Neffi-one of the time I took Lupron I took a smaller dose by accident because I was looking on the wrong line, or should I say the other side of the syring. Anyho, I calle the nurse and she said that was fine. There was a 5 unit difference, so I think by you loosing a few drops you'll be ok.
jharris- Good job on staying away from the rest of those sticks:) Tomorrow is the big day!! Crossing my fingers for you.
babygurl- I've had 3 laps before and they are not bad at all. I've not had them for ER, but for other reasons (removal of cyst, endimetosis, adhesions...ect). They will make a small incision through your belly button and a very tiny incision right where ther ovaries are, one on each side. As a matter of fact it is so small that I cant even see the scar now, but I can feel it. Good luck!
turtles- GL on the baseline and the shot, I hope your stimming by the 5th.
SDtrying-GL on your board exam!!
Hang in there 2 wwers!!
Grow follies grow to all who are stimming.
Ya'll lied to me:) I am still having horrible headaches:( TOday is day 3 of stims and I dont feel anything. No soreness, bb tenderness or anything. I am sure by day 5 it will be different. I hope those little guys are growing in there!!
I have a few questions...
1.) For those who did Gonal-F, did you find that the needles are thicker and harder to penatrate than the Lupron needles? I didnt have any issues with Lupron, I have a hard time getting the needle in with the GOnal F. Any tricks?
2.) Do you bleed through the injection spot with the thick needle on the Gonal F? I do and it leaves bruising, is that normal? I only ask because that dont happen with Lupron.
3.) Do you or did you have an increased appitite when you started stimming? I find that I am starving ALL the time.
4.) Last, for those who used Gonal F, was that the only stim you used? I have been reading where alot of you are using two different kinds of stims, so it makes me wonder.
sharona: COngrats on triggering! Sounds like you get an early birthday present! Best luck!!
dakota: I used Gonal-F, and I had the same problems. It was a little harder sometimes to get the shots in, and I still have the bruises from the stim part, and yes, it bled every time! Are you also taking baby aspirin? I was, and they said that thins your blood causing more bruising. Gonal was the only stim I used, but I was also taking 2.5cc of Lupron, and 10cc of a microdose Ovidrel (can't remember what that was for). And I was a little more hungry, too. Sorry, we never figured out any tricks to make the shots easier. Good luck! And thanks!
jharris...Baby asprin in on my protocol, but I am not to start taking it until the day after ER. I have ovidril, but to be honest I dont know when I am suppose to take it. I just know that it is not on my calander at this point. For some reason I was thinking that was my HCG shot?
Dakota, all RE protocols are so diffferent! They had me start my baby aspirin when I started Lupron, along with pre-natal vitamins! And Ovidrel is an HcG as well (I think), but they had me on a microdose version while on stims, too. I have noticed that almost everyone of us took different stuff at different times. Luckily, my RE nurse gave me the whole month schedule, so I knew what I would be taking and when, other than dosage changes when the BW & US started.
Hi All
I have been away this week so have spent the last 20 minutes getting up to speed with every one's news...both fantastic and heartbreaking.
I am looking for a bit of support from you. This is our 2nd IVF. I am on day9 of stimming and have been for my ultrasound and another blood test today. The last time at this point I had approx 14 follies. This time I have 1 on one ovary and 3 (maybe 4) on the other. The doc reduced my Gonal f to 225iu this cycle - last time it was 250iu. Could this be the cause of the difference.
I was on my own during the scan (DH in Palm Springs with work) and I was so upset i didnt even ask what happens next. Why did they do the blood test? I should get the results later today but i am pulling my hair out at the moment.
....just got the call from the doc to say i should continue stimming and go in for another scan on Monday morning. She didnt have the blood test results yet.
I assume we will still go ahead even if I only have 4 follies? Nervous as last time we had 9 mature eggs and only 2 fertilised usineg ICSI.
Thinking of you all
Tracey

BFP! TWINS!!!! One baby stopped growing at approx 9-10 weeks.
DD born Feb 09!! Little miracle!
Dakota - I only use Gonal F for stims...I bleed a bit with both Lupron and Gonal F..DH gives me my shots so as far as harder to get in I don't notice it "receiving" the shot...and yes I bruise a little bit as well so I think all you mentioned is "normal"...Good luck!
Rinnie - I am sorry to read your post but you have an amazing attitude and determination! You are one step closer!!
jharris - Tomorrow is it! Good luck!
cwrj00 -the blood test is to measure your E2 or estradoil hormone level - that correlates somehow to the follicles and knowing when to tell you to "trigger" ...I dont know much more than that...Stay positive! Good luck Monday...
SDTrying - hope the move went well!!
ForMaggie - hope your test went well! The PIO shots get old fast huh?
Well we "triggered" last night at 9pm - E/R tomororw 9am E/T Tues 6/3...
so my E2 levels "plateaud" and no OHSS so we are going thru with the enitre cycle and feel very lucky to have dodged that bullet...
Sorry in advance for the quick post - am running off to a meeting. Just found out that beta went from 128 to over 400!!!!
I am now able to breathe a little! We go next Friday for an ultrasound - not to see the heartbeat, but at least to see the sacs. They said maybe in 2 weeks we could see a heartbeat. This is so crazy!!
Thank you again for all the good wishes - I could not get through this without you ladies!!!
Cwrj00- looks like we are experiencing the same thing. My 1st cycle I had 15 follies then 2nd I had 18, now this cycle 7! What the hell! I dont understand. I have a bunch of little ones in there too, but they are like 9mm so they will never make it. the 7 in there range from 14-21mm. So I will trigger tonight or tomorrow. I just dont understand the difference. Maybe the meds, but I am still taking Follistum, they just added Menopur. And there are like 6 in there that are little. I dont know, but I'm very upset! I cried the whole way home. Our fert is never great, then most usually arrest. Everyone at the office said maybe these are good. So the only hope I have is that this med made better eggs for me. RE wanted to try to do half without ICSI, but now that I have so few I dont know what we will do, DHs morphology is horrible, so we would have a huge chance of NO FERT! I guess I just have to wait and see. Sorry for the long post! Im so tired of disappointment!
Irishhope-- good luck tomorrow!
Dakota-- thanks for the response! I think that little bit I missed is okay, but I forgot to say something this morning, I had to much else on my mind.
Well Im just waiting to hear about the bw and when I trigger. I hope its tomorrow night, that way I can go to my wedding in VA tomorrow and not miss this huge work thing on Friday.

How many days of stimming have you done? Did they allow you to continue stimmimg longer than last time?
Did the RE give you a reason for suggesting only half are fertilised using ICSI?
I have read loads of posts and they all say the same thing...it only takes one!! I have everything crossed for you. Will you wait for the embryos to be blastocysts?
Does anyone know any old wives tales to improve the quality of eggs while they are maturing and growing?
LB
How exciting ! Congrats on such an amazing Beta!

Good Luck tomorrow! Thanks for the info

Well I got the call and I trigger tonight. I really hope these 7 follicles produced some good eggs. I have been in a crappy mood all day. So I guess I need some PMA. I now am missing my cousins wedding and had to call my aunt and tell her everything because I didnt want to make up some lame excuse. I hated that people didnt come to my wedding and I paid for them to be there, but I cant help it, and she understood. So my ER is 9am Sunday and then ET 6/6. I also had to call my office manager to resch a big OSHA training thing that I am suppose to be running that day. Anyway, Im going to take a nap and hope that I feel better when I wake up....tonight I have to go to a friend of DHs who has a 22 month old and a 7 month old....Uggggh.....opps, she didnt try for the 2nd one
