the net - they do a nice urban detour buggy but not like the jane
I can't get these jane's out of my mind - they are so fab and cool and absolutely the best there is - I do hope Fiona is right and they do a double - need a 2nd mortgage mind you! but can't seem to find one. Have my mother on the case - would have thought the spanish have twins too = perhaps a trip to spain
Anyay will keep you posted

Hi girls,

I've just phoned my sister as she has the Jane catolgue and she says there is a twin pram in the catalogue - but it's one seat in front of the other - it's a twin chassis though... She's telling me it's called 'Power twin' and it enables use of 2 'rebel' car seats but it's only available in titanium. the reference no. in the catalogue is 5069. She thinks the point is that you can use the chassis for either 2 new babies or a baby + toddler - you just buy the 'seats' to suit what you want.

Hope this helps...

Hi Tracey and all,

Have you tried the www.Jane.es website?

It looks at the moment like the English one is down but I've managed to muddle through the Spanish to find out that there are 2 twin prams:

Powertwin (3 wheeler like PowerTrack) - however, this is a tandem and it doesn't look like it takes any of the car seats for a travel system.

Supertwin (4 Wheeler) - Now this looks a teenie weenie bit odd. Its frame looks like a tandem, but the babies face one another into the centre of the frame. The seat (which fits the Matrix car seat) facing the handle bars is slightly higher than other which is in the 'normal' pushchair position (not sure if you can also have a Matrix here or not). So, imagine looking at a usual singleton travel system where the car seat slots on top of the pushchair but separated by height diagonally.

If this all sounds like gobbledygooke, and you find the Jane spanish web site an impossibility, let me know and I'll try harder to explain. (Nik & Tracey, I can talk you through it on the phone if you want 8) )

Having said all that, somewhere I do have a Jane brouchure but I think its in the study, so it may be a few weeks before I'll manage to dig it out! I got it from our local baby shop so if you find a Jane supplier, you maybe able to get one too.

Good Luck searching those with twinnie bumps and hi to Nicky and Jules, hugs to Ross, Rebecca, Charlotte and Daniel

 Zoe - we were posting the same time then!!

Interesting the web site doesn't mention the PowerTwin in the characteristics of the car seats and yet does mention the SuperTwin - now there is consistant marketing for you!!!

Hi Zoe and Fiona

Thanks!! I've checked out the Spanish website (wish I'd done GCSE Spanish now!), I managed to find the pictures - very helpful. The twin ones look a bit wierd. They are not as nice as the single ones!! I'd read somewhere that tandem weren't good from birth because they dont' both lie flat! Ideally I wanted a double chassis that you could attach a double carrycot.

For anyone else having a nightmare finding a double pram (that is nice!), the only other solution I've found is the mountain buggy one. This seems to do the job. I've not seen one, other than on the internet, so if anyone has any recommendations let me know.

Maybe I'll post another thread. Its such a bugger! There are so many lovely single prams/pushchairs and when you ask to see the twin range - there is normally some comedy effort that you dont' like!

Thanks for your help Zoe and Fi!

You'll have to come down here to Sussex to look at all the twin pushchairs on offer at the specialist twin pushchair shop in Haywards Heath. I know it's a long way but I can even loan you some twins to try out in all the pushchairs!

Seriously, it was really useful to be able to try out several pushchairs rather than just look at them on the internet.

hi Jules

You'd think there would be more specialist twin/multiple shops given one in four couples have to have fertility tmt which obviously increases the risk of multiple births

I know what you mean about needing to try them out. I've seen pictures of single pushchairs that look lovely (espcially in the Mamas and Papas catalogue - with the man/woman in designer clothes, clearly never been anywhere near a baby in their lives let alone had sick over them!!!), but I digress.......they look lovely in the brochure but when you see them in a shop, they look cheap and nasty, or about as sturdy as a jelly!

The pram/pushchair is probably the biggest and most important investment, you have to get it right. You want the babies to be comfortable. Most of the twin buggies I've seen I wouldn't put Arthur and Jeremy in there let alone a newborn or potential prem baby!!

When I pointed this out to the woman in one shop, she said well you can get a nice trendy footmuff to put them in - its all right having warm feet, its not going to be much bloody use to a little baby being pushed around the Yorkshire Moors! Honestly.

Winge over!

Thanks for all the help - will check out the website again - my spanish should survive - I hope! My friend has the new catalogue and is trying to find it - she has the jane - powertrak and loves it. We have a store near us in leicester where I was going to get one for Oliver and one near Mum in Ashbourne -s he is dying to get in there and one in Nottingham so I will keep you posted. If all else fails then My dad goes over to BArcelona regularly and could get them over on the plane - he will probably shoot me for this but they take around 18 weeks to order!
Jules thanks re the advice and loan of the twins - what if they put us off?
Love

Oh Tracey I'm so offended that you think my two angels would put you off (not)! You should have seen them as babies - Charlotte was a complete angel and just a perfect baby (very boring really) and Daniel wasn't far behind. But now they are typical toddlers - they'll be 2 two months today, which is very scary - so I suppose they could worry you a bit about what's to come. But they're available for hire anytime you want a reality check, and at very reasonable rates too!
