2ww Confessional-Just for Fun! What have YOU done?

Post by shep181 »

Hi Everyone,
As I anxiously ponder the onset of yet another glorious 2ww tomorrow...I thought I'd start a thread for you to post your most obsessive, compulsive 2ww acts of desperation... :D
I consider this therapy for anyone in the dreaded 2ww, and at least a laugh for those anticipating it or who have lived through it.

Bring on those HPT's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll Start: I made an appointment with my primary care MD for a bogus ailment at 8dpt and then conned the lab tech into pulling a beta. I have also used a flashlight and magnifying glass to examine the results of a HPT (numerous times, actually).

I feel better....
Me: 36 DH: 37
TTC: forever!
6 ICSI fresh and FET's, 2 chemical, rest BFN
IVF #7: Dec 09 BFP!!!!
Beta 1: 175 Beta 2: nasty case of OHSS

Oh Shep, you are hilarious!! I've already shared my acts of desperation with you so I won't rehash all the details, but I will mention that I was PAOS twice a day towards the end of my 2ww!!! First I started throwing them away, but then I fished them out of the trashed (gross I know) so I could have them all for comparison. I currently have a bag of 11 pee stick (all used) in a ziplock baggie in my underwear draw. During my 2ww, I would take them out and organize them......does it get more obsessed than this???

let's here the confessions ladies!

13 tests...4 of those were opks - does that fact make me more crazy or less crazy? Not sure.

After about 6 tests I hid my "stash" from DH.

ahhhh....nothing like going to the supermarket checkout with a basketful of HPTs.

I, too, was addicted to the pee sticks, I wrote the date and time on all of them and even took photos of them lined up to show the lines getting darker. I didn't hide them from my hubby, he said he realized it was theraputic for me (maybe he already knows I'm crazy?). I still have them all in a ziplock bag, too.

Another thing I did/still do is squeeze my boobs a little to make sure they're still painful. I know.....very wierd.

I just did something crazy. I have been peeing non stop since the egg retrieval. I guess it was the HCG. I was just curious 8 days post trigger shot, if the HCG was still in my system. I got a negative. Is that ok? It is three days post my transfer. Should I be worried that I have no HCG showing up on a test? I am going crazy during this two week wait

Daisy 99- I don't think you need to worry at all that you had a negative at this point, that's great in fact, because (as long as you use the same type of test) you'll no that when you get a positive there is a good chance of being a true positive! I pee-tested BEFORE the transfer to make sure it was out and it was negative. I think everyone takes a different amount of time to clear the trigger. GL!
