We thought we might lose the baby this morning.

Post by Dri-Jim »

But we didn't. Thank God.

Adriana went to the bathroom and came out and told me she was bleeding. My heart was breaking for her. For me too, but she comes first for me.

We got an emergency appointment 2 hours later and the doctor said that she had a yeast infection and this was the cause. She examined her and said everything looks perfect.

Then she had a 3D ultrasound and the baby looks like a real baby! It was so incredible. He/she is 10 weeks and 3 days, 1.57 inches (4 cm) and has a heartbeat of 153 per minute! We actually saw the baby MOVE! They gave us the picture and we're going to try and scan it and upload it.

Anyway, it was HARROWING early and AMAZING later on. I prayed my heart out and still am. I'm praying for each of you girls too. Promise.

Oh, and we almost had sex yesterday until I said we should wait and talk to the doctor beforehand. Today she was thanking God we didn't!

Chelly,

Thanks for the support. It would have just broken my heart. I was reading the Babies Loved and Lost thread and it just scared the hell out of me too.

From what I understand, this was completely unrelated to the baby and everything is on track.

I also have read that for women that have had a favorable ultrasound between weeks 7 and 11, the chances of miscarrying are only like 8-10%.

How is your pregnancy going dear?

Oh, and sex? I couldn't care less about it right now. I'll wait until we have the baby if I have to, then I'll treat her like my own personal hooker!

I am glad the baby is ok! What a scare. Your odds of losing the baby decrease dramatically when you see a heartbeat at 6-7 weeks and then goes down to about 1% after 12 weeks.

Good luck!

Jim- You shouldnt scare us like that...I couldnt click on your post quick enough. I havent posted much lately, but keep tabs on everyone. We had a scare around 7 weeks. I woke up one morning and was bleeding, so utterly terrifying. We were convinced we were losing a twin, as we had only seen one HB at that point. Everything turned out okay, RE said IVF girls tend to have more unexplained bleeding than natural pregnancies. Very scary regardless. Glad everything is fine for you two (three:-) ) . As far as sex, nothing is going on in this house!!! DH and I agree, we have come this far...dont want to risk it!!!!

Girls-

I wasn't trying to scare anyone. Promise. Maybe I was just so scared that I didn't think before I put up the topic. One thing is for sure. I now know what the meaning of life is for me and I have never been more in love with my wife.

Thank you all for your support. As soon as I calm down I'll be back into our main thread. :)

Crogers- Thanks for the concern and the support.

SD- I don't know if we're going to risk it at all. Maybe it has no effect, but I wouldn't want someone invading my home!
