Hi ladies!

Post by jcurlygirl »

So our board is not moving as fast as some but I thought I would drop in a line today.

wishfull27: thanks for the kind words regarding the injections. I am glad to see you can do them yourself. I have not had any pain since the first injection I am thinking I did not let the alcohol dry and that was the cause of the pain?!? I am pretty apprehensive about the IM still. I am a nurse and I think of how many injections I have given others, I can do it!!

Well not too much development. I had an appointment with my RE yesterday. I had a bunch of polyps removed 2 weeks ago so she was doing a follow up. We also discussed how many embies they want to implant. I have been going round and round on this subject with her. She only wants to implant 1, which terrifies me. I have two uterus and I want them to put one in each but she keeps insisting they put only 1 in. Yesterday she was telling me that their numbers have been huge and just short of everyone is having twins. But there is still the idea that the one may not take. How many does everyone else implant? Anyway next Thursday is my baseline u/s and b/w, can't wait.

Good luck all!

Welcome Jcurlygirl, Chrissy, and Emily!

Chrissy- doing the injections yourself is really not that bad. I just got used to it where I didn't even think about it anymore. When are you scheduled for retreival?

Jcurlygirl- my doctor recommends putting in three. The last time he actually transferred four, but I think that is not the typical situation. I think that many doctors suggest putting back fewer if you are having a five day transfer; I had three day transfers. Are you having a three or five day transfer? I would feel nervous about only transfering one, but the doctor should know what is best.

Wishfull- when will you begin your stimulation meds? I will most likely be starting mine on Monday.

Good luck everyone.

1st IVF cycle and question

Post by Tarabeltwo »

Hi All.

Going through the first one and I had a question. I went to the doctor on Monday and they think my uterus lining is too think. They wanted to see if in thinned out any more during the week so I have to go in Sunday to see if it has thinned. If it hasn't I won't be able to start the next set of shots Monday.

I was wondering if any body else has had this issue and what did they did for you.

I think am still a little overwhelmed. Received all my medications yesterday and looked at all those needles. Wow

Hello,
I'm starting my first IVF cycle, I started my Lupron injections yesterday. This looks like a nice supportive place. I have a friend who had a successful IVF cycle but I don't think she wants me calling her at 2am when I have some nervious energy to burn :)

Hey all

To all the newbies--here's a dancing welcome for you all.

And yes I agree with jcurlygirl, let's put some more life in our board.

I finished day 4 of down regging and yes, I continue to take my shots myself!!! Me...the brave girl!!!
Carolyn and myself...who else is joining our club?

I read somewhere on this site that rubbing some ice on that particular area helps. In fact it makes the area numb for sometime.

I will try and make a list of our buddies soon!!

First Time IVFer

Post by guknit »

Hi ladies,
I would love to join you as this will be my first IVF cycle and am feeling a little overwhelmed. I went for my cycle review on Friday and it looks like I will start Lupron around June 20th. I am really excited but nervous at the same time.

Post by Tarabeltwo »

Hi All

Well looks like I can start my FSH tomorrow plus continue with my Lupron. Any suggestions to make it as simple as possible?

Thanks

Hi Tarabeltwo
excellent news - what is FSH ? - is it a stimming drug? when I start my stims - tom too am hoping I will still take Bureselin in morning and then gonal F at night - one in the belly and the other in the butt - best to go for where there is most padding

Goodluck

Hi to all the new ladies!

brit1612: I am not sure what I will be transfering? My center typically does day 3 transfers but at my last appointment my RE mentioned waiting till day 5 but then she said you have an increased likelihood of loosing all the embies and not have any to freeze. She said they would have a better picture of which ones may be more promising but in the end the same result may occur. She really only wants to transfer one, but I seriously want two! We will know the day of transfer, I think if she leaves it up to me as far as the amount of days I will stick with day 3 transfer.

Does anyone have opinions or expriences on the different days of transfer?

Hey Everyone!
Thanks for the welcome brit1612!!! The injections are getting a little better, no problems yet. I am taking Repronex and that burns so bad, so I really have to talk myself into that one!! My lupron has to be at the same time everyday so I do better with that one bc I have a time limit... ha ha. I'm not sure when retrevial will be I go on Wednesday for my first US to see how I am responding to the meds then we will go from there. This is my first time so not sure how I will respond.
Hi Tracy!! I know just how you feel as this is my first time also. I am doing good I would say SO FAR anway! I am doing Hot Yoga to relax. Thats exciting about starting your meds.
Carolyn and sonu911 I am with you!!! I am doing all injections myself also... I am going to try some topical gel soon to see if that numbs the area any better than ice will keep you posted.

HI

Thanks Wishfull!

FSH is Follicle Stimulation Hormones. I will be doing Repronex and Follistim each in the tummy along with the Lupron. The Repornex is the one that kind of creaps me out. You have to mix it, change the needle, then inject.

Good Luck to everyone! Hope everyone great success.

Hi, I am new to this site. I will be doing my baseline u/s June 9th and start shots from the 12th. I have POF so RE is doing microflare for me this time. I had numerous failed IUI, a cancelled IVF once due to low response, a failed IVF with donor and now trying microflare.
is anyone doing microflare?? with 3 weeks of BCP, then sprefect(0.05) and puregon shots(350IU)??

This is an amazing site. you are all wonderful to be moms - hope all your dreams come true.
