Hi all JCB's

So sorry that I haven't posted for ages, I have been a really cr@p cycle buddy haven't I! So many things have happened to you all since my last post.

Aly - what fab news about the donor, but you never know you might not need it yet! Fingers crossed.

Traci - what a sweetie you are to take the time to email us all a little message on your post. Hope all is well for you at the mo, get that lucky candle out as we all really need it!

Dawn - my buddy I am here!!! I guess you are having EC today so am thinking about you loads and hoping it is going ok and that it didn't hurt too much. The painters have now gone and Bliss is back to being a chocolate dog. She really misses them though and is sleeping during the day and being a little devil in the evening and wanting to play all the time!

Gem - what fab news on your embies, hope the ec was not as traumatic as you thought it might be. Try and stay chilled.

Hope the rest of you are doing well, Miche, Loupy, Jackie, Nicky - have I missed anyone?

Well, my news is that we are having EC on Tuesday at 10.30am and then I guess ET on Thursday! Need to decide which cd to take in with me! Will have profasi injection on Sunday night at 11.30pm - so that's good, not too late. Only 2 more nights of injections with suprefact and menopur, which is just as well as my legs are getting balck and blus - Jackie I don't know how you have coped for so long on the burserilin!

I too will have to put the pessaries up my back bottom, not used to this used to them going in the front way, so we'll see how we get on.

Just to let you know that I might not be able to email next week unless I can get my ISP sorted out on my laptop, so might be out of touch for a while, but I will think of you all.

Let's hope we have a bumper month of positives!

Lots of love and hugs
Helen.

Hi
I found out today that out of the 6 embroys, 4 of them are at the right stage, 2-4 cell I think, and hopefully by tomorrow they will have divided to the 6-8 stage when I'll have 2 replaced.
Fiona, so lovely to hear from you as always, I didn't realise that you only had one good embie....so you are proof that it only takes one. How are you feeling sweetie? Not too long to go now....so excited for you and Les.
Aly good luck for your meeting tomorrow - I'm sure it will be fine.
Loupyloo - good luck with the injections (hope they don't hurt too much).
Gem, I completely agree the 2ww is a nightmare....I've got everything crossed for you and will hopefully be joining you tomorrow.
Jen, Sue, Dawn and anyone I've missed have a great weekend....we'll get there soon!
Love, Miche x

Hi everybody
Dawn -hope everything was ok today, and you are not feeling too rough.

Had my day 11 scan today, biggest folicle is 14 mm so I have another scan on Monday. Had a nice chat with the nurse who put my mind at ease, I take 8 different medicines excluding ivf drugs so I was a bit worried about this but she said I just take them as usual on the day of egg collection so this has relaxed me a bit. She also let me keep the ultrasound pic printout, so it is in my bag and I will carry it with me everywhere. I only ever had one folicle with Clomid over 30 months (stop and start) and 3 small folicles during first ivf attempt in October so feel a bit more positive.

Good luck to everyone having embryos put back over weekend, I am thinking of you all.

Hi Guys

I have been off line for a couple of days!! I have missed sooo much!!! God we are all doing so well - Dawn, Michelle, Gem!! Keep up the good work!! Scorry, Jackie, ALy and anyone i have missed - hope all is well!!??

As you know DH had his biopsy on Wed and I had my EC on Thursday. EC went well - 19 eggs 9 of which fertilized and today 8 are going well. The very sad news is that they found no sperm in DH (Sertoli Cell Only Syndrome) so we went ahead with our donor back up for which we are very greatful.

Anyway they have recommended that we wait til Tuesday (all being well tomorrow) until they are blastocytes so we stand the best chance.

I am still feeling very tender and bloated (Is this normal!!??)

Hope everyone is feeling ok and my thoughts are with you guys on the 2WW!

Hi All
Well I have started injecting and clomid due back at the clinic next Friday to see how things are going. Had a really long chat about egg quality and embryo quality and basically my body is functioning normally all my hormone levels are in normal range. So Doc basically thinks that it is the environment within the ovary and basically there is nothing they can do to improve quality. He was pretty good and said that you could never say never to having a baby with my embryo's but he said we would probably be wasting money trying the IVF route and he expects the outcome to be the same as last time (1 grade3 2 grade 4) I have decided to give this IUI the best chance that I can and so went to see a chinese herbal Doc today and have started on acupuncture and a herbal concotion which I take morning and evening. So I feel I've given this last attempt everything!!
Sorry to go on, Gem 1 week to go keep positive and stop analysing!!!
Dawn well done for getting through let us know how your embies get on Jen good luck with the transfer. Scorry good luck with FET Jackie hang in there remember it only needs one good embryo! Michelle hope ET has gone well and the 2WW is not a drag! Helen SO great to hear from you I was getting very worried!! E/C Tuesday will be thinking of you. Right had better go and make up the next batch of herbs the other half has done a runner as he can't stand the smell at least he doesn't have to drink it!!
Take care all big hugs

Hi Lovely Girls
Well I am now on the dreaded 2ww. I had 2 embies put back today, one was a perfect 8 cell and the other was marginally less - they graded them as 4 and 3+. The transfer was much easier this time than last and the dr. was really pleased about that. For the first time ever I had 2 embies to freeze....they were both at the 6 cell stage, so a little sluggish, but they said we had nothing to loose so we went for it.
We had such a good omen when we were in the room, the dr. put on some music and it was my favourite piece, Canon's Pacabel, I almost started crying there and then on the table, as that piece always makes me feel so emotional....we loved it so much we even had it at our wedding!
Anyway I'm having a really quiet few days, feet up on sofa, dh waiting on me hand and foot (we'll see how long that lasts!) and until I am bored out of my tiny mind and read all the trashy magazines - Heat, Closer, New etc.
Aly, I have done acupuncture for the past 6 months or so as apparently it really helps. I even saw the acupuncturist today for 20 minutes of needles before e/t as apparently having the needles before and after treatment can improve success rates. There was a German study carried out with a group of women who did acupuncture, and a group who didn't (they all had the same intertility criteria - age, health etc), which said that women who had acupuncture before and after showed a significantly higher success rate than those who didn't - and at this stage I'm willing to try anything. I'm seeing her again tomorow. I'm also taking baby aspirin which I've never done before and this time round I'm having injections every other today in the bum (lucky dh) instead of the pessaries. The other thing I have been doing for the past 5 months is seeing a Kineseologist, who tests what you are lacking of in your body/have too much of. Interestingly enough he told me that he is not suprised that I had a m/c first time round as my body didn't have nearly enough folic acid to support a pregnancy....anyway he put me on a whole bunch of stuff, including a different folic acid, called Folacal and a different pre natal care (which is not available in the shops) and told me to cut out dairy(I'm having soya instead now) and sugar (which I'm doing my best with as I have PCOS)
Wow, Gen 19 eggs, that is great - and congratulations on the Donor - to have 8 embies still going well is brilliant - good luck with everything - I'm still feeling marginally tender and I had e/c on Wednesday morning so I don't think you need to worry, but if you are just check in with your hospital, I'm sure they will put your mind at rest!
Dawn, well bloody done, I know how worrying the whole thing is - you must be so relieved now.
Have lovely weekends and love to everyone.

Hello Michelle

We have not spoken before but I had to just say, I had that music at my wedding too as it's the most beautiful piece of music I have heard. Walking down the aisle towards my wonderful DH with it playing was magical. When I watch the video it sends shivers down me 4 and a half years on. It must have been wonderful having it played during your ET. I really hope that is a good sign and that it all works out for you. We all deserve some happiness and non so more than us IVF'ers.

Good luck to all you girls having your treatment or preparing to. I'm sending loads of +++++++++++++++++++++vibes through the waves.

Love Dagny x

Hi Everyone!

Well, they thawed out 6 of my 9 yesterday, 5 survived and I have had the best 3 out back in today. One had gone from a 3 cell to a 6 from yesterday another 2 to 4 and the other was at 4 cell. If it works it will be a miracle as today has been a NIGHTMARE!!!

The clinic told me that they would call around 9.30, by 10.45 we still hadnt heard so called them. Given the good news and told to come in. We explained that the train took around an hour etc. Anyway we get to the station to find that they have enginering work on the line and we have to get a bus to Oxted. Start going along and my Dh says'hes going a funny way'. Anyway after about 10min the driver turns round and says 'does anybody know this area?'. He was lost! :x Does a 3 point turn and back we go! Then he brakes so sharply peoples bags etc fall off the seat, to avoid going into the back of a car turning right! When we finally get to Oxted he goes sailing past the signs for the station(only blind bus driver in existance) but eventually we get the train and arrive into Victoria an hour late!
Then Dh decides we will get a cab to the Lister, stands in the queue for the cash point and when it is his turn to get to the machine it says'sorry this machine is not in service'!!!
Finally get to the clinic at 2.30(we left home at 11.30!) to find it resembling the Marie Celeste. A porter asked what we were doing and we told him, and he said 'they are shut'!! To which I replied 'they'd better b****y not be!'
Off he goes to find someone, who turns out to be the top man, who ends up scanning me(usually the nurses job!) whilst the doc pops my embies in!! Bonus on this is that we had a good 1/2 hr in the room relaxing after as there was no one there! :)
I guess you just have to laugh, but it has to be as far removed from your Et today Michelle as you can get!
Anyway......
Dawn, glad you got through yesterday ok, I was thinking of you, now have a relaxing Norfolk weekend and good luck for Monday!
Gem, am now with you and Michelle on the 2ww, I had bad pains last IVF but they were wind( I took windease). Maybe its the little guys 'digging in' Hope so!
Helen, good luck with your EC, Jackie good luck with your scan Mon, Jen F good luck for ET Tues and anyone else I have missed!
Really could do with a glass of wine to chill, but guess I wont!

Love Sue xx

Hi all

Jen, well done 19 eggs thats amazing!! No wonder your still sore and bloated. Good luck for Tues I'll be thinking of you. If it's any consolation I'm also very sore and am walking like I've s**t myself  DH has measured 2 and a half litres of water out and is forcing it down me, I think I might be drowning!
Michelle, I'm really glad your ET went well. I'll soon be on the dreaded 2ww with you. Have already read loads of trashy mags today and am getting bored!
I've taped Casualty so I've got something to look forward to tomorrow - how sad is that!!!
Sue, You poor thing what a nightmare day!!just imagine how funny your little one(s) will find it when you tell them what happened on the day of your et!! :)
Aly, your a brave girl taking the chinese herbs! I really hope they do the trick.
Dagny, hope your and your precious bump are well.
Shell, come on girl get a move on, have a nice hot curry that should do the trick!!
Hope your all having a great weekend.
Am now off for another pessary - my life is just rock n roll at the moment!!!!
Love to you all

Hi everybody

Just wanted to let everyone know I am thinking of you. It is really strange -I don't know any of you but you all feel like part of my life now, this site is always the first thing I check whenever I turn my laptop on.

So goodluck to Dawn tomorrow, Sue, Gem & Michelle I hope you are relaxing on your 2ww, Jen F and Helen good luck with ec and et this week, and anyone else I have missed!

John and I are going my best friend's son's christening this afternoon. It is very special because it also celebrates his adoption. He is 2 years old so not too sure how he will react to the water, but he does know it is his very special day. They are having a party and disco afterwards and they are very excited. They have been through so much heartache the past 3 years -their little boy died, they deserve this happiness so much, it really does give us hope.

Can't believe how positive I am feeling today, bet I'll be a nervous wreck again once the drugs kick in. I realised last night that whenever I take Menopur (6pm) I totally lose it and become really wound up at the slightest thing, John doesn't know what to do, everything he does seems to make things worse. Hopefully we get good news tomorrow and I can relax a bit.

Anyway, bye for now

Jackie :P
