Oh that is too funny.....my dogs are like that, they are so comforting though. You are way braver than me....I did all my own shots, up until trigger and then I just couldn't do it. It didn't hurt, it's just an odd spot and that needle is scary going IM. You should feel very accomplished...you'll be a pro in no time :)

Hello! Sorry I wasn't back on the board with an update yesterday. My boss and her boss' boss were in town, and I have been occupied!!

Smattison - Congrats!

Queenie, Dakota and Prawnster - Holy cow! All of you going in for ET on Friday...that is so exciting! How many are each of you transferring? Are you planning bed rest afterwards? If so, for how long? Will be thinking of you...lots of sticky vibes!!

MzTia - Good luck! That is a quick trigger!! Hoping for all the best for you!

Imblessed - Can't wait to hear the official BFP results tomorrow!! Good luck girl...have you used the last of the HPTs yet?

Kimmy and HopinginPA - So sorry to hear the news from both of you. Take to time to regroup and get your PMA back...Looking forward to BFPs for both of you sometime soon!

Turtles - Glad to hear the stimming is going well! I'm so excited for you!!

Well, I have to make dinner (just kidding, dinner just arrived at the door :) ) so I have to run...but here's what happened yesterday:

Cyst is still there, but has not grown (shrunk just a tiny bit). Estrogen level was 57.3 on day 2...and they gave me the go-ahead t start the stims!!!!!!!! I did my first shot of Follistim tonight (150) and reduced the lupron to 2.5. I cannot believe I'm stimming...it's a little unreal...I'm supposed to start talking to my follies and encouraging them to grow...but I can't believe it's real!! I'm really excited! I go in on Friday for a check...which seems early...seems like most of you have gone in on day 4 or 5....maybe it's because of the weekend? Anyway...I will have a very early report on Friday morning.

Thanks to all of you for your support and encouragement....when my cycle was canceled on the day I was supposed to start stims last month, I was SO disappointed...I never thought I would be back stimming on this board with all of you...Thanks, ladies!!

Thanks for the update AdsGirl and i am really pleased for you that you are starting stimming tonight. I have a blue furry duck called EggBert and he is my official egg protector. He sits on my tummy and talks to the eggs and then after ET talks to my embryos. It is a nightly (without fail) superstition and even comes to the hospital as well. I did this when I had my 2nd IVF (which worked) and also lent him to my friend to sit on her tummy after ET - she had Twins 6 months after my son. So I may be barking mad but whatever helps! As for my first check after starting Stims, it is not done until day 8. My protocol seems so different in many ways - we don't even do Betas. Anyway great to have you back in the game
I am having 2 embies transferred as that is the max if under 40yrs and I will take it easy over the weekend but not bedrest. Friday I will prob glue myself to the couch just to make sure they don't fall out, haha

Rubylee - thanks, you have made me feel better. Wow 40 eggs is a lot! Hope you are taking things easy.

Indie I so understand about the DH thing. It took me 4 years to get Dh on board to IUI's then another 3 years to talk him into IVF.

ftg Wonderful beta #s!! Thats so great, I cant wait for your u/s.

Ruby You are a champion girl for doing your own PIO shot. I am bowing down to you right this min!!

Adsgirl Whoohoo on stimming!! How exciting. Grow follie grow  They probally have you going in early because of your cyst, they may want to keep an eye on them.
Since my ET falls on a Fri I am taking the day off of work, but once I leave ET I am going straight to AP. Then home to the couch  Most of Sat will be resting, but DH wants to go to the drive-in in the evening.
Most likely we'll transfer 2 embies.

I am still awaiting "the call". I had another bad dream last night about my embies. I dreamed that I only had one left and they put it in me and when I was leaving, in the lobby it came back out. I picked it up and went upstairs crying yelling at them.

I am not a fan of progestrone. The memories of being on prometrium is all coming back to me the further along I get into these shots. I am tired, I cant stop peeing. I woke up FOUR times last night to go potty. My dogs were not happy about that because each time I tripped over them. I am starting to get heartburn (I never get heartburn), I am breaking out. I had all of these same effects when I was on prometrium 3 years ago. I am not going to wine too much because its all for a great cause...right!!!

Hope all is well and everyone is having a good day. Its kinda quite lately.

My ET is at 11am tomorrow!! I still dont know how many I have left :x

I am just curious...why wouldnt they want to check my progestrone or E2 levels in the next two weeks? She said that they dont normally do that.

Also, I need to make my AP apt for tomorrow, how long does this take? 15 mins?

Dakota - From what you describe, I am not looking forward to the PIO! Oh well, we do what it takes, right? When you get your BFP, it will all be worth it! I don't know about the tests after ET, but I don't think my RE checks those levels during the 2ww either. I'll be interested to hear what the other ladies have to say about that...Good luck tomorrow! Hope you have some strong embies and that they snuggle right in!!

Rubylee - I can't believe you did your own PIO shots! Wow! I had to stay in Chicago on Tuesday night, and my DH was going to meet me at my hotel between checking in and dinner with my HQ visitors so he could give me my shot then head back north. Well - timing wasn't going to work out, so I told him I'd do it myself...just hours after I was talking with a friend about how I could NEVER give myself my shot. Well...it wasn't that big of a deal at all! Now, my shot was no PIO longass needle, but I still did it myself....maybe I'll be confident enough to follow in your footsteps with the PIO shots! Kudos to you, Rubylee!

hi Girls - I've been MIA for a few days - not feeling great - OHSS yet I come to work??

somewhere it was posted earlier if REs check progesterone/E2 levels during the 2ww...mine does not but it looks like some do so i guess it's a clinic by clinic thing.

I really hope everyone is doing well - sorry for lack of personals I'm dreaming of getting home to bed and I'm getting sick of gatorade!

Irishhope and others that have had frozen embies from a previous cycle but decided to do another fresh cycle instead of FET...can you explain why you made that choice? I have wondered about this for some time...I'm very curious...

Good afternoon ladies!!

Ads: Congrats on stimming!! I had my first BW appt on Day 3 of stims, so I am sure your appointment is normal! I'm glad that nasty cyst is cooperating and not getting in the way! And go you for giving yourself that shot!!

Prawnster: Sorry you ended up with a dragon doctor!! Some docs have NO bed side manner! I think 25 eggs is fantastic! Can't wait to hear the fert report!! EggBert sounds awesome!! Maybe I need an egg protector!

RubyLee: Go you!! I can't believe you had to do the PIO shot yourself!! I would have been freaking out if it was me! I am better with shots when I don't have to see the needle! And yes, it's only money, and you can't take it with you!! :D

Dakota: Girl, you and your dreams!! You are too funny! My doctor checked my progesterone during my 2ww. Every RE is so different though. The ET is really quick! Depending on how busy they are, you should be in and out in no time. It was maybe 30 minutes, and that was getting instructions, looking at the embies, getting undressed, the 2 second transfer, and then I had to lie there for 15 minutes after the transfer before getting up to leave. Good luck tomorrow! Hopefully you still have plenty of great embies to choose from!

queenie: Best of luck to you tomorrow as well!!

SD: Just wanted to wish you luck on your Boards today!!

So me and the DH are going to our bank Saturday morning to see about getting a loan to pay off a big credit card the DH has had for years, and to get a little extra for this cycle. So I guess I will know then if we are going to be able to cycle again soon. Sorry this was such a long post! Had a lot to catch up on as usual!!

AdsGirl - a couple of things

1) my clinic reviews each case of a failed cycle as a "group" and then makes a formal recommendation for next steps - b/c we had a freak thing happen our 1st cycle our clinics embryologists did not freeze our remaining embryos so my RE and the group could not recommend a FET (a pipe burst in the lab at my clinic and they stopped doing E/T and E/R for 2 weeks and sent us to a "neighboring" clinic who froze our embryos)

2) we figured lets get as many eggs out of me at the youngest age possible...

3) the wait inbetween cycles can seem like forever but b/c we thought we were doing a FET and were about to start before the group's recommendation came in we had already waited 3 weeks so it almost killed time without knowing it b/c they make you wait longer fresh to fresh and that drives me crazy

my RE did say he didn't feel overly strongly either way though - he did recommend a fresh but marginally more than a FET ...

I know this is long so sorry but a bit to explain...
