Hello there... We actually transferred two embies; HOWEVER, only one of them took, as we are expecting identical twins. We apparently had one very strong one that proceeded to split. So in all actuality, it truly does take only one. I also have a co-worker who recently transferred only one embie and is currently 8 weeks pregnant. I hope this helps!

Marianna please try not to be upset, it is not going to help at all, you have to put all your good energy at work so that you give your one wonderful little embie all the chance in the world ! Women get pregnant with ONE all the time, you're no different.
Just because we do IVF, we get the chance to put more than one back in when we do have them.
Keep your pma on...I know you would have liked to have more than one, we all do but at least you have one and he has a great chance to make it....help him along by feeling good!

Are you on any thread? I'd love to keep track of you and know how you're doing.
Best of luck and a great big hug.

Marianna,

It happens all the time with just one egg transfered! In fact here in Australia, they only allow one egg to be transfered under the age of 38 (I was an exception as I had several failed attempts for no reason :-/).

My SIL has done IVF 2 x and both times achieved BFP first time with just one egg retrieved and only 2 eggs collected! They were also day 3 transfers.

You can just never know when you've got the right one.

Good luck for this cycle.

WOW...Congrats!!! Thats such wonderfull news, and great beta!!!

Progestrone is to help maintain the pregnancy. We produce progestrone until 10 weeks then the placenta is able to do that for itself there after. Its just a great precausion. For me, and everyone is different, it made me REALLY tired right away, but then I wake up every night between 1-3am and cant go back to sleep, but its a good time for a potty break and you'll now be having LOTS of those!!

Again, congrats, that is fab news!!
