Anyone's beta double every 72 hours instead of 48?

Hi all -

My betas have been doubling every 72 hours, instead of 48. Actually, there was one dip (May 19) that wasn't good and didn't see a double, but after today's result, part of me is starting to get hopeful again. Just when I wrote this first IVF off, I get somewhat good news .. argh. So now I'm looking for positive stories

May 12: 120
May 16: 310
May 19: 490
May 22: 1006

After May 19, I just expected it to be over. I had an u/s on May 20, my RE saw a small gestational sac, all he expected to see with my beta at around 500, and he said, "I'm not giving up, we've had some weird things happen with IVF betas, so let's just see how this goes."

When my nurse called today, I was hoping she'd say - your beta was 100, and you can stop taking your meds. I just want to be out of limbo. Instead, she said the numbers looked ok and we're going to schedule an u/s and more b/w for Tuesday.

Has this happened to anyone?? My nurse said they've had some "shaky" starts after IVF that have turned out ok....

While my experience isn't exactly similar to yours, I also started with a fairly low beta -- 84 at 13dp3dt. My beta then jumped to 175 (I believe it was two days later but could have been three). My final beta was 1050 on day 22.

Like you, I was really stressed initially but everything has worked itself out. I spoke to the doctor when my beta of 84 was really scaring me and he told me a story about one of his patients whose beta was 22 13dp3dt. She went on to carry healthy twins!!

Sometimes, I believe the betas cause more stress than relief. Don't worry and be happy with your 1000+ number!! I think that's a great sign.

I had a FET on April 15th. My embryo's were 5 day blasts.

April 24th - 38
April 28th - 291
April 30th - 778
May 5th - 3567
May 12th - 17096

Not sure if that helps. I am now 8W2D.

My first beta was only 62 on day 12 or 14 and I ended up having twins!

I had really odd betas and was told I was miscarrying, then that I had an ectopic and finally they discovered I had identical twins!

So not even close to double but this tread has given me hope. Have next beta on 24..tomorrow......God please make it work like it worked for others...identical would be sooo much fun...

thank you all sooooooo much for your thoughts!! I really appreciate it . It's been such a crazy roller coaster. In the past few days I have had MAJOR preg symptoms (extreme fatigue, m/s, huge bbs) that I didn't experience with any of my 4 miscarriages but only with my DS pregnancy, 7 years ago, so I'm really getting my hopes up now...

Stressball: doubling beta vibes to you!!! Hang in there - fingers crossed for you! And I hope your RE keeps ordering betas as long as your numbers go up -- regardless of the doubling. If my RE hadn't ordered my 4th beta, I would have given up and stopped my meds after my 3rd beta. I swore it was over. I'm so glad my RE ordered the 4th (and now 5th and an u/s).

My third beta is 490....ITS NOT DOUBLE AGAIN..BUT STILL HAVE HOPE...NEXT BETA IS THURS...I WILL PRAY FOR BOTH OF US..

My first Beta was 10dp3dt on the 23rd & was 75.8, but the 2nd beta was only 178 four days later ( today ) instead of 303.

My next one is Thursday too Stressball so let me know what happens....you too jd.
