rs- is microflare the same as microdose lupron? I am doing microdose lupron, and I did the last time also. It really helped my cycle to go a lot smoother. I did not respond the way they wanted me to on my original cycle, so we went to the microdose.
tarabeltwo- I am also doing repronex, lupron, and follistim. The mixing of the repronex is not that bad. I was worried about messing something up at first, but now I don't even think about it. (this is my second cycle using it)
Chrissy143- I will also be going for my first US on wednesday, let us know how it goes.
jcurlygirl- I think many clinics are starting to go to 5 day transfers. Mine still does both but I think they are moving toward the 5 day. I have always done 3 day, so I assume that is what I will be doing again. It seems like the decision should be left up to you if you want to do two?!
I started my stims on Sunday, and will be going to first US on Wed. It sounds like everyone is getting started. Good luck!
After 7 attempts (2 negatives/3 miscarriages), we have TWO miracle boys!! If you would like to hear our story, please visit http://www.ivfsuccessstories.info. Never give up, it can happen for you!!
I don't know if am considered a "poor" responder. My doctor says I respond a lot less than the typical patient my age. (24) I usually yield about 8-9 follicles and 5-6 eggs at retreival. My first cycle I was not responding very much at all until they increased my dosages. My second cycle I used the micro-dose and I got about the same amount of eggs, but I had a much smoother cycle and was able to use the original dose of meds. ( I did not have to increase this time.)
Good luck with your cycle, hopefully this will help you also. How many cycles have you been through before?
I have never taken puregon, but I am sure it is similar to the others. I am taking repronex and follistim this time around.

I just found this site and was hoping that I could join your group! I have been a part of other message boards in the past & have found the support to be very helpful!!
DH & I are both 28. IVF #1 was cancelled due to OHSS. FET #1 was just completed a few weeks ago but ended in a chem pg. So we are starting IVF #2 this month. Currently I am on BCPs, will be starting Lupron on June 9th. Suppression check is on June 20th & if all is a go, I will start stims then. I am cautiously excited.
I have to run now, off to see a matinee of Sex & The City but I will be back later to check in with you all. I look forward to chatting my way through the process with peeps who understand!
Brit, I am a very weird case. Late 2002 was diagnosed with severe endometriosis and had laparoscopy and my left tube was taken out since it was infected from the endo. Then we started trying again but our doctor has asked us not to waste time as I only had 1 good tube, and suggested I try IVF. When I went to see an RE for IVF he first wanted to try out IUI as I had 1 good tube. At that point after trying a few cycles and with a few cancelled cycles he figured I am premature ovarian failure as my Day 3 FSH was always high (in the range of 11 to 22), and also I never made more than two or 3 eggs with stimulating drugs. My left ovary is better (it always makes a few eggs) while I don’t have the left tube but my right ovary almost never works. So, in 2005 after a lot of disappointments with failed and cancelled IUIs, I took a break, this was May 2005 and in August 2005 I found myself pregnant, naturally, but miscarried on 10th week. With this I found back hope thinking my ovaries must be working to get me pregnant at least once. So end of 2005 I went to a new RE. and tried some IUIs – on and off all 2006 – no success, she didn’t want to try IVF on me as she thought that would be waste of money and drugs - and then in July of 2007 we tried IVF with donor eggs. I tried this in India, and unfortunately it didn’t work for me. BUT surprisingly the next month I got pregnant on my own only to miscarry on the 8th week.
So in March of this year I went back to my RE and asked her to try microflare protocol for me, I found out about this protocol from the ‘high FSH forum/site’ online. So this is my first real IVF you can say, and I really don’t know much about what to expect. I just hope this works for me, hope this cycle works for all of us here in this site…
I was completely lost at first also. I will fill you in on the ones that I know.
AF- "aunt flow" your period
dpt- days post transfer (ex. 3dp5dt - 3 days post 5 day transfer)
bfp- big fat positive (preg. test)
bfn- big fat negative
US- ultra sound
e2- estogen levels
HCG- pregnancy hormone ( used as injectables sometimes)
I'm sure that there are a lot more that I am missing. If you can think of any you have seen let me know and I will try to fill you in.

I hope you don't mind me joining your message board. This is my first IVF cycle. It is all a little overwhelming. My husband and I had been trying to get pregnant for about 9 months. When all of my friends started turning up pregnant, I started to get a little impatient. I started monitoring my ovulation and had the hubby take a sperm test. It came back low and when we went in to see the urologist, my husband was diagnosed with CAVD. On top of that he also had a very high FSH level. Our doctor said that was like lighting hitting us twice, lucky us!
All of this happened at the beginning of May and like a whirlwind here we are. I went in for baseline blood work and ultrasound today and they acted like everything looks good. My target date is July 21st.
I am really worried about the doctor being able to find sperm. It is hard not to jump ahead in this process and worry about all of the things that could go wrong.
I wish you all luck and look forward to going through this with you!

Welcome Jennalea! We have male factor inf. also, and our doctor says that they only have to find a few good sperm to make it work. Don't start worrying already, you've got a long journey ahead of you. When will you be starting your stim. meds?
Good luck with everything.

There are so many new people on this board. Welcome everyone. I get to start my Lupron on Thursday. YEAH!!! Can't wait for all those injections. I go for U/S and B/W on the 18th and hopefully start stims right after that. My RE seems to be different then most in that I don't do BCP's. I don't mind at all. Though it does seem that most people seem to cycle quicker then I do. I think I am on Lupron longer then most. O'well, as long as it works. Well hopefully everyone has a good week.
