Well, as promised I thought I'd post a little bit about the More To Life meeting I went to on Saturday (and Pete went along too!)
We met at one of the member's houses in South London and had lunch, chatted and exchanged ideas on social events/support group meetings for the next few months. Everyone was very friendly and we both felt very welcome - we weren't the only new members there which was a relief, but we were the youngest there by a few years, and this was a bit of a surprise (although if I'd thought about it at all, it wasn't really!)
More to Life has been going for about 2 years I think, but I would say is only now starting to get off the ground. It is a good way to meet others in the same situation - membership however isn't huge at the moment so if you're in a remote part of the UK then it's unlikely there will be other members in your immediate area. There is an active group in/around London, and it appears membership is growing and growing so this situation is improving.
We will probably attend more social events/support events run by More to Life in the future, as it does help to meet others who have made the decision to stop treatment, and are at various stages of their 'journey' after this.
Hope this is of some help to those like us who were searching for others in the same boat.

I'm really glad to hear that you had a good meeting. It sounds like it's a really nice idea. I'm not so surprised that you were both the youngest but you haven't been through anything less. You're very strong and brave you know.

Thanks for letting us know more about the meeting. It is somehow liberating meeting other people is n't it? I really felt like that when I met you guys.
I think it is great that partners get involved too as I know alot of men find it really hard to talk about issues surrounding infertility. You and Pete are obviously a really strong couple and that really is something to celebrate.

Great to hear that MORE TO LIFE meeting went well. You are obviously both v. decisive people and determined to get on with life. Sometimes I think I should have made that decision a while ago but I'm still hovering!! Meeting new people is always a great boost. Hope it does the tick for you and Pete.
