pain after retreival

Post by brit1612 »

I just had my retreival on Tuesday, and I am still having a lot of pain. I called my doc office and the nurse did not seem very concerned. I was just wondering how much pain everyone has experienced after their retreivals? My first IVF I had extreme pain ( I think I had a mild case of ohss), then my second cycle I had no pain at all. I am just wondering what is normal and what is not? Thanks for any input.

I didn't have OHSS but I was in a lot of pain after ER. I had to take a Vicoden just to be able to sleep, I even cried a lot. I couldn't move. My RE didn't seem concerned either. My left ovary which produced 8 follies was very swollen for a while. It got better, sorry about your pain :(

I too had a lot of pain for about a week. For several days after the transfer, I was still hurting. I guess it helped me to take it easy, but it was a pain in the butt, especially since I couldn't use the heating pad or pain meds after the transfer.

Thanks everyone for the input. Glad to know that it seems to be normal. I am feeling a little better now that I am on bedrest. The transfer went really well. We transfered 3 -3day-8 celled embryos that the doctor said were very good quality. Now I am just praying that at least one of them will stick. Thanks again for all the support.
