Hi Ladies~
I hope everyone is feeling well. Its really nice to know we are all in the same boat and expecting babies at the same time.
I had an ultrasound on Wed this week. Because my preg symptoms havent been so bad (excect tiredness at night and then I cant sleep!!) I always expect the Dr to tell me I am not preg anymore. This ultrasound was the best. At 10 weeks and 2 days, we could see both babies clearly with arms and legs and even fingers. It is amazing what a difference from 9 weeks to 10 weeks on the u/s. With my other preg I was not monitored so much so I didnt realize how much really happens in a week at this stage.
Welcome, A Mother's Love! And congrats on twins! Will you find out (like me) as soon as u can what you are having? I didnt find out with my last preg but this time I cant wait to know!
Cheryl, Have a great trip with your hubby! Enjoy relaxing and just think...soon Florida will mean Disney (by the way, NOT relaxing to go to Disney!)
Rdoc, Are you feeling better yet? The prenatal vits are rough for me too. I am on these One a Day that are the best I hgave ever been on though. And I take it right before bed so it doesnt upset my stomach so much. Let me know if you want me to send you the info on them. Reading the Barbara Luke book on twins has helped me alot, def get it!
Sonu, are you still checking in>? How are you feeling this week?
I hope you all have a safe holiday weekend!
XO Sara
Ps Is anyone have more skill than me when it comes to listing our names and due dates? Im clueless!
And does anyone know how to look at photo buckets?

Hello

Post by Carolina Girl »

Hi All, :D

I have been a lurker for long enough. My name is Karen and my husband and I are expecting twins December 13th. We are both very excited, but have been here before. We lost our 1st set of sweet babies in January of 2007 in week 19 and week 20. The loss was devastatng. This road has been difficult, but we still feel so blessed to be able to even say that we are currently pregnant. This board seems to be very supportive and encouraging, and I look forward to walking this journey with you all.

Take Care,
Karen

Hi Karen and Welcome!!! Sorry to hear of you loss but I'm thrilled to hear you are expecting again!!! I will be 12 weeks this week and looking forward to sharing our great news. I am also from the Carolinas. Did you use REACH as your RE?

Welcome to the board and I wish you the best!

To all the other Moms- our board seems a bit quiet- I hope everyone is doing okay. We just got back from a week vacation at the beach which was very enjoyable. I'm not looking forward to work tomorrow. I'm feeling pretty well. I still have a bit a queeziness and am still tired. We had an u/s on Friday for some genetic testing and our little baby was upside down bouncing on it's head!!! It was too funny. We see our OB next Monday and then we will share the news with friends.

Have a great week.

Thanks Jennieswa! I did use Reach. I loved the care that I recieved there. I only wish that they would handle the pregnancy from beginning to end.

Congrats to you as well. Each week feels like such a huge accomplishment and it is always so nice to see your little ones grow from week to week. :D

Welcome, Carolina girl!
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I cant imagine how devasatating to lose twins that far along. I lost my baby last October at 23 weeks (post IVF) and it was so terrible. I guess we both had the same attitude ("lets go for it!") and here we are again. I look forward to talking with you and hearing more about your twins~! You are due around the same time as me (Dec 15) so it will be fun to hear about what you are up to and how you are feeling!
Its is so cool that you and Jennieswa went to the same fertility clininc. I went here in Colorado (CCRM). It sounds like you had very personal and attentive care, which I believe is not the norm in these places (at least in my experience).
Jennieswa, It sound slike your ultrasound went well. Did you do all the measurements and such? And everything looks good? Isnt it great to get some of that testing out of the way.
Does anyone have to do an amnio or planning on doing one?
Hope everyone has a great week!

Hi Sara,

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. When my husband and I lost our twins, I really didn't know what the next step was going to be. I knew that we still wanted to have children, but I had to heal physically and mentally and then try again. So, yes we are back at it... :D

Congratulations to you as well...December is such a good month. We will be between holidays and on leave for the new year.

I absolutely loved my Dr. and nurses at Reach. I found them to be genuinely caring. They saw so many patients a day-a month-a year, and I still felt that we received wonderful care and attention.

Jennieswa,
We go in for our 1st Trimester Screening on this coming Thursday. I had my 1st OB appointment last Thursday. I did not want to leave Reach, but it was a milestone that I should be thankful for... :D

I didn't have the measurements etc yet. I think that may be the next u/s at 18 weeks if I'm not mistaken.

Karen
I saw Dr Katz- I just loved him. I too was scared to leave him and move on. I wish I could work with them the entire pregnancy. I know am seeing Dr Barkley at Piedmont Ob. They deliver at CMC Pineville. Is the screening where they do all the bloodwork, etc???

Jennieswa,

My doc was Dr. Wing. He is excellent. My Ob is in Gastonia, which is closer to home.

The first trimetser screening is a combination of ultrasound and blood test. It isn't bad at all, and best of all we get to see the babies... :D

Triplet update

Post by tamaraj »

Well, we made it to 12 weeks and 1 day! I stopped all of my progesterone yesterday adn I am a bit freaked out about that because now there is nothing their helping maintain the pregnancy except nature.

I met with the maternal fetal doctor and they really present a very doomsday day outlook, but I know that they are just trying to make me aware of anything that can happen. The U/S they did was so thorough and I am confident that they will be able to detect any potential problems early on. They even said that they can sometimes detect the sex as early as 14 weeks.

I am still having the bleeding every day and there is nothing they can do for it. It really is scary and a huge inconvenience. We will just watch everything closely.

Right now the three babies look great and are like disco dancers with all of their movements.

It is nice to see some new members and very sad to see that we have lost a few as well. I hope everyone is staying positive and getting alot of rest.

Hi Ladies.

I hope everyone is feeling well and that morning sickness is starting to subside. I had written about pains in my leg and eventually went to the doctor because it was so bad. They did some blood work to rule out a clot, which is good because that would have been very scary. It turns out that I have a pinched nerve in my leg and there is nothing that they can do about it. Before I go to bed I take Tylenol Arthritis (lol) to ease the pain so that I can get a good night's sleep. It's helping but definately not great. Also, at about week 10 I started having some nausea in the mornings and it seems to be getting worse??? Isn't it supposed to get better after week 12?

I have an appt with my OB tomorrow so I'm looking forward to hearing the heartbeat on the doppler. Wish me luck! I won't have an ultrasound until week 18 so we'll start telling people after tomorrow.

Cheryl - hope you're having a wonderful time in Flordia.
Carolina Girl - welcome!!
A Mother's Love - welcome!!
Tamaraj - have you had any more bleeding since the grocery store?
kbear - how are you feeling?

Hi everyone!

Sorry I haven't posted in a bit...life just keeps getting busier!

I had the nuchal test (measurements) and the bloodwork to test for the possibiltiy of chromosonal defects and all came back normal - Praise The Lord!!! I did this in an effort to avoid an amnio.

I go back for my 16-week check up on the 25th and was told if the baby is in the right position we would be able to tell the sex. WooHoo! Let me tell you that If I have to stand on my head to get them to see the right angle I will. hehehe! I'm ready to start the room and closet!

My energy is slllooooowwwwlllyyyy coming back and I'm not throwing up as often. I guess I thought once I hit the 12-week date, this magical veil would be lifted and all of the yucky stuff would go away. Yeah...like that happened. I guess it's just a steady process of feeling better.

My belly is starting to take shape to wear I don't just look like I've had one twinkie too many - I actually look a bit pregnant. How wonderful.

I guess it will all really sink in once I feel the baby kick. I can't wait!!

Hope everyone is starting to feel better as well. Anyone having an amnio or CVS?
Take care,
Cheryl

Hello Everyone.

Sorry I have been lapse in posting. It has been an adjustment getting used to not having my Mom around, she lived with us, and the house is quiet and somewhat sad. We will probably be selling this summer, as we cannot afford to double our mortgage payment and utilities, and the house is just to big for me, my husband and "Peanut".

I had my Nuchal test last week. It was the first time we saw the baby move. the arms and legs were moving a little, and the tech shook my abdomen w/ the baby rolled over and arms and legs were shaking all over the place. It was so cool.

Well, we went into the Nuchal Fold test with a 1 in 65 chance of a baby w/ Downs and I got the call this morning that it is now a 1 in 1301 chance. Yay!!! I am feeling so relieved.

My sister-in-law, who kind of sees things, says she already knows everything is fine. She has seen the birth and described it in detail. It will be interesting to see if it plays out as she described. She is also sure Peanut is a girl. I can't wait to find out the sex. Probably at my 20 week ultrasound, since I don't think I will have another one before then.

I have my next ob appt on Monday.

I am glad everyone seems to be doing well. Is everyone going to find out the sex of their babies?

Hi Everyone,

I hope that you are all doing well.

Thanks AngreaT for the welcome! :D

We had our 1st trimester screening and the results were very good. Both babies were so active and sweet to watch. I had an appointment with my OB today and got an opportunity to see the babies again. My next appointment is Jult 3rd, but my OB inidcated that I can come as often as I want to see the babies. I am going to try my best to wait until the next appointment... :D

Cheryl, I am not planning to have an amnio or the CVS sampling. At this point, there isn't a reason to and I am not sure whether a negative result will halt our plans. We will know more information about the growth of these babsies during and after the 2nd trimester screening.

Take Care,
Karen
