hi girls,

Sorry been MIA ~ haven't had much to report on really, but do read and saw Stephs post.

Steph, I can't imagine how worried you must be - you need to rest and take it easy and if the spotting gets worse, insist to have everything checked out - for these nurses and dr's it's all routine for them. Did they check where your placenta was? sometimes a low lying placenta can cause spotting too but as long as you are not in pain and have no cramps, I'm sure it just those two inside giving you a little grief!!

Hey its your birthday soon too - hope you have a good one.

Jayne - you poor thing, are you likely to be induced early as its twins? You haven't got long to go.....keep those feet above the head and chill - thank god its not too hot at the moment.

Hope - so glad your risk of m/c has gone down - as each week goes by, you can slowly breath out a little.

Rachel - 6 wks already, boy doesn't time fly - how is little Ruby? You must post more piccies soon.

As for me, not much happening - just getting bigger by the week, although thankfully haven't put on loads of weight - but today felt like my tummy couldn't possibly stretch any further!! Starting to get tired again at the end of the day (another reason for not posting - too shattered) and finding walking is becoming uncomfortable too - Beanie seems to have a habit of lying in the most uncomfortable position when I walk!!

On the nursery front, the cotbed/dresser is ordered and due to arrive in Aug (yeah I know same time as baby) but thinking that we don't need it from day 1 as it will be in with us. My friend is giving me her swinging crib so just need to buy a new mattress, the travel system (pram/car seat etc) is on order and I've started buying bits and bobs when I see them on offer (oh for the UK girls - sainsburys has lots of johnson babies items on 50% off til 4th June).

Leave work on the 27th June so just 4 wks to go - yeppeeeeeee kinda make that about 18 days (taking into account scans/ midwife appts/antenatel class  ).

Have a 32wk scan booked for 10th June which is also our 4th wed anni too so looking forward to seeing little beanie again.

Thats about it.

big hugs steph

Nims Beach and Hope and everyone else, hello!

They said in the first US that the Baby A placenta is hanging lower, but it is not like right on top of the cervix. the first US tech said it could possibly be causing issues. They said they will just watch it and if it does not come up by 20-24 weeks then they will modify my activity.

Still having the brown spotting, but that is old blood. Having a rough achy day at work, which worries me, but I know that I am growing and t hings are going to ache. It is not what I would call cramping just aches that are relieved by sitting like my back every once in a while hurts. I called to let my doc office know today that the brown spotting is still taking place but no real cramps. I will call the doc office tomorrow if my back is still aching. It just feels like the aches I was having when things started growing.

I just wish I could have US weekly at this point. It just scares me but I try not to think about it. If I was not going to the bathroom 20 times a day I would not have to t hink about it right? :) The nausea is almost pretty much gone. I have not really felt it over the last couple of days. Still have the sore boobs but feel more energetic except for my work days. Just one more day t his week on Thur and then I am off for 8 days. I get to go next Friday for a check of my cervix and I think they take a peek at the babies as well so that will reassure me.

How is everyone else doing? I am sorry I have not been more attentive. Just trying to keep my mind off of what is going on, even though I am sure everything will be ok. I just need a 2 week mandatory bedrest from my doc. :) That translates into a 2 week vacation. :)

Steph, it is scary but there will be aches and pains and they are generally growing pains - I can remember I had severe pain on my right side which were my ligaments stretching and that lasted for weeks - however completely understand that it's always in the back of your mind and you can't relax - so I won't even tell you to do so !

The sore boobs do generally go - mine aren't that sore anymore, just like melons ! and think I started to get more energy about the same time too. Its good that you have some time off so you can put your feet up.

And don't forget you have two little ones so double trouble and all that! Take care

Hi Ladies
Sorry its been so long since I've posted.
Steph, sorry to hear you're having some problems but it I'msure everything is just fine. I had a lot of aches and twinges in the early weeks and it is just everything stretching and growing. With twins it must be worse. I hope the spotting stops soon, try to rest while you're off work.
Although the aches and pains change I don't think they really go completely. I've been having a lot of pain in my ribs, just on one side. Its hard to explain but sometimes is like a burning, stinging sensation under the skin and my skin is numb on the surface. I think its caused by baby's bum under my ribs and is only relieved if I can get him/her to move for a bit. I find I'm leaning back to relieve the pressure which then makes my back ache too.
Other than that I'm still feeling well. My feet and ankles are swelling on work days but aren't too bad when I'm off. I'm so glad I reduced to 3 days as even that is making me pretty tired. Only 2 and a half weeks left at work now (8 days) - I can't believe it
I think that's all my news. Its good to hear from everyone else.

steph - just popping in to see how things are with you - hope all is ok.

Su - hey stranger - great to hear from you - can't believe a) you are on reduced days and you leave work soon tooo - I'm green with envy - I still on 5 days a week and have 3 more weeks - think i need to sort this out!!

Thankfully haven't had the rib problem, baby's head is pointing downwards and bum and back are on the left side so it does all it's kicking on the right so not too painful!

Becks - sorry hun - I did get your texts but it was whilst I was in italy so it took me a while to figure out who it was from and its so expensive to text from abroad and completely forgot (sorry nothing personal - pregnancy head) to come back to you when I got back.

It always takes time after a cycle which hasn't worked but its good that you are looking into another clinic and possibility of another cycle - don't give up hope.

shantala - great to see you back - felt like you'd been gone for ever!

Hope every one else is having a fab w/end

Hello Nims!! Doing well, except i am still having the spotting. It is not a whole lot. In fact I am not wearing a pad most of the time and it is still brown. And the doc said if it is brown and no soaking or excessive cramping to not worry. I go for a cervix check at the high risk doc Friday. I am going to remind them that I have been having some spotting and make sure that they check the babies as well. The nurse there said that they usually do when they do a cervix check. So I really wish that Friday would get here. My belly is way bigger than I thought it would be this early. I have to keep reminding myself that there are two in there. I am trying not to worry about the spotting but it gets to me every once in a while. I have had a terrible head cold the last couple of days and saline nasal spray does freaking nothing for me. Any suggestions from anyone? I need a good nights sleep. I have either not been falling asleep or waking up every 30 minutes to an hour. I have been taking Tylenol for my headaches and leg aches (restless legs) but still afraid to take sudafed even though it is on my list. I am trying to avoid it until after 16 weeks if at all possible.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Hope to catch up with all of you soon.

Steph wish I could wave a magic wand and friday is here for you - the waiting part is agony but I'm sure everything is ok especially as its brown and only very light spotting - easier said than done though.

Sure you have a cold?? Pregnancy can bring out cold like symptons - I've had the worse blocked nose for ages - seems to be going but at night, couldn't breath felt like I had a really bad cold. As for the restless legs hun - well - sorry they continue all the way through - I have found if I walk alot during the day they are not so bad at night and I sleep better too. Take care - thinking of you for Friday. xx

Rachel - how lovely to hear from you - I hope that Ruby's injection went ok today.

I had my 32wks scan today and little one was facing us so got a good piccie of the face - boy does it bring it home! Everything ok, baby growing nicely and on track as they say.

Nims - I'm so jealous, I don't get any more scans, just got to wait for baby to arrive. I haven't even had a midwife appt for 4 weeks! Don't you think, sometimes another 8 weeks seems ages away and then other times I can't believe how soon my life will change for ever.

Rachel - I hope Ruby's injection went ok. It sounds like she's doing great and feeding like a pro. I've got quite a lot of the baby stuff now but still waiting for the pram to arrive. I'm not planning on sorting out the nursery and washing the clothes etc til I've finished work as I'm worried I'll be bored if I do it all too soon. Keep thinking I should get my bag ready tho', just in case

Stephjim - I know just how you feel with the cold symptoms as I had several colds in the early weeks. My sinuses still aren't great so apart from waking up to the bathroom I'm also waking needing a drink 'cos I'm breathing through my mouth all night. Sorry, I haven't got an answer either. I'm also getting restless legs and really hot feet at night. Some nights I have to get up and stand in the shower and run cold water over my feet for a while so I can get to sleep
I hope the spotting's easing off, I'm sure everything will be fine on Friday.

Jayne - How are you doing? You can't have long left now

Shantala - thanks for checking in on us. I hope you had a great time in Germany. It must have been lovely to show off Ellie to the rest of her family and I bet she loved all the attention.

I've been doing some relaxation classes which have been really good (much better than the ante-natal classes). They cover things like pelvic floor exercises, breathing techniques and positions for labour then finish with us all laying on the floor, propped up on pillows whilst we learn to relax. It's so relaxing I'm sure I'd have fallen asleep today if it wasn't for the baby kicking so much.
Got my next midwife appt on Thursday (at last), its been 4 weeks since the last one so I'm dying to hear the heartbeat again - not that I'm worried as baby is moving around plenty. I'm keen to see howbig I'm measuring now as at 28 weeks whe said I was measuring more like 30. Does this mean I'm having a big baby? Or can you have a big bump with an average size baby? I'll see what she says on thursday.
