MAY/JUNE CYCLE BUDDIES!!

cocosmomma Last time, my first AF after the one immediately following the cycle was 32 days. I'm a regular 28 day person too. I think that's totally normal...just the body trying to get back into the swing. Then the one following that was back to 28.

I just got AF today...happy to say that with the TCM, the cramps have been very small compared to last time when I was bent over double. Yeah! One positive

susivf1 My constipation was bad from the PIO. I drank a glass of warm water with lemon 1/2 hr before eating or drinking anything in the morning. Also prunes and some mild fiber tabs in the morning and at night. It got back to normal when I stayed on it.

Queenie Those look nice! And they're all a similar size which makes it easier for them to gage the trigger.

Queenie Looking good girl. Those are some nice follies you got there. What was your last E2 and what day of stim was it?

I had my u/s done again today. That darned big follie is stealing the show and not letting any more come up on the right side. She said they are there, lot of them and so close to being measureable but that one is hogging everything. So, my right side is 19,15,14 & my left side is 15,13,12,11,10. My lining is 9.9 and tri pattern. So I am up to 8 measureable follies. The nurse said she would like to see my E2 in the 600's today, I dont know about that?!?!?! I'll keep saying all day "big #'s big #'s" I go back tomorrow and they want to see at least 2 more come up. Grow follies grow!!!!

Just got the call from the nurse My E2 was only 293
They are upping my Gonal F to 225 just for tonight and tomorrow AM to see what happens tomorrow.

Not good...so depressing. What could be the reason why the E2 is not climbing? I know that it has to do with the eggs, but could it be because I've had a history of high FSH? My last day 3 FSH came back normal, but all my previous ones where high (or borderline) so the RE was not going to treat me as a high FSH patient. I wonder if he would have if things would have been different???

Hi Dakota - I'm so sorry to hear all you're going through on this and I wish you the best at tomorrow's E2 testing. How much Gonal F were you on before they moved you to 225?

Angram...I was on 150 of gonal-f. My previous RE (before I switched to this guy) said when they time came for IVF I would have to have extra FSH during stims. I dont know...

My FSH runs between 10-12 (fairly high) and my previous cycle did not use enough Gonal F, which was 150 per day. I was in a med study and that was the most I was allowed to get, but it just wasn't enough. I ended up with 7 eggs, but it definitely wasn't the number my RE was looking to achieve. The bump up to 225 will probably help yours along though, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed everything looks good tomorrow and you'll be on your way to ER.

Hi Dakota - stay positive...I think it should all work itself out for ya...I started stimming last Thursday (3/29) and today was my first u/s where they measured anything...I don't remember what she said my E2 was at, but it was normal whatever it was...I start Gonal-f tonite (150 units) so i will take that along w/ the Lupron...fun fun...

Dakota hang in there. Sounds like maybe they should have done a flare protocol on you. It's supposed to give them a bit more of a kick in the pants which starts more of them up at the beginning. But you have a high antral count which means you should have good egg reserves which is why they didn't. It's a frustrating process which is why it takes several tries most of the time. Every person is different even if they have the same numbers.
The E2 isn't high because of the eggs...they are not maturing as well as they should and some of the follies may not have eggs.
Upping the meds should help a lot & hopefully 19 will stop hogging.
I did a whole bunch of research on all this because of my eggs, so hopefully this helps.

Thanks guys!! I talked to the nurse again and she said that I'll meet with the RE on Thurs and if I feel like I dont have a positive vibe about my eggs/#'s I can choose to cancel and try something different next month. I know this may sound crazy, but I think I would be able to cope better by having a canceled cycle that didnt seem like it was going well than to have 9 eggs extracted that were poor quality and have it failed. If I have a little bit of control over it at least. We'll see how upping my dosage goes and how tomorrow and Thursday goes. She said she's seen E2 numbers tripple over night and take off. Its a guessing game. Pretty pricey guessing game!!!

Thanks again for the replies and support. I dont seem to be getting any work done as this is all I am thinking (obsessing) about.

Dakota That increase in GonalF will probably do the trick. My E2 came back at 119 on Friday and she upped my GonalF to 300 (from 225), my E2 went up to 640 and all my follies caught up Monday it was 1841 and I had went from 10 follies last week to 15 or so....WOW! So again, praying that the increase in GonalF does the trick for you

My day has been uneventful....my hip HURTS!!! My ovaries hurt, I feel constipated (although I'm having regular movements), I'm nervous and gassy LOL

So I'm sitting here drinking some Plum Smart juice, a glass of water and just ate a dried peach and a handful of dried plums/prunes....maybe that'll head off that anesthesia tomorrow.

I got some Lemonheads for the nausea caused by progesterone, grape juice for after ER and some candy....LOL That was just for my comfort

They were out of pineapple though, so none of that.

Well, hopefully I'll feel like signing on tomorrow...if not I'll sign on with an update on Thursday after I get back from getting my progesterone

Hi everyone

For those awaiting AF, stimming or 2ww....i hope you are all well and thundering towards your BFPs!

I trigger tonight and have EC on Thursday. At my US yesterday I had 5 and 1 follicles. This is 1/3 of the follicles I had the last time. DH just pointed out that I had Lymphatic Drainiage massage in the weeks before my last IVF. I am wondering if that helped with my egg production last time.

I am hoping you will be able to give me some PMA. I am now really worried that after EC on Thursday they will find no mature eggs.
Rinnie, as the resident expert in eggs, do you have any idea if egg quality is affected by total number of follicles?

Is anyone else EC on Thursday?

cwrj00 Ha...resident egg expert, that's funny. As far as I know the number of follies has nothing to do with egg quality. I had the same number both times & wildly different egg qualities. The second time was much better.
Hormones are just different each month...you know sometimes AF is awful, sometimes not. So, the body responds differently to the stims.
Were you more stressed this month? That can throw the hormones out.

And you know reading this board, sometimes people with 30 eggs end up with only a handful being good.
So, just stay positive!! No idea about the lymphatic massage, unless it's supposed to balance hormones.
My AP & herb do that which gives me some feeling of control that the hormones will be similar each month & I'll get the same follies. Maybe the massage did something like that, don't know.

cocosmomma - It might be nerves? Does your RE want you to have AF before they will start? My RE didn't care if it came or not. He said starting at BCP they had full control of they cycle and it didn't matter. weird?

To all the constipated girls - I feel like I have been stopped up since ER. It must be the progesterone, but it is surely not fun. I will try the poop paste for sure. yum . Even better is I have 8 more weeks of shots! Not that I am complaining.

My 2nd beta is today. They will call by 4. I am jut hoping I got some big numbers and everything is going well. I'll let you guys know later tonight.

cocosmomma - my cycle was a bit later after my first BFN as well - took a month or so for my body to re-adjust itself...hope AF arrives soon for you.

Rinnie - congrats on AF arriving - although not the ideal outcome it definately puts "closure" to a cycle and lets you begin moving forward again! Hope you are feeling well.

A few girls mentioned constipation! I hear that noise - it was bad egg retrieval day and 2 days after but seems to be working itself out today etc.

Transfer went well this morning...once again the doc used their chart by age/embryo quality and said giong by that they would transfer 1!!! Last time we asked for 2 so she had no issue w/ 2 again so we transferred 2 8 cell with 0 fragmentation - she said they were the highest quality we could have...when we mentioned putting in 3 the look on her face said it all- she said "absolutely not - you're asking for trouble". IN a way I guess they feel our quality is great and we should have success but that was the same story last cycle...she said if this cycle fails my RE shoudl do an endometrial biopsy/chromosome testing etc. BUT we are not going to fail...this is it I feel really good this cycle much calmer and positive so BFP here we come!!

Last cycle we didn't take a picture of our embryos this time we did - I already stare at it and talk to them! I feel so attached to them already and they are not even a "baby" yet...I'm goign to talk to them and pray to them every day...
