Chelly - I'm Indian not Native American though, and my husband is all American white boy LOL..

So yeah my foods are a lot spicy and stuff and his food is mostly chicken fingers and not so spicy!!

when we started dating and what not my parents had no clue and when they did find out - they totally disowned me for 7 years didn't talk to me nothing. I had my daughter and my parents/sisters didn't even wanted to see my child till after she was a year old.

It hurt me a lot and i think my dh was hurt a lot more to see me like that and to see them treat him and kid like that!!

it was the most awful thing - well now after 7yrs they have excepted him and yeah they still treat us different but to me family is very important and i want my kids to know grandparents, aunts/uncles..even if they are different..

hence that's the reason i want them to be good kids and polite and not be so narrow minded. but more so good ppl with good up bringing :)

Jenny - Glad to hear your now released to your OB - how's the pregnancy treating you??

Denise - Congrats on your pregnancy - is your pregnancy with singleton is via IUI again??

When did you get big with the twins??

We are looking for cars too something that will be full of space with 3 kids!!!

I dunno about vans - i want something different than van but I guess all depends on car shopping!!

Good luck to you and keep us posted!

Sameera, I'd love to stay in my civic, its great on gas. But no way a third car seat is fitting in there. Even if I could, I still think I'd like a van now, as I think my two year olds will likely be rough on the baby. I'm choosing the space away from eachother over the cool factor... and trust me, I've been fighting getting a minivan from the beginning. Just makes better sense now.

And yup, this is an IUI baby too.

chelly180 wrote:Had my u/s today, I am 9wk1d...now the bean actually looks like a baby! Baby measured 27mm and the heartbeat was 169, RE said everything looks good. I get to start weaning off the PIO next week, I drop back to .5cc then stop on the 28th!! Oh, the 28th will be such a happy day!! I have to go back on the 20th & 30th for more b/w & u/s.
I know I go more often now b/c it's an IVF pregnancy, but how often do you go after you hit 12 weeks? Just curious, this is my 1st so I don't know.
Also, how many of you are having the 1st trimester screening? They keep asking me about it b/c it has to be done by 13 weeks, but I don't know what to do. Regardless of the results, we will not terminate a pregnancy...so does it matter if I get the testing or not? If it was diagnostic and something could be done to fix the problem, then maybe, but for down's & trisomy 18....there is nothing to be done.
What do yall think?
God Bless!

Hi Chelly,

Glad to hear you're doing great. I wanted to respond to the screening question. Adriana is 10 weeks 2 days right now and we had to let her OB know what we were going to do. We decided to go for the non-invasive screenings only. The ones done by blood tests. Like you said, we wouldn't terminate anyway.

Hey girls, I just popped in to say hello. How's my crew doing? Chelly, Nikki, Sameera, Miracle, everyone else?

Adriana is doing great. 10 weeks 2 days. She's getting a little belly and her pants don't fit right. Eating up a storm, sleeping, not sleeping, getting over the nausea mostly, developing quite the set of tata's (lol).

Funny thing happened the other day. She was a little cranky one morning and I just put it down to the hormones. It really didn't bother me at all. Well, I work from home and when she got home that night she was crying because she thought she had been so terrible to me. I hugged her and told he that this baby is making her crazy! She is such a doll...

So, how's everyone been?

He better be dealing with good cause after all my body is going thru a lot of changes!! it's only fair hehe..

Denise - Wow, that's great another IUI baby :) I know my friend she has been going thru IUI's left/right and she has yet to get pregnant. I guess it's just about what protocol works for you!

How's everyone else doing??

Good freaking god my cramps have been coming and going but are so much more intense!! it's wierd i realize my uterus is growing but damn!!..

sameera- I'm glad to hear your family has warmed up to your DH finally! Maybe with the twins coming they will pitch in more...who knows right?! Have you checked out the Honda or Toyota lines of SUV's? I think a few of them have 3rd row seating. I flat out refuse to ever drive a mini-van! I want to be a 'soccer-mom' but sans mini-van! I'm hoping they come out with more lines of hybrid SUV's. My cramps have been much milder now, I figure its more growing pains now.

Jim- Be glad Adriana can eat! My DH calls me "firemonster" b/c I am so moody and I get really crabby when I can't figure out what I want to eat. DH is in California and I hate sleeping by myself. I was on the phone with him last night practically crying b/c I missed him (personally, I think he was glad to get away from me  ) I'm sure all your screening tests will come out fine.

denise- welcome to the thread! I am excited as well about hitting the 12 weeks mark...2 more to go for me! Congratulations on your pregnancy; this is my 1st ever and a singleton also.

drjen- good to hear from you! I was figuring your life was hectic with work and baby! You are so lucky to graduate to your OB; they won't let me go until I'm 12 weeks...so I still have 2 more appts. Are you done with progesterone too? Have you told your family yet?

Oh, so I just found out that DH's nephew (he's 22) is going to be a daddy also...his baby mama is due just 3 weeks after me!!! Talk about awkward! So in-laws will have a grandbaby and great-grandbaby practially in the same month! I know this sounds very selfish and I know its not true, but I feel like they did it on purpose and its a slap in the face to me. Its the hormones talking but I def felt like they stole my thunder. Now I feel like our baby will have to be competing for attention....THEN it dawned on me that this could be a good thing, b/c maybe MIL will be off my back about baby-rearing! I am so evil! But hey, I have to find the silver lining right???

God Bless!

Hi Everyone...

Glad to hear all of you and your beans are doing well.

Yet again it has been over a week since I have been able to sign in. I was in a training room all last week with no access to internet. It was also a longer drive to and from work which made me completely exhausted by the time I got home.

I have been feeling alot better and my m/s is pretty much gone. I am almost 12 weeks which is exciting to know that I will be starting my 2nd trimester.

So i have read all the posts about the new vehicles and i would have to say that I have swore that I would never get a van. (which i don't actually need yet as I am only pregnant with a singleton and don't have any other kids). My best friend rented a stow n go caravan and I have to say it was quite the van. If I needed to get a van that would definitely be the van of choice. She rented it to drive to Florida last year and she had plenty of room. We drove from Toronto, Ontario which is approximately a 24 hours drive. She has 3 kids and was getting married there so she had her wedding dress plus a whole lot of extras and still had plenty of room. It would definitely be something to look into if you are considering a van. She now has 4 kids of her own and daycare's twins that just turned 6.

So living in Toronto they have implemented all pregnant women going for the nuchal Translucency testing. They don't even ask you. I go for my first appointment on June 23rd. I also have already had 3 ultrasounds my last one being Friday June 4th which everything was great. Heartbeat was 171bpm.

Are any of you going to find out the sex of your baby?

Another thing I did hear but not sure how accurate it is is that the 3D ultrasounds can actually be harmful to your baby. I really wanted to do one but not sure after I found out they are testing to see if it is harmful to the babies.

My husband is Canadian and I am Irish/Canadian so I don't have to worry about food to much. We pretty much eat most of the same foods with the exception my husband is not a big vegetable person which can sometimes be a problem. He also doesn't like cooking them so when it's his turn to cook he will normally make me a salad so that he doesn't have to make vegetables. I guess the good thing is that he adds mushrooms, peppers and onions to alot of foods.

I am lucky enough to have a quite a few friends that all have kids already so I am being given a crib and a whole bunch of clothes for the baby depending on whether it's a girl or boy i have a lot of clothes to choose from. I have also been given almost all the maternity clothes I will need as a few of my friends have been pregnant during the same seasons.

I have been told that alot of the new bottles being made because of the BPA and the other warnings will be coming out sometime in september. My best friend said I should wait until after September to start figuring out what I want to use once the new ones come out. I also heard the toy's R us are taking back any bottles you might have without a receipt and give you a store credit for anything else you want to purchase.

Well now that I have took up half of everyone's day with my updates i will take a break and let someone else take over.

Chelly - I'm looking into Honda's and Toyota' but the only problem that I have with SUV's even with 3rd row is that - you still need to take the car seat out and put the second row seat down to let another kid go back on the 3rd seat.

And taking in/out car seats is gonna be a b***h!!! and I don't want to have to keep doing that..

so my next choice would be is VAN - which actually i went and looked at Honda Odessey and it's really spacious and nice. I guess for the kids i am gonna just suck it up and compromise and get it!!! so they can be safe and we can handle it financially...

Sweet - glad to hear you are getting close to your 2nd trimester..I cannot wait to get to my 2nd trimester too!! I will be 12 weeks on June 19th..

I have not heard anything about 3D ultrasound!! I had that done with my first pregnancy and my lil girl is healthy as she can be..

if really they were harmful I would think our OB's would not even recommend doing it.

We have enough to worry about then to stress about these stuff!! shoo I worry everyday trying to figure out if my babies are doing okay and what not.. I'm sure they are my only concern is if they are getting enough nutrition and what not..

sameera- you know, I didn't even think about getting that 3rd car seat back there...well it looks like a mini-van for you!! Hey, you can still look good in it! 8)

monkey- that is interesting that they require you to have the nuchal...you can't refuse? I guess medicine is quite different from here and there. I have heard about the 3-d ultrasounds too....is there scientific data or is it hearsay? Sounds like you luck out in the baby goods dept...we are starting totally from scratch, a lot of people have told me not to buy certain things b/c you don't use them that much. Has canada outlawed BPA or pthalates? I know some European countries have...but of course it may never happen in the US b/c the plastics industry probably has really good lobbyists. Good to hear you m/s is better!

God Bless!

Chelly/Sameera...

Yeah it's becoming protocol here. All OBGYN's send you for the NT testing. Health Care is quite different here as we don't pay. we just show our insurance card and everything is pretty much free. We don't even have a monthly payment!

With regards to the 3D ultraosound my best friend had told me that they were starting to study the effects and that there is a possibility that it can harm your baby but there is no solid proof as of yet but they are working on it.

The Honda Odessey is a nice van but with 3 kids and the possibility of road trips you should definitely check out the space it is phenomenal.

sweetmonkey- do yall get federally paid maternity leave too? was your IVF services covered by govt. health care? I'm curious, cause down here in Texas we pay out the a** for healthcare. It's seriously ridiculous what I pay to cover myself and DH on my insurance plan. DH's doesn't get insurance for work, and according to the govt I make too much money to qualify for medicaid or any other federal funding. Apparently those teeny-boppers who hump like bunnies and squirt out kids left & right get their maternity costs paid for, their food paid for, and formula for the baby. You would cry if you knew what I would pay in insurance premiums to add my baby to the plan I have. (it's more than some people make a paycheck!) :(
sorry to rant, hormones.....

I'm in Canada too, and we get a year govt. paid mat leave. Mind you, we can also split some of it with our spouses, and they can take a parental leave.

IVF is not covered here, unless you are Rx'd completely blocked... something like that. Otherwise it can run up to $10 thousand a cycle with meds included. IUI is covered, except a $200 charge for the semen prep. Hope that helps with the info.

Denise - dang a year paid maternity leave - see why can't we get that in US!! We work our a** off and go thru all the stress and we only gets 6-8wks which I this is bunch of BS ugh!! I wish I was in Canada right now LOL

Jenn- Wow, now that's the insurance card I would like to get that doesn't even have monthly payment!!

I guess I need to move !!!

I'm gonna ask my OB about the 3D stuff - I'd like to know because that's the last thing I want is any of my babies to get hurt by it..

We went car shopping again found the Honda Odyssey - the ONE i like is costing about $37,000 LOL - I know my taste is quiet high!!!

but we are still looking around so we shall see..
