Heavy Bleeding after intercourse?

Hello everyone!! I am so thankful to have found this message board and am looking foward to all of your responses.

I recently went through my third attempt at ICSI which resulted in a BFP. Hubby and I are very excited. I am 6 weeks today. However, we had a very scary episode last night. Yesterday afternoon we had intercourse for the very first time. Felt fine and went to bed about 11:00 pm. About 3:00 am I woke up with terrible cramping. I went to the restroom and saw lots of blood in my underwear, very heavy like my period with some clots.

Became very scared, called my Dr. at about 3:30 am and he had me come in this morning for a sonogram. Had the sonogram and saw two sacs but nothing in them. He said it was still early and that he wanted me to come in for another sonogram on June 3rd. We are so scared. I know that there is nothing that we can do to prevent a miscarriage, but it would help to know if anyone had experienced this and what was the outcome.

Any thoughts will be appreciated. Thank you!

First of all, congratulations on your BFP.

My doctor has made me become abstinent ... absolutely no sex until week 30. I'm at week 28 now. My DH and I have no desire. We don't want to take any chances.

Do not let this bother you that much, stay calm and be positive, all the same it is better to stay away from sex for some time, until the entire process is fully under control .

i am poersonally staying away from sex, afterall this is the 11th day.

Thanks for your replies. I do feel better today. I am feeling pregnant so it a weird way that makes me feel better.

DH and I definitely will stay abstinent for the rest of the pregnancy. It definitely not worth chancing it.
