My best advice would be to contact an IVF clinic in your area, one that has good statistics and meet with the doctor and discuss your options.
It does take a while to go through all the tests and to be cycled, so if you're serious about it, I would start now.
Here's a link to a website that will list the success rate of the clinics in your area. That will help you make an informed decision.
Your question is rather large, so I'm not sure what else to tell you. If you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask.
Good luck on your journey.

Stephanie: I know where you are right now! I had a tubal about 3 years ago after my 1st husband passed away. My DS was a little under 4 when his dad died. I didn't want to think about that ever happening again, so I decided to have the tubal thinking I would never find someone to go through that with again. Then of course, I met my new DH. We got married in March and we knew we wanted kids right away. He doesn't have kids, and I'm not getting any younger! We considered a reversal, but my DH is diabetic, and his SA showed he has poor morphology so it would be unlikely for us to get pregnant after a reversal, so IVF was our only option. I went in thinking it would be easy since I had a DS the natural way, so IVF should be even better. I got a BFN with my 1st cycle though and was devastated. I am now about to start cycle #2. Just make sure when you go into this, you realize it doesn't always work the 1st time, no matter why you are having IVF done. Don't get me wrong, I have seen plenty work the first time too! Cycle #1 seems to be like a test cycle to find out how your body reacts to the meds. So just make sure to find a great RE and ask LOTS of questions. I wish you the best though! It is great that you have decided to have another!
I agree with JHarris. My husband had cancer and the chemo effected his sperm count. We had our frist cycle in Jan of this year. It was canceld 1/2 way through which was very hard for me. But we decided to give it another shot in April and we just found out that we are pregnant with twins. So if you do decide to give IVF a try dont be discouraged if the first time doesnt try. My doctor told me that the first time is more a less a trial to figure out houw your body responds to the meds. The good news is that if it doesnt work the first time you only have to wait 2 months or so before you can try again.
Its a stressful, emotional and physically demanding process but well worth it.
