Hello all! i have not been on in a while so you may not remember me. I am doing much better belly getting bigger. We had a cervix check last Friday and the cervix looks good. (I had two previous LEEP procedures on my cervix so they are just keeping an eye on it.) So we got to peek and listen to heartbeats that day. I go next Friday for the Anatomy scan, which I cannot wait to see. Next Wed is a regular OB appt so looking forward to hearing how much weight I have gained. I was just curious and I am sure you guys have gone over this but how often in the beginning did everyone feel flutters for twins and at what week did you actually start feeling movement. Hope everyone is doing well.

Happy Bday Braeden and Ellie.

I am almost 15 weeks and I can def feel flutters. It is my third pregnancy though and I think you can recognize and feel them sooner with each pregnancy.
I am also having my cervix monitored and just found out my cervix is changing alittle so I need to go to a high risk specialist and have a cerclage this afternoon. It is pretty scary but I will do anythingn to keep these babies in safe and sound.
Say a prayer for me, all!
Hope you are all doing great!

stephjim, I started feeling movements around 17th week. It was my second pregnancy, so I definitely knew how it feels like. With my first one (singleton), I felt it around 21st week. You will probably find out the gender in your detailed scan! You must be so excited!

sarahalf, I hope everything goes well with your appointment. I'd been seeing the high risk doctor from the beginning. It's very assuring to see someone who is specialized in multiple pregnancy. It's scary, I am sure, but sounds like you will be in the good hands! Hang in there!

Aly wakes up at 5:30 every morning no matter how late I feed her. She screams and wakes everyone, so I feed her. I am afraid it is becoming a habit now. All of us have cold now so maybe that is causing her early rising.

The babies are cooing now and smiles and laughs a lot. They will be my last babies, so it's sad to see them growing up so fast, but I am also excited for them to learn new skills etc... It's bitter sweet.

My DH is going on numerous oversea business trips shortly and I am just dreading them... What am I going to do with three little kids?? Wish me luck cause I need it.

Anyway, wanted to post while I got a minute or two having my coffee!!

Take care everyone!

good luck today with that Sara. I have been with the high risk in addition to my OB from the beginning for my cervix and age, etc. So So far I have had no changes. I think they might check it again next Friday when they do the anatomy scan. I am not sure. I welcome a cerclage, like you said because at this point I want to keep them in. Are they also putting you on bedrest? What was the length of your cervix?

14 1/2 days to gooooooo. I cant believe I will be a dad in 2 weeks. We have a scheduled c-section July the 3rd. DW didnt want a July 4th baby. I picked the 3rd so that when they grow up they will have an automatic day off work after their birthday party (whatever that may be). Look at me already looking out for my kids best interest.

Both babies look great and everything is going as planned. Just praying that nothing happens to DW or the babies during surgery.

Have a great day everyone...talk to ya soon.

Hi all

Thanks for the welcome back girls :)

I am glad to hear your party went well Kim - our party went well too. Bronte loved her chocolate cake but Harry was not so interested. He does not like anything new too much! The twins were a little overhelmed at times but still managed three sleeps for the day the last one lasting 1 1/2 hours! My two are definately sleepers - even when they are sick they sleep through. I will put some photos on photobucket tonight so you can have a peek :)

Bronte WALKED across the loungeroom tonight - can you believe it! She was giggly and cheeky and then got the confidence and away she went - right across the room (small room). I just knew she would be like this - she will be running in no time

Our move went well I guess, as well as it can be with 8 month olds. They were really sick of the car by the end of the trip and the last hour was spent listening to lots of crying on and off. I went to my sisters 2 hours away and stayed there for a few days whilst the furniture was being delivered. It took at least 2 weeks to get settled in - DH did not start work for another 10 days so I had a lot of help - thank goodness.

We have settled in reasonably well - we have a lot more resourses available to us and more chances of meeting up with other twin mums. I am a member of AMBA a multiples group. I have met some girls from the group and we go for coffee and a play with the kids once a week. The kids love the interaction they get with the other children and it gives me a chance to talk with other twin mums. I was very isolated at our last residence spending over 8 months virtually alone with the babies except for once a week outing to do the food shopping. I don't know how I did it!

I go back to uni this semester and am going to tackle two subjects. Harry and Bronte will go to childcare three days a week so I can study. I finish my third year halfway through next year then onto my honors year. I have had a break this last semester so am itching to get back into the swing of things again.

To those who are about to meet their new arrivals I wish you the best of luck and safe deliveries to you. You world will never be the same.........the experience of twins is just so special.

To those who are expecting - look after yourselves as best you can and rest up! Carrying twins is a big job. Before you know it your time will come and those precious bundles will be here.

I think this is it for a mammoth post - will get to Photobucket for those pics.

Cheers Di

Hello all!! I had a question for the mommies here and the mommies pregnant but further on. Did you ever have days in the beginning of the 2nd trimester where you just did not feel pregnant? I have just not been feeling really anything the past few days and I know I should be thankful for not feeling ligaments, etc but I was just curious if that was normal. I am trying NOT to be a worry wart so when I get these thoughts in my head I either dismiss them or come on here to find out if they are real. I can't wait for next week we finally get to find out the sex of the babies. It is sooo exciting.

Steph: totally, yes! I did not feel pregnant until recently when I feel them move all the time. I did not have any pregnancy symptoms (other than headaches) so that was an issue (a good one! lol) as well. So it is totally normal!

Stephjim~ I was the same as you. . .not a thing. It may be selective memory but pregnancy was virtually symptomless for me. Not that I'm complaining at all but I understand how it can worry you. I remember wishing I would have m/s just so I knew things were alright. Better enjoy it while it lasts! :D I'm excited to know what you are having! Tell us ASAP!

Di!!!!Those are beautiful babies you have there! I love seeing new pics and getting your update. Sounds like moving was pretty easy for you.
Either that or the twins really seasoned you for multi-tasking minus the stress. Also, Congrats on making it to one year! The b-day hats were adorable adn I'm sure it was bitter sweet. Isn't it hard to believe you have a baby that walks?? Seems you have adjusted well and are making friends quickly. We are so happy to have you back!

Vickersx3~ Your on the home stretch now!!!! There aren't words I can say that can prepare you for it but we are all happy for you and want all the details! Enjoy every moment!

Gotta run. . . .Dh needs a hand.

I'm back! Like how it only take me 12 hours to get back to the computer? Nice!

Kimi~ My little guy did the same exact thing that Aly is doing only he did it at 4:30 am! UGH! I let him do it for weeks because I just felt like he is so tiny that he could use the extra feeding but soon realized that he was getting worse. Soon he wanted to get up the day. No way! So, Iset the pack-n-play up in the office and would just go get him when he woke and put him straight in there. The first night he cried for about 25 minutes and woke up 2-3 times before 7. The next night he cried for about 3-5 minutes but never woke up again and that was it. It only took two nights to get back on track. Night #1 though he woke Annelise up and we were all exhausted the next day. Worth it though to be back on track.

You'll be just fine when dh leaves. :D :D The kids and I just pack up and go somewhere. Anywhere is better than no where for us. Yesterday we weren't busy but we landed in my Dad's front yard on a blanket. It's new to them and they love seeing new places. Today we are headed to the river to have lunch and watch Lucy fetch sticks. I think getting them out of the house makes everyone happier. Our new fabulous form of entertainment are the baby swings. hours of fun!!! Good luck!

The beach was GREAT!!! If you ever need a beach rental, let me know. I have a lot of friends that have homes there and rent them as well. We go to Pacific City. It's small and cozy but has enough to do so we never get tired. We ride stand-up jet skis in the ocean so we are litereally on the beach the entire day but the babies do great. The ocean helps them to nap forever. Bodie took a 3.5 hour nap over there while Annelise was down for over 2. Not to mention, they loved feelign the sand, seeing sea lions, deer and a new baby fawn. In the beach house we were at the deer eat right out of your hand. IT's so sweet. We try to go as often as we can. We love the fresh air, the ocean, our friends, and now seeing the babies explore new places. BE prepared to get a lot of sand out of everything though! Baby powder is amazing!

Kim~ Pics of the party!!!! It's hard to believe we are almost there as well. Did you cry? I'm sure I will. I had to pack up all their 3-6 month onesies the other day because they are getting too snall. . . .I know. . . and I teared up so bad. I'm not sure I want them to grow up this fast! Did you get any great new toys that we need to know about. Dh turned the babies swimming pool into a ball pit in the house and it was a pretty big hit for a few days over here. Now it's warming up again and we can head outside w/ it but I thought it was pretty smart on his part. How is Lake Erie? Pics?? We are headed to the lake this weekend ourselves. We'll see how it goes. Not looking forward to the life jackets at all!!!!

I better run. The house has been pretty neglected lately so I thought I would attempt to do something w/ it!

Twin mommies: Quesion,

Last night I was having some aches and pains and just thought it was built up gas. Then I went to the bathroom and a mucus (size of a dime) came out of me. It was clear and really stretchy but that was all I noticed of it. I was a little wetter than normal down there yesterday but I know this can be normal. I was up and about a lot yesterday so I thought all the pain and such was from that...I still am not comfortable today but not like yesterday...now I am having a tugging sensation in my vagainal area and still the slight pressure. Any ideas on this? I will call my doctor on Monday to see...I counted the contractions and did not have more than 4 an hour but still was just wondering. It is way too early for these girls!

Well, I passed more of the mucus and had a few more contractions so went to the triage. The babies look great but they did a test (Felal Fibronectin) and it came back positive which means I have a 30% chance of going into labor in the next week but she checked my cervix and it was still 3 and closed so she is not too worried. They did give me a round of steroids just in case and I have to go back tomorrow to get the follow up shot. So, in reality we just have to pray we can keep them in there until at least 32-34 weeks! I read up a little bit on it and if the test comes back positive most people do not last longer than 35 weeks....so lets just hope we can keep them in there until 34 weeks!!! I have to go to the doctor on Monday/Tuesday to see my reg OB. The nurse said that if it had been other doctors in the practice they probably would have kept me there for observation so she wants me to talk to my OB to see what he has to say. But back to bed rest for me! Woohoo??

Ok, so not to be too tmi, but was the mucous from your vaginal area or your rectum? If you think it is the vaginal area, then I would call the doctor to be sure. Does your doc office not have an on call doc or nurse? I can call my office any time. Try calling them this weekend even tonight and see if you have access to something like that.
