Pre 12 week scan gang

Post by JULES K »

Hi Girls,

Just thought I would check in to see how we are all doing and compare symptoms! I feel OK as long as I eat every couple of hours otherwise I feel really sick. Have definately put weight on already as have had to buy new pants adn people have commented on the size of my bump! I am also having trouble sleeping as I can't seem to get comfy of a nightime. I am used to sleeping on my front but have found that I get pains in my tum if I lie on my front and feel sick if I lie on my back so I am having to sleep on my side so I spend most of the night tossing from one side to the other. I also find that my legs ache when I am lying down in bed.

I still get occasional twinges in my overies especially when I cough or blow my nose sharply, has anybody else experienced this?

Has anybody get their 12 week scan date through yet?

Has anybody bought any baby things yet? I am dying to but feel I am tempting fate somehow by not waiting till the magical 12 week stage.

Look forward to hearing from you. I think it is HelenLouise, Helen, Tracey, Sammie and myself if I remember correctly and anybody else who wants to join. Is it just HelenLouise and Tracey that are having twinnies?

Lots of Love

Julie xx

Hi there Julie

Can I join please? I tested +ive on the 31st December and I'm waiting my first scan. The hopsital only do 8 week ones and so I have another week to wait yet. Roll on the 27th!!!!!

I've been getting increasingly nauseas each day - just waves of feeling sick not actualy being sick - though I did rush tot he toilet today just in case!

I still don't quite believe that I'm pregnant and I will feel so much better when I know that everything is okay after next week. Fingers crossed.

Oh well, look forward to getting to know you all

Much love

10 WEEKS TODAY

HI,

after my small bleed scare last week i have been fine. Checked in with the midwife and am waiting for the 12 week scan date to come through when they do the nuchal test.
Jules, i get those sharp pains now and again too, especially when i turn the top half of my body quickly or sneeze also. I do get af type pains alot, but have finally put this down to growing pains-after all theres alot going on down there! I worry when i have pains and worry if i don't, so theres no winning really.
As i said on a recent posting i have gained weight already and it doesn't help that i was overweight before i started. Went to try and buy some trousers today as i need to be comfy, but as i'm only 5 1" they swamped me. Need to find the 'short and fat' range of maternity wear!
Can't wait to see the next scan pics and counting down the weeks. Weird to think that i'm a quarter of the way through already!
Really tries and hungry all the time, but the nausea has passed me by luckily. Often need an afternoon siesta and despite having to get up 2-3 times in the night i sleep quite soundly.

lots of love, helenx

Jules

just me checking in - have my scan date thro today - it is monday and now I feel sick and flapping and no longer at all pg - feel my boobs have shrunk and not feeling sick and am not as big as I was! This might be due to less wind as no longer on the sodding pessaries but major flap - think I might blow an artery - it all brings it back to my 20 week scan when they told me Oliver was dead - all such a nightmare and my ectopic - I don't do scans very well as you can imagine.
Have been very sick weeks 6.5 to 8 and then on and off and then at 9 weeks nothing for 5 days and then yesterday monring was sick and yesterday afternoon. I have to sleep every day and find that sleeeping on my side gives me pains in whatever bottom leg I am on. At night my flab seems to go harder but still convinced it is wind and food! not babies
Will keep you posted
Love

Hello everyone, well I'm 9wks now and my only problem is if I don't eat every couple of hours, I get REALLY dizzy/queasey - but I've got used to it now and can feel it coming on and I get a bit tired in the evening. I think my stomach has grown slightly, but I've not been riding my neddy as much so my muscles are turning to flab!! Still walking the dogs and we live in a rural area, so they can run around while I bumble about! Nuchal Fold scan (I was 35 at Christmas) is booked for Friday 6th Feb, and I'll be just over 11wks then. I can't believe we are nearly all reaching our 12wk stage.
Keep well and safe, most important keep in touch :P

Hi Julie

Most of my symptoms have passed now, if i don,t eat often i still feel a bit sick or light headed or both. I have lost 6 pounds and have stayed the same for over a week but i am finding clothes (especialy trousers)getting tighter (finding shorts a great comfort especialy at night). I am not wanting to buy any more just now i have a few clothes from the first time i was pg but don,t want to tempt fate by bringing them out of the box. I am going out on saturday and just hope my trousers fit me they just fitted at new year. I have bought new tops though, but i have a big chest anyway.

I too have been having pains when i sneeze so i tend to bring my knees up and i have found that that helps. I find if i get up too quickly as well i get a sharp pain but it goes quick.
I posted earlier this week i am not sleeping much at all. I find if i lie on my right side it makes me need to pee.

Tracey i would not worry my flab gets hard at night too. Did your breasts get bigger in the first few weeks and then go back to normal mine has. At least you ahve your scan date through. I was hoping mine would be through before next week having a gathering of aunties and cousins (a girls lunch) and wanted to tell them all together.

I know this is not nice to say but i have not bought anything yet (not even looked) i was really tempted the last time i was pg. it was this beautiful little suit but i held back. It was only a week before my 12 week scan. I do however have a pack of sleepsuits but that is only because i bought them for my friend but before i gave her them she told me she didn,t like those colours. So i kept them i found it hard i tried to hide them but kept finding them. My mum wanted to look at prams the other day but my sis is v against things like that (their buying the pram).
Sorry probably depressed everyone now and went on far too much sorry.

hi all,

i've just had my 12 wk scan and i am so pleased, relieved, happy and saying thanks that all seems to be good. due to my age i immediately fell into the high risk category and after the scan and blood tests am now in a low risk category. this means that we won't be having an aminio test.

we seen the baby moving, all limbs, brain, lungs... it's unbelieveable, but not the sex. our baby looks like a baby now too. so finally we've told all our friends we're having a baby.

tracy, like you my sickness and boobs had eased quite a lot before the scan and i was starting to get really worried. i knew the sickness would pass but didn't think my boobs would feel less sore. i checked it out with a few people and they said it's not uncommon at this stage for all symptoms to feel better. xx

best wishes to everyone.

Hi Phil

It's a great feeling knowing that all is well after the stress of waiting for the 12 week scan. I am so pleased for you. Will you find out what you are having at your 20 week scan?

Take it easy and enjoy being PG. I bet you keep looking at the picture. I did, all the time and showed everybody who I spoke to - even the milkman!!!

I'm pleased everything went well at your scan. I still find it wierd actually saying the words "I'm Pregnant" - we told everyone in our Christmas cards so I didn't have to say the words out loud - I still think I'm making it up and will wake up from this lovely dream!!

You can sit back and enjoy being pregnant now!!

hi all, thanks for all your messages. it is a great relief alisonn and nikola you're right i can finally start to relax a bit.

dagny, i'm not sure anymore about asking the sex. i was convinced that i'd want to know and now i'm sort of changing my mind. maybe it's because we've waited for what seems so long that so far i'm happy knowing there's a little baby. must be the hormones .... will you ask?

Hi Phil

No, I'm not going to find out the sex. Like you said it's taken so much to get to this stage that knowing I am having a baby is enough for me and I can wait just that little bit longer to find out if it's a boy or a girl. There are some days when I think it would be nice to know but once you do there is no going back. I am happy either way just as long as they are healthy and the only thing I want them to have are my green eyes.

Love Dagny x

What fantastic news - the 12 week scans are great after the intitial panic - I remember with Oliver how elated I was - and I was the same re the test - I am 37 and mine dropped considerably - hope it does this time.
No sickness or nausea but still dog tired - does not help DH waking up at around 5 this week and tomorrow it is 4 to get to Slough!!!
Boobs hurt at night.
Try and relax a bit now - re the sex it is hard - individual - we will ask at our 20 week scan - I was going to ask with Oliver but he had died and stopped growing so we had to wait for the post mortem - I always had a feeling it was a boy though.
You must do what you think right.
Enjoy
Love

Tracey,

Are you really going to find out what sex they are? I thought you would wait for the surprise! I bet you change your mind nearer the time! I always wanted to know and then when I was laid on the bed and she said I can tell what they are do you want to know, I suddenly changed my mind and said no!!!

I like the guessing game best......! I'd just like to say that if you find out early, you are not allowed to 'bag' the best names, just cos you found out first!!!!

Have you thought of any new names? We haven't had a baby name thread for ages! Fortunately I'm weaning dh off Freddie Eddie and Willy Billy.........

I was just reading the messages re; finding out the sex. We've decided that if we can find out we will and we've already got any idea for names..... Elliot for a boy and Madison for a girl!! :D I'm convinced I'm having a boy and DH thinks it's a girl (but he already has a 9yr old girl, so maybe that's swaying his judgement). On the other hand if we don't get the option of finding out then that's also fine - it will just have to stay with the name it's got at present....Billy Blob
