Jenn- Wow, now that's the insurance card I would like to get that doesn't even have monthly payment!!

I guess I need to move !!!

I'm gonna ask my OB about the 3D stuff - I'd like to know because that's the last thing I want is any of my babies to get hurt by it..

We went car shopping again found the Honda Odyssey - the ONE i like is costing about $37,000 LOL - I know my taste is quiet high!!!

but we are still looking around so we shall see..

Hi Sameera,

Go for the van! I keep telling Dri that she's gonna be a van mom and she won't have it. I think it signals we're moving on in life, y'know?

Oh, and nothing against Canada (I love visiting there) but no way would I want to give up living in the USA, especially for universal health care. It limits your treatments, takes $ from you to pay for others, and limits research and development of new drugs that can help people. But, you WILL get a year off.

sameera- I say rock the van...you have to be comfy when you are driving those kids around! I wonder how the gas mileage is on those? I go pretty good in my old honda...so I'll stay with it for a while. I can only imagine what a year paid leave would be like....oh, what a dream. As much as I complain about our healthcare, I love living in Texas...100 degree weather and all. I took out a short term disability policy with my work that will start paying after 1 week, its not a huge amount but enough for us to atleast pay our mortgage. And DH will be working. I wish I could stay home with the baby, but I love my career and I worked to hard not to practice. *sigh*

jim- yea, I do agree with your comment about universal healthcare. Healthcare and environment are the 2 main issues I will be looking at this election.

any updates? Everyone doing good?

God Bless!

Hi all..

So yes in Canada we get 1 year paid leave but you only get I think it's 60% of your pay. Luckily I work in a place that tops me up to full pay for 6 months so I get paid my normal salary to be at home with the baby and the second half of maternity leave I will only get the 60%. The only problem is it takes 4-6 weeks to get our first cheque once my maternity leave actually starts but at least they back date it to when we go on maternity.

Sameera...the van will definitely be a good choice. You might find that once you get it you will enjoy it more then you thought you would. I have heard that from quite a few friends of mine.

Healthcare in Canada is not limited. The Doctor's here send you for whatever tests you need to diagnose your symptoms. I also like the fact that I get taken care of quite well.

And I like the fact that anyone can get healthcare, and you don't have to take another mortgage out to pay for having a baby. I can take my girls to the dr anytime they are sick without having to worry about where the $ comes from. Its a social network that works very well ~ there are only specialty services that you have to pay for. My IUI's were even covered, and would have been, as long as I needed to keep doing them.

But yeah, sixty percent of your income does make things tight. It was worth it though, to not have to bring my kids to daycare until after they were a year old.

sameera- my tush is so sore from 10 weeks of PIO but I would do it for 9 months if I had to for my baby! I am gettting spoiled from seeing the baby every 2 weeks or so, its going to be weird when I go to my OB and they only see me once a month! I get big when I eat too...yesterday I had to go to a work dinner and get dressed up. I had to squeeze myself into my skirt, my pooch was so obvious! No one at work knows yet, so I was hoping I could pass it off as being bloated or weight gain!
When is you appt next week? Are you with your OB now?

God Bless!

Chelly - Lol you make me laugh - I cannot believe you still haven't told anyone!! I told EVERYONE!!

I know what you mean by trying to fit in your old clothes, I have been trying to do that but it's getting harder and harder.

Most of the time my pants are only zipped half way if that to keep them on LOL I really need more clothes!!

Yes, I have been with my OB since I was 9weeks pregnant. I go back to see her on 3rd July - so still got a while to go see her!!

I've told family and close friends; we have been scanning the sonograms and emailing them out. But the only person who knows at work is my dental assistant...I was actually going to wait until I was 4-5 months before I told work. I wanted to keep it private until I was out of the 1st trimester.
It's been hard to hide the m/s from my other co-workers though..at least I'm not running to the bathroom to vomit...THAT would be obvious! I managed to keep the entire IVF process under-wraps from my work so I'm in no rush to tell them.
I've almost let it slip a couple times, but I catch myself. It's kinda like my own little secret....

God Bless!

I know what you all mean about your belly starting to pop out. I've had 3 people in the last 2 days tell me I have started to show. I guess with my first baby I didn't show til I was about 16 weeks. Not this time. I love it, though.

One of the OB docs I work with did an ultrasound on me this morning and it was so very cute. I wsa able to see the profile of the head and face and little fingers on his hands.......so stinking cute.

I'll be so happy to reach the 12 week mark. I have to say, I have been anxious this week cause I'm so close to 12 weeks but scared of not making it (not that I really think anything will go wrong, but I can't help but worry). Saturday will be 12 weeks for me.

I was reading a little about Canada and their maternity leave. That sounds awesome. England (where I'm originally from) has the same kind of deal, tons of paid maternity leave and really good midwife follow up at your home. I'm a bit envious cause my sister is also pregnant and due about the same time (only 5 days behind me) will be off work for a whole year and I'll be back to it at 6 weeks or so. Its crumby, I wish the US would offer a better situation.

Well, back to work, I have a woman in labor who is on her 9th baby!!!!!

Hey Girls,

I'm glad everyone is doing so well! I would love to upload some pics. We have a 3D U/S I'd love to show you all. I just can't seem to upload it to this site. Could I email a couple pics to one of you that know how to upload them?

Hi all....

jim - not sure how to upload pictures to this site. Not sure if you can.

i am officially 12 weeks pregnant and can't wait for my next ultrasound. I have my next ultrasound this monday and it will be my last one until Aug 6th! :(

I'm not sure if everyone else is still as exhausted as I am. I went to bed last night at 6:30pm woke up for around 1/2 hour at 10am then went back to sleep and didn't wake up until 6am this morning. I even find when I am working I yawn non stop!

So how is everyone else doing?

Jenn

Sweetmonkey......I'm so tired too but have not been able to sleep well for a couple of weeks now. I wake up and can't go back to sleep at 12.....then 1.30.....then 3......you get the idea. I move from the bed to the couch to the spare room to try to get comfy. I wonder why I'm not sleeping? I could nap at any time of the day though....wierd.
