Joe- 2nd beta @ 14dp3dt is 874. I found the following excerpt from a study done on 322 women going through IVF. See the hcg numbers for the multiple births below:

For the 89 women who had multiple births, average [beta]-HCG levels were 348 mIU/mL on day 16 and 798 mIU/mL on day 18. Their average slope, 220 mIU/mL, was reported as 9.16 times higher than the slope in patients who did not have a fetal heart beat at the end of the first trimester.

Thanks Sameera, I hope we all can share our experiences over the next 8 or so months.

Happy Mommies Day to all as you all are awesome.

Today was one of the first times that really started to make this experience set in. So far for myself I have been the medication giver and my DW is in excellent hands as I am an ex nurse with a highly trained background in allergy/immunization, but the shots still hurt sometimes. Friday the 9th of May I knew something was up as the DW called me up and was bent out of shape about a situation that would normally of been like nothing. Normally she is really mild mannered and I knew this wasn't the norm. Today she did not feel well and the nausea kicked in. We have been talking and this is the first of the mood swings and nausea. I now know things are really starting to kick in. Being the DH can be a very detached experience as we are not the ones having our bodies poked and our children growing inside of us.

I am speaking out for the DH's out there as I know that all of us going through this it is an amazing experience and a roller coaster ride we will never forget.

Happy Mommies Day......

Joe :D

My mommies day was beautiful - couldn't have asked for more!!

I got a nice warm breakfast in bed, a nice pearl necklace/bracelet/earrings set picked by my lovely little daughter.

She made me a wonderful card - I was pleased with everything!

Best Mommies day ever!! :)

Hope you'll had a great day too!

Joe- Did you ever find out if you guys are having twins?

I went in today to have a culture, and my RE asked if i wanted to go ahead and have a u/s a week early. I said, heck yeah!!! I have two sacs, but only one heartbeat...I will be 6 weeks tomorrow.

Sameera- I know this same thing happened to you...were you able to find any information out. I am so secretly hoping for twins!!!

I will go back next Wednesday for my scheduled u/s.

Will we both find out on the 28th!!! One sac was 13.4, the other was 12.1, that was at 5w6days. I did some research, found a study that said if the gestational sac size was different by 1.2 +/- .1mm at the first u/s, the pregnancy (in this study) ended with twin births. RE said not to worry, that this would have been the very first day to detect a heartbeat, we will know more next week. He said the sacs are often different sizes.

The suspense is totally killing me. And i feel kinda guilty for being sad about the little peanut, when I should be really excited about my strong peanut!! Ugh, so many emotions!!!

Courtney - I know how you feel - that's how I felt after the ultrasound I told my hubby I feel sad even though I should be very happy and I am happy but that still part of me and it did fertilize you know what i mean..

SO i figured oh well i won't worry about it anymore just be happy knowing that atleast i am pregnant with one and saw heartbeat.

Chelly...So glad you have posted here! I was lucky and unlucky to get an early u/s. I wish my RE would have not offered an early one, this way I would still be thinking everything was going smoothly. The lack of a heartbeat is stressing me out, but we have one healthy one!!!

We are all so close in dates! I still read the April/May thread and keep track of everyone. We have had so much success!! Have either of you seen any posts from JesJes lately.? Any news on her BFP??
