Hi Nikki
I think like all things in life that offer great rewards, they also include some element of risk.. IVF is one of those..
The things that u have heard, that it can take atoll on relationships, well yes, but would depend on how solid and committed to it you both are. Also depends on how long you are trying for. My husband has been incredibly supportive, and many IVF hubbies are. IVF can be emotionally draining, its a bit of a rollercoaster, as it takes up a lot of your time and energy to go through a cycle, but when you finally get a positive result, its all worth it!!
My advice if u r worried on the way it may affect your relationship, is to keep talking about your feelings to each other, your partner will be the closest to you in this, although your friends and fam will be able to offer support ( if you choose to tell them). Even so, I've found that it can feel like a lonley place sometimes, as even hubby doesnt experience what you go through physically and emotionally, as they are one step removed.
Good that u have joined up!
I have only found this place after three cycles, wish I had found it sooner!!
