Hi Yellow- How are you? Are you waiting for AF? I like this thread too but it seems to be down to you, Mel (and I think she wants some time off), Beth and I. We gotta keep it going or see if anyone else is out there that is in our boat. Hope you are doing good.

I'm just taking bcp- one week down and two weeks more to go...supposed to get some deliveries of meds today so that keeps me looking ahead...

Beth- How are you? Are you almost done with your bcp?

Take care all.

Hello ladies. So sorry that I have been gone for a while. Actually, the computer quit telling me when people posted, so I just quit paying attention. Can't say I've been keeping up with you guys and results. Sorry. if I get a chance I will look back and see how everyone is doing.

As for me, I must say I am a little concerned that my clinic doesn't know what it is doing. Does that sound crazy? So, I have been calling them to get meds ordered since I am doing a medicated FET. They originally wanted to do a nonmedicated FET, but I told them I was not sure if I ovulated or not. So we agreed on doing a medicated procedure.
Well, when I called this last week to see if they were going to order my meds, they said that I would be taking estrace (sp) and they would call it into my pharmacy once my period starts.
Someone told me that estrace has nothing to do with ovulation. So, please help if you know anything!!!

Hello ladies...

Sorry for not posting as often as I should. Just been really busy trying to take care of stuff b4 ivf.

Mel, my heart aches for you and dh. I am sooooo sooooo sorry. The girls are right, take it one day at a time. Hopefully things will fall into place. It is so not fair. (and it is ok to yell and scream very loudly!!) I wish you the best, and please keep in touch! WE in the #2 club will be here!

Hrobinson, I am sorry, I am not sure what you are referring to. Can't you look up another clinic? Is there another in your area? It's hard to go thru everything AND not have faith in your clinic! Hopefully someone here will have your answer. best of luck to you!

Laura, I am so glad you started this thread. I know I said that before, but I am truly glad to have you girls to chat with and root for!
Hurray for BCP, right?! no! I am almost done with mine, another week. I will finally start my Lupron this weekend. Let's get this ball rolling!!

Yellow, wow, you are definitely a stronger person than I am! But I agree, maybe it was meant to go this way! My fingers and toes are crossed for you! Sorry if you mentioned it already, when is your FET scheduled for??

I am off to make some good old fashioned chicken soup....we have all been down with a nasty cold.

Yay! Glad to see so many posts.

hrobinson, I'm always second guessing my clinic. In the end, I think I understand why they make the decisions they do, but I seem to always have my own ideas. I'm starting a medicated FET too, but this is my first. I'm not exactly sure how the whole process will work. I do know that I'll be taking BCP, lupron, estrace and POI shots (ugh). I'm no expert (obviously), but I think FET cycles are all about the lining. Whether you ovulate or not is not that important -- as long as the lining is getting nice and thick. I think the estrace helps with that. Laura has done a FET cycle. Maybe she has more insight.

Laura, I got AF this weekend (earlier than I thought -- Yay!) I started BCP yesterday.

Beth, thanks for thinking I'm strong. I hope that's the reason -- and I'm not just foolish. :)

My FET is scheduled for July 3. Yipeee!

Yellow- Our FETs are the same day- July 3rd!!!!!! That means it's our lucky day!!! I sure hope so! We can enjoy our 2ww together!! That's great that you are on your way with bcp now- like I said, I can't wait to be done with them!

hrobinson- Usually for a FET they don't want you to ovulate because you already have the embryo. So they put you on Lupron to suppress ovulation. The Estrace you referred to is to thicken up your lining. The meds Yellow mentioned below are the main ones you'd take usually. Sounds like your clinic needs to tell you more about your schedule. Let me know if you have any other questions at all. Good luck.

Beth- Glad to hear from you! Sorry that you were all sick- chicken soup sounds so good! So almost done with bcp- yippeeee!! I got so darn tired on them last cycle and I was only on them 2 weeks and this time I'm on them 3 weeks- ughh!! What do you think the timing of things will be for you- do you know yet?

So glad to hear from all the #2 gals!!!

Yellow and Laura, thank you for your insight and your help. I ended up calling my clinic last night to question my meds. I just want to double check everything. The cost of this and the emotional stress of this is too much to go through if you have questions weighing on you. We will see what they have to say.
I took my last BCP this morning, so AF should be showing up around Sunday or so. Hopefully everything goes as planned.

Beth- As far as another clinic around....sure there is...I already travel 360 miles (one way) to do this procedure. However, they have my little embies frozen, and they did such a good job getting me my dd. I'm just a questioning person.

Kimmy- Thanks for your protocol. Again, we will see what the dr. says this am.

Hi girls

sorry that I have been offline for a while. I went to visit my parents and ended up having an extra long stay. This thread is great, really keeping me sane and motivated.

Yellow - I am very sorry that you didn't have an et and best of luck to you and Laura for the FET on 3 July.

Melo - you and your family are in my prayers.

As for me, I had an endometrial biospy yesterday to check the uterus lining. I am doing a fresh cycle in July (er 23/24 july). I am starting the nasal spray to down regulate at the end of June. I am trying to feel a bit more fit and rested going into this round of IVF.

As a matter of interest, do any of you do acupuncture? I did alot of acupuncture when I have ivf and got pregnant with my dd. I am thinking of trying it again now........harder to manage now as I have dd and the acupuncturist lives about 45 minutes journey from me. Just wondering .....

Best wishes to you all.

Hi again

hrobinson and beth - good luck to you both with the FET as well. I did 3 medicated FET cycles and it is all about thickening the lining. I took no stims at all.

Laura, that's too cool that we have the same FET day! Are FETs usually on the day they give you up front. I know that ER can't be sent in stone before they see how you're progressing. Is the same true for FETs?

Kimmy, thanks for sharing your FET protocol. Seems like my clinic usually uses fewer drugs than other clinics. Hmm. Makes me wonder if I need those other drugs, too. :)

Here's my protocol:
BCP
Lupron
Estrace
PIO

Beth, I hope the chicken soup was delicious and you are feeling better.

Joyana, end of June will be here before you know it.

A friend of mine is in the hospital giving birth as I type. I'm watching her 2 year old son along with my DD. Two toddlers, oh, my goodness. I got them both to nap at the same time and I feel like super mom. :)

Good luck to all the #2 girls. I'll do an updated list soon!

Hi Ladies

It seems like I`ve found a second home! Although I haven`t read the whole thread I have skimmed so I would just like to say good luck to all of you who are about to have FET`s or start fresh cycles.

I was lucky enough to fall pregnant with my first cycle of ICSI - ds born 11/06. I hoped and secretly assumed it would be just as easy the second time round so when we got a BFN in Feb this year I was devastated. In order to keep going and not spiral into negativity I decided to plough right in to the next fresh cycle (we never have embryos fit for freezing). We had another BFN last sunday. The clinic is flumoxed as to why my A grade embryos are not implanting (in my last 2 BFN`s the embryos have been of better quality than first BFP cycle). They have suggested that we do PGS after having a break over the summer. I find myself at a crossroads - PGS doesn´t improve your chances of pregnancy and since if we decide to indeed do another cycle it will be our last, is there any point in testing and spending all that money to find out that the embies are in perfect condition anyway but just not implanting.......

I seem to find myself thinking more and more about adoption. Has anyone else considered this?

The clinic, my family and DH are all telling me switch off for a couple of weeks. They might as well be telling me not to POAS during the 2WW - IMPOSSIBLE!

Daisy, welcome!

I'm sorry about your BFNs. It's always so hard. I hope you take time to grieve and start to feel better.

I'm so glad you asked about adoption. I think about it a lot. Before our daughter, my husband was kind of opposed to it. But I mentioned it again more recently. If things don't work out with our frozen embryos (or maybe even if they do), I would like to adopt. He seems much more receptive now.

I don't know about PGS. I'm sorry I can't help you there. I also thought the second time would work. Why shouldn't it, right? But now I've had a BFN and a cancelled transfer.

Are you wondering whether to do a cycle at all this summer? Or only wondering whether to do a cycle with PGS? It's a tough decision.

Hi Yellow

I thought alot about adoption before our first cycle. I have always wanted to adopt since my sister has 2 wonderful adopted children and when I was younger my parents used to take in foster children. Like your DH mine too was very resistent and wanted to try IVF first. Obviously the whole subject of another child was put on the back burner until last September but after the 2 BFN I started to think about it again. When I put it to DH he too is far more receptive to the idea. We are waiting til after Summer to start with another cycle (with or without PGS) at the clinics say so - they want me to have a break for health and mental sake but perhaps we might even decide to go straight into adoption. I think I will be climbing the walls by July wanting to get things going, I feel like instead of a 2ww I will be doing a long haul 4 month wait!

I did read but have forgotten when do you start your FET? x

Hi Daisy,

My FET is scheduled for July 3, same day as Laura's! I, too, was really anxious to start again right away. I took one month of between my first BFN and the next cycle. That next cycle didn't make it to transfer. I wanted to start the FET right away. I'm on BCP now and I start lupron on June 2.

We have a lot of frozen embryos, but my clinic freezes them at the one cells stage. I think it's pretty rare to do it that way. I think we'll keep trying until we run out of frosties. I'm not sure if I'd try another fresh cycle if the FETs don't work out. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Interesting the our DHs are more receptive to adoption now. I've always thought it would be a cool way to start a family, but I must say, I'm very happy to have experienced the pregnancy/childbirth part of life.

That's awesome that your parents took in foster children. I've thought of doing that, too. DH is open to it -- at least in theory. Is foster parenting something you'd like to try?

I have not looked into adoption at all. Can you point me to any good source s-- books, web pages, etc?
