Hi Buddies
Well I've now got 2 embryos tucked up in my belly hopefully getting comfy,
out of the 4 that made it to the next stage onlt 3 went on to the next stage but 2 were grade 1 and at the 8cell stage,so we havent got any to frezze and it was a shame that they couldnt just put all 3 in but the law is the law  the monitor was broken so we didnt get to see them on the screen or get a photo but as long as this works who cares!!! the nurses and doctor were brill one of the nurses who wasnt working woth us today even came in to say goodluck.
I'm off work mow until Weds so expect me to post loads during that time,I'm trying to rest but to be honest not as much as last time where I didnt move only to shower and go to the toilet and it didnt work then,I think if its going to work it will, just lets hope this is 3rd time luckly.
Hope everyone else is ok and I will catch up with everyone tomorrow I just wanted to come on here and tell you all my news.

Just wanted to ask a few things How many eggs did you get and how many fertilised? also did you have 8 cell embryo's put back last time? and finally did they put them back on day 3? Sorry to blast you with questions it's just I'm trying to get my head round embryo quality vrs cell numbers.
My thoughts are with you on the 2WW are hope and pray that it works for you this time.

Hi Aly
Dont worry about asking loads of question I just hope I can answer them
The 1st time we had 13 eggs 8 were fertilized 2 put back and 6 frozen,I had the ec on the thurs and had et on sat,so yes they were day 3,I think 1 was 8cell and 1 was 6 cell, out of the 6 we frozen 2 only made it and were 6cells (Ithink).thisn time they were day 3 and grade 1,If I remember the 1st time we did et they were grade 1 and 2.
Hope I have answered your questions I have know some women get pg on poor quality embryos.I'm just praying this time they want to stick around.
I had 5 eggs this time as they put me on a lower dosage onlt 125 of puregon, and when we were seen before ec the doc and nurse both said they expected 5 eggs so theyb were right.
Hope this helps

Hi Gem

Well done to you!! Take it easy for a few days, are you off until tomorrow or next wednesday?
I'm a bit lost with all this 8 cell and grade 1 stuff but it sounds very impressive!
Sending you loads and loads of luck for the next 2 weeks and lets hope your the first of many positives for the JCB's.

Aly
Glad you had a nice holiday, sorry to sound thick but don't you need lots of snow for skiing??!! Can't you tell I'm a sunshine holiday girl!!!

Dagny
Thanks for the advice re pessaries - the nurse told me that it was best to stick them up your bum cos they leak out of the other way!!!! Nice!
Am going to have to ask another stupid question - whats the score on the whole sex thing during the 2ww and after if its a positive? I'm assuming it's best not too?!

Jen
Are you getting excited/nervous for Thursday? Are you having sedation or a general? I'm sure I've already asked you this so please just humour me!!
Hope everyone else is ok?
Helen where are you at the moment??!!!

Hi Dawn

Hope you are ok? I was so keyed up in the 2ww that sex wasn't on my mind at all. If DH was getting a bit fruity I just gave him a helping hand if you get my drift! It is advisable not to have sex in the first trimester. I know some who do but I think it has taken so much to get PG I wasn't going to risk anything.

Good Luck with everything. I will be watching out for you all. Take care and remember to drink lots.

Love Dagny x

Hi GEM
Thanks for the reply, yet another question which you have probably been asked before do they know why you can't concieve if you have good embryo's have they managed to suggest anything wrong?? It's just that I'm kind of banking on embryo quality being the thing that is wrong with me if I have donor eggs then prahaps the quality will be fine but I'll still not catch is there any reason for this??

Dawn snow is great too much snow is very bad as they close the mountain because of avalanche risk, so I had a few days of sitting in the bar!!

Hope everyone is doing OK big hugs

Hi Guys

Well had another scan yesterday and my follie was 24mm but still not popped so I had Profasi jab which means that I will have ET on sat. They wil start defrosting on Fri and I will be such a wreck as last time none of my 5 made it. Surely out of 9 I should get a couple? If I get 3(wishful thinking) I am allowed to have them all put back in as I am 38, guess I will.
Just a bit of an uplifting story for us all...A girl I know from my clinic has had early menopause(in early 30s) she is now same age as me and has had 2 x donor IVF and 1 x donor FET. She got pg but miscarried at 10wks on 1st go, most recent cycle was in Oct. Anyway she told me yesterday that she is 8wks pg naturally :D !!! Her GP says its a miracle! So never give up as who knows what is round the corner.
Anyway, good luck for EC to Jen on Thurs and Dawn on Fri. Gem will be joining you soon hopefully on 2ww, and Jackie S..any news?
On the sex question, my clinic says be normal, but I know some say no sex. I think that you just have to go with what feels comfortable to you. If it was a natural pg you would have sex in the 2ww as you wouldnt know  ! As for the lovely pessaries(how I miss them!) I have tried both front and back 'bottoms' . Must admit that back is not as messy, and I used them last thing at night so they had well and truly disolved by the morning!
Take Care everyone

Hi Girls
I hope it is ok if I join your thread. I have today had e/c and they got 9 eggs. This time we are actually having a 3 day transfer, so hopefully all being well 2 embryos will be put back on Saturday. My first IVF attempt worked but I m/c and the 2nd time was negative, so hopefully 3rd time lucky. The reason they are doing a 3 day transfer is that they said they wanted another 24 hours to see how the embroys divide and be more confident that they are replacing the best 2. Everything crossed!
Good luck to everyone.

Hi Aly no they dont know why they dont want to implant I asked what test they can do and they dont start testing you for different things until you've had 3 failed fresh cycles,we've had 1 fresh 1 frozen and this 1 fresh, but I have asked them to do test if this cycle fails and they have said yes we will have to pay for these tests but it might give us answers if this 1 fails, but hopefully it wont!!!!!!

Hi Girls
Well phoned the clinic today to confirm appointment for tomorrow. AF has arrived in style so will be starting injections on Saturday. Thought i'd ask about where I was on the donor list and guess what they have matched me!!!! :D The wonderful women is undergoing tests at the moment which should take 3 weeks then if all is OK we could go for it next month. I know I shouldn't get too excited but I thought i'd have to wait ages and it's only been 4 months. So this will be my last IUI, the knowledge that there may be a donor has really chilled me out so you never know!
Gem I had funny pains left and right side when I had IVF and the Doc told me it was my body adjusting to the high hormones so a very good sign!!
Michelle let us know how your embies are doing, Sue good luck for Saturday I'll be thinking of you. good luck with E/C for all of the JCB's
Big hugs

Gem
I am currently having those tests you are on about , it would have cost £575 for the whole package but the clinic wrote to the docs and they took it that they had to do the tests so got them for nothing!!!! it is for Genes and Karyotype etc etc I could give you the list if you like . ( it is on another thread two weeks ago) They can do just certain test that arnt as expencive but I decided to have it all!

Dawn
Best of luck for EC tomorrow , will be thinking of you

Hi Girls
Well I found out today that out of the 9 eggs, 6 have fertilised. At this stage they can't tell how well they are doing, just that they have fertilised. I am so nervous to wait for them to tell me tomorrow how they are doing, I can't bear it if none of them have gone onto divide further....we're having 2 replaced on Saturday, so I'm praying that they will carry on dividing as they should. The past 2 attempts I had a few more fertilised, but they told me today not to stress as it only takes one. They were really sweet, the embryologist said that is it my turn after 3 attempts. But as you all know each stage is a nightmare. I will feel so much happier if I get 2 good grade ones put back on Sat.
Hope you are all well.

Hi All
Thanks for the message Traci I must try and stay calm but it is exciting!
Dawn good luck for tomorrow thinking of you and I'm sure it will be fine, all I can remember about egg collection was the wonderful feeling of not being bloated it lasted all of about 1hr but it was great (23eggs)
Mich good luck for Saturday I think the wait is hell worse than the 2ww!
Feeling good about tomorrow glad we are having one more go.
I'm going to ask loads of questions tomorrow about FSH levels implantation and egg vrs embryo quality so I'll let you know the news.
one point about buying medication I comared the clinics pharmacy with Clinovia and the clinic is cheaper :) quite shocked really but shows they are not trying to rip us off!
Right must go lots of hugs

Hi everyone,

Popping in to wish everyone good luck for this cycle.

Michelle - so glad to see your news. I always think the wait between e/c and e/t is the most nerve wracking, and adding another day must be torture, but it sounds like things are going well upto now for you - my last cycle I only had 4 eggs retrieved and only 3 were suitable for injecting/fertilised, 2 divided and only one was decent quality, so its true, you do only need one! Will keep my eye open for further news and fingers crossed that it'll be good.

Lots of Love
