Welcome Daisy- Great to have more #2 gals on here! Sounds like you have a lot on your mind and you've been through a lot- so sorry about your BFNs. I had the same experience that my first IVF with ICSI worked and I have a ds. My first FET did not work and that was hard. Like you said, you figure that if it works once, it'll work again- if only! We actually thought about adoption before our 1st IVF and then ended up deciding to do IVF. We went through the training and all to adopt because we were going to adopt through the state but we decided we couldn't handle the idea of fostering since we thought we'd get too attached. I think sometimes too that I would still do it though...I guess I'll see after this FET if we don't get a BFP. I'm pretty sure we won't do another fresh cycle. Good luck to you Daisy and this has been a great support for me and I hope you'll find it to be too!

Yellow- I think with the FET, it's pretty much set that your date will be what it is...the only thing that could change it is if your lining doesn't respond but that's uncommon. So hopefully we'll be having ours the same day! I have one more week of bcp and then I start Lupron on June 3rd- you start the 2nd, right? I'm sick of bcp- I'm getting really tired on them.

Joyanna- Good to hear from you. Like Yellow said, June will be here soon! I have never done acupuncture but lots of gals on these boards do- I think if I knew of a place near by I might consider it. Since you did it when you had your dd, it can't hurt. Good luck.

hrobinson- How did it go meeting with your doctor? I hope you got all your questions answered- is that possible?!? I know I always have a million and then I can't think of all of them and I don't want to like pull out a long list or something!

Beth- So you've started Lupron now, right? Last time, I started out giving it to myself in my tummy but got a lot of bruises so later on I switched to my outer thigh and it was a lot better so I think I'll start there this time. Are you and your family all well now? Hope so.

Did I forget anyone? If I did, sorry...let's all give updates soon. Good luck to all the #2 girls!

Happy Monday ladies.
Welcoe Daisy. Considering adopting is a huge step. However, when you think about it, everything we have been through has been a huge step. When I was young I never thought I would have to go through all that I have to get pregnant. I commend people who are willing to adopt. While this may sound horrible, I do not think we would ever consider it. I have a younger sister who was adopted and it was not a good turn out. I guess you could say that between dh and I, we have several friends who have had bad adoption things, so....

DH and I actually talked about it the other day...what would we do if this FET does not work. part of me says that I should just let things be, I mean I do have a beautiful daughter, but part of me wants to do another fresh cycle. The problem is I have severe endo, and would have to go in and be have some of it cleaned out again before doing anything. My endo is on my diaphram, and I have already had 1/3 of it removed (my diaphram) so I can't hae anymore removed. WEll, I know there is endo on it, so is it even worth going in and cleaning out some of the endo?

Anyhow....I did talk to m dr. the other day. Their procedure for a medicated FET is just estrace and progesterone. So, we will see if it works. However, I must say I am worried as they told me to call them on the first day of my "real" period. Well, that was Sunday, and today is a holiday, so I won't be able to start my meds until tomorrow...day 3 of my cycle. I hope they don't say we have to postpone. We will see.

Yellow and Laura- How lucky you are to be doing your FET together. Then you guys can really struggle through the 2ww together. Wishing both of you the best of luck.

Beth- Does the Lupron make you weird? I know a lot of people talk about hot flashes, and moodiness with it. I never experienced any of that. I too gave mine in the thigh with my last cycle. I had a few tough days, but we got through it:)

Well, I hope everyone is doing well. Gotta go run get my dd.

Hi Ladies:
I hope you don't mind if I join your board. I have been posting on May/June board. I will read the other posts to try and familiarize myself with everyone! I just had my lining check for FET on Sunday and my FET is scheduled for Friday, May 30th. I am 42 so I am not sure how the thaw will go and how many to transfer....??? I guess I will see what the RE says on Wednesday.

hello, my name is Nikki. i am new to these boards. i just got my BFN for my 2nd fresh cycle of IVF. thankfully, we still have 7 embies on ice. i am hoping to do a FET cycle by the end of august. i am very sad that my last cycle didn't work. i am 28, and we tx 2 perfect 8-cells embies. we have no idea what went wrong. i am feeling a little depressed about it, and i was wondering of anyone has had failed fresh cycles and then a positive FET??

The more the merrier here!! Welcome to Kim and Nikki!! Yellow will have to write up a new summary list of what we are all up to! (thanks Yellow- you're so good at it!!!)

Kim- Good luck this Friday! Let us know how you are doing and we are all here for support to get you through that wonderful 2ww!!

Nikki- It's so hard to get a bfn and so much of the time there is no good reason why it doesn't work- that's what stinks about all this. Lots of girls on these boards have bfps with FETs so keep the faith. Yellow and I are both having FETs on 7/3 and we are definitely hoping for bfps!!!!

hrobinson- Did you get started with your FET? I hope so... I have similar feelings of thinking I'd be fine with my ds if we aren't blessed enough to have #2 but another side of me thinks I'd end up finding a way to do another fresh cycle- it's hard.

Hi to everyone!

Take care all, Laura

Hello Kim and Nikki. So nice to have both of you here.

Nikki- I did a fresh cycle last summer (my second one) and I got aBFN! I was devistated as my very first IVF worked. so, why on earth did the last one not work. I was devistated for weeks. However, we are trying a FET right now. I have 4 embies frozen, and am assuming dr. will tranfer all 4. I beleive 2 of the were of good quality, and the other 2 were not so good. We will see what he says.

Kim - MyFET isn't too far behind yours. We can go through the dreaeded 2ww togethe. I am supposed to have my transfer on June 9th. That is if the lining all looks good.

Update- Well, the dr. office finally called me back yesterday after I called them twice. The nurse told me that I should have started my meds on day 1 so she thought the dr. would postpone my cycle a month. I was furious to say the least. I had told them time and time agaiin when my cycle would start.
Anyhow, she called the dr. and he said to go ahead and procede with this cycle. I am hoping that it all works out. I figure if I go in on June 6 and my lining isn't looking good, I will just cancel the cycle on my own and try it again next month. I need everything to be at the optimal level.

Well, I am headed off to bed. i hope everyone has a great day.

Hi there Ladies

I`ve had a busy week with visitors and exams and now to top it all it looks like DS has chicken pox. Yesterday morning he woke up with what looked like a mosquito bite right in the middle of his forehead. I didn`t think much of it but after his afternoon nap his arms were covered in spots/bites and his face too but none on his chest and back. Again I thought mosquito and infact I squished 2 in his room. This morning I took him to the pharmacy to get some ointment and the pharmacist said it looked more like chicken pox than bites and so did half the people who decided to comment when we were walking back. The odd thing is that he has been vaccinated and he doesn`t have a fever! Any ideas mummies? I shall take him to the docs this evening.

I hope you all have a good weekend and you all keep positive, no matter what point you are at in your cycles.

Hello Ladies!

I hope everyone is doing well.

Welcome the the #2 newbies! I am glad more of you have joined our little family!

Daisy, my niece was vaccinated and got the chicken pox anyway. I hope your son is doing better! What did the doc say??

Yellow! Thanks for updating that list! You are awesome! how the heck do you keep track of everything and everyone? (by the way, you ARE a supermom! )

Great adoption conversation...DH and I never considered it, we always thought we were too old..??

Hrobinson, Yes, I think Lupron makes me weird, well at least DH tells me so. Moody, definitely! Tired, hungry, and those darn headaches!

As for me, I am nursing one of those Lupron headaches right now...anyone else get those? I thought I might have skipped the headaches this time around, but no such luck...ouch. :?
I had my baseline b/w and u/s the other day. I start gonal f next week!
(I guess my ER won't be early early June, maybe late-early June??? or would that be mid June?? lol.)

I wonder if a 2nd fresh ivf has ever worked for anyone? If it worked once, it should work again, darn it!!

I will catch up with everyone later, going to take a little nap...

Hi Ladies:

Just got back from my FET. I had 8 frozen and 4 made the thaw. I didn't realize during a FET when the embies are thawed they also lose half the cells. I am excited to be in the 2WW, and hope one snuggles in.
My beta is 6/10.

Sending babydust to all!!

Kimmy- Yea, so glad that you are through that. However, now you are onto yet another yucky time. Good luck in the next two weeks.
Will you POAS?
Okay, not to sound stupid, but what do you mean when you say that when the embies are thawed they lose half their cells? Do you mean that you lose half the embies, or that they go down in grade?
Is this for every FET, or just what happened on yours?

Beth- Sorry the Lupron makes you weird. How many more days of Lupron? ( I am sure you have said) juts remember in the end all the "weirdness" will be worth it (PMA).
Ya know, I wonder the same thing about second fresh cycle. I mean it seems like most people who were successful on round one were unsuccessful on round two. Makes you wonder.

As for me, I am officially on Summer Vacation :D :D :D I have to report to school 2 more days (work day, and meetings) Then we are done. We are moving into a brand new school so we have been busy packing up our rooms. I can say tha my room is completely packed so I can just sit on my booty tomorrow and do NOTHING!!!

FET wise nothing new. Just taking my estrace twice a day. not real sure if it is to have side effects or not...not feeling any. Will head down to San Antonio on Thursday for my Friday morning appointment, and transfer on Monday. I am getting anxious...though not asmuch as with the last cycle. I guess I am more realistic this time around saying it may not work.

Okay, gonna head to bed....way past my bedtime. Hope everyone else is doing great.

Hi HRobinson:
My embies were frozen at 7 and 8 cell. So today when I went in for transfer, I was surprised we were transferring 4 and 5 cell. The RE says this is normal during the thaw, but I was caught off guard. Please let me know if it is the same for you on Monday. Good luck! Are you doing Asst. Hatching? Were your embies frozen at day 3 or 5?

Kim- Glad you got 4 little embies transferred!! I'm not sure about the losing cells thing. My embies were frozen as blasts so my first FET, the RE said the rating stayed the same for the embryo after the thaw. But unfortunately it still didn't stick. So I would keep up the positive thoughts that at least one of them will snuggle in!! Good luck. We're here to help you through the 2ww.

hrobinson- Good luck today!!! Let us know how it goes and how you are doing. That's great timing that you are done with the school year and now you're having your FET.

Hi to everyone else and hope you're all doing well.

Nothing too new for me...just looking foward to starting Lupron on Tuesday and getting a little closer to July 3rd!
