I am so glad to see that everyone is doing good!!!
Tesa got sick , she has horrible discharge form her nose, coughing, sneezing and looking very sick. I can't believe it, i thought that breasfed babies have pretty good immunity to that kind of stuff. We are going to the doctor today, i am afraid she will get bronchitis ( sp?)

Hi Everyone:

Vlada.... hope everyone gets well soon. My DH and I both had terrible cold starting yesterday. Stephie has not gotten it yet.... hope she won't.

The weekend was beautiful. Saw Sex and the City movie. It felt really good to get out. Went bike riding Sunday along the beach. That was really nice too. Baby massage class is tomorrow. I am taking Tylenol cold like crazy and hope I am okay by then.

She does have some baby acne. I think she might have a little psorisis near her eyebrows. I wonder if I can put cordisone cream on it? The very dry red patches are driving me crazy.

I managed to get two dogs and a baby into the car today..... and made it to the groomer. Not an easy feat.

oh my..kipatte, brava for you for getting 2 dogs and a baby into the car! yay! As to the baby acne, mine have it a little bit...it's very common, I hear...why do you think yours has psoriasis? It is hereditary, so does it run in your family? Just curious...

Rebecca...such dreams are just sooooo realistic...I relate to your description so well...I often dream there is one in the bed with me! Then get stunned at the baby monitor's cries!

Vlada, oh, so sorry...one of the Jamaican nannies gave my son bronchitis, poor boy was ill for 15 days, coughing...killed me...I got it too (sans cough)...as did another sitter...that was when I fired the freakin' woman I THOUGHT was so good with my babies (how dare she so up ill! I asked her on sev occassions if she was sick and she lied).

Vlada, sorry to hear Tesa has a cold...I'm dreading my boys getting sick but I know it will happen. They have got their first set of jabs tomorrow and it's meant to be horrible - one in each thigh and they scream apparently.

Kip, my boys both had really dry flaky and slightly red skin, particularly on their eyebrows, and scalp, and a bit around their mouths. I was advised to use "oilatum" in their bath, which is basically like liquid paraffin. It's quite oily and makes them all slippy, but it's cleared them up completely. For the really bad bits I was putting aqueous cream on - again this is paraffin. I also heard that you can apply a little olive oil.

Seems the dropping of the 3am feed was a one-off...they both wanted feeding again last night, started whinging from about 2.30am. Oh well, at least it shows they might be getting close to being able to do without that feed.

hello all, just a quick one as am feeding so it's one finger typing again - girls had their 2 month injections yesterday and it was awful - 5 injections!! i cried almost as much as they did. anyway for those who haven't been there yet be prepared for a tough night - my literally screamed for two hours in the afternoon before crying themselves to sleep and the same again at night time - they wouldn't feed and i felt so useless....this morning it's all samoles and coo's again so they have forgiven me!! anyone else had the same?

for the twin mummies - is anyone using a cosleeper? worried i only have a few more weeks with it as they are getting too tall! what next?

Hi...took the 2 boys for their jabs this morning. It wasn't actually as bad as I was expecting. It was 1 jab in each thigh, and they had 2 nurses do them at the same time so it was over in a couple of seconds. The babies howled for a few seconds then it was all over!

They are really unsettled now though...and one feels a bit feverish

Rebecca...I felt awful as well...but they survived!!! Glad your girls are back in form...
Hayley...the babies will be a bit 'off' today and will probably sleep more than normal and may not have much of an appetite...
I was told to give the babies tylenol (baby tylenol of course) every 4 hours...the amount is on the box...it seemed to calm both babies...
But mine had the shots that Rebecca did, the 2 jabs in each thigh...the polio, etc vaccine...poor babies.

OK, working hard to organize the nights.
My babies ate at 5:20 last night, HUGE amounts for them, then slept from 8 or 8:30 to 3:00 a.m.
I have been trying to move the feedings later into the night, as I don't get to bed until later anyhow, so their sleeping 7 hours or so early in the evening is lost on me...
BUT, rather than wake up for a 9:00 or 11:00 feed? They slept..so I experimented to see for how long.
Tonight I'll experiment again, and wake them to feed them at 11:00 and see if they'll sleep 6 or 7 hours through the night.
Almost there!!!
11 weeks tomorrow...they are so adorable I can't stand it.
What are you doing for 'play things'...
My son loves the Rainforest bouncer (Fisher Price)
and I have a sounds mobile from ... oh is it tiny love? really fabulous..
and a Gymini floor mat and MIRRORS that they just looooove
but I am looking for more ideas...they are so active right now..at least my boy is!

Hi everyone,

Vlada: hope your family is feeling a bit better by now!

I'm not looking forward tothose injections, I hadn't really given it much thought until I read your posts.

WC: The only toys I have for Ellie at the moment is a mobile thingy that lies on the floor and some finger puppets that I tickle her with. She started smiling on Sunday, 1st smile to big Brother who came over to visit, 2nd smile to Acupuncturist at work, then finally when I thought she hated me or thought I was too ugly, I got a smile on Tuesday!

I can't leave Ellie without her nappy/diaper for too long, she loves to wiggle around without it, but our flat is just so cold and draughty...yeap, we still haven't got moved, I could SCREEEEAM! Hopefully the solicitor will get us completed next week!

So today I took Ellie and her great Granny to Windermere in the Lake District shopping for Beatrix Potter things for her future nursery, I think it will look really sweet, Great Granny bought her quite a few bits, treated me to lunch and then paid the petrol too! What a great day! I've also picked a few bits up on ebay too, so now I have just got to work out how to make curtains...can't be too difficult surely!!!!!

Sleepwise, Ellie is not quite as good as she was, but I am still getting a 5 1/2 hours per night, so I can't grumble. I've done 3 days back at work, taking Ellie with me, and it has worked out really well, with me just finishing as she wakes up for her lunch.

Ellie is gaining loads of weight now, at 5 weeks and 2 days old she is now a healthy 7lb 5.5oz. At mother & baby group I got talking to a mum who's NOT so little one (a week older than Ellie born at 9lbs+), her baby is called Rosie Ellen & my little sweetie is Ellie Rose, how cool is that!

Woodcliff, I recieved a glow worm that plays lullabyes (sp?) and Peyton can't take her eyes off of it. I also got a baby leap frog toy that sings 1-10 and she somewhat likes that.

Got back to working out 2 days a week with a trainer...have 12 to lose to get to prepregnancy weight,
25 to lose to make me feel good about myself

Woodcliff..how did your experiment work out, with waking the babies at 11pm for a top up feed then seeing if they slept a long stretch?

Mine have gotten a bit worse, waking every couple of hours at night, but it could be related to their jabs.

Hayley...thx for asking!
I think the jabs do upset the babies' bodies...I think I mentioned I used tylenol for my son, who is a tad 'louder' of the two and seemed uncomfortable...it sure helped him sleep.

Last night, My son was squiggling a bit when I went in to check (although he would've slept a few more hours, I think) around midnight, so I fed him, and then I stuck a bottle into my daughter's mouth (bad mommy)...
He actually ate a few ounces, she ate maybe 1.5 ounces...not really enough for a solid sleep.
BUT
They slept from 12:25 a.m. to 4:50 a.m.
Sleeping through the night is defined at not waking from midnight to 5 a.m.
ha.
so they did OK, I feel they are almost there...they are very solid night sleepers, just diff hours than I'd like

Today, I had my sitter come at 9 a.m.
I slept from 9:30 to 12:45.
Don't know if it's the babies or working out with a trainer...

Not sure if this info is helpful for you or not.

I express one boob, while ellie feeds from the other. Then at 11.30pm after I have given her a feed, around 10 mins later my husband feeds her one of the expressed bottles. (I know when I go for a meal out and eat too much I get tired!) So perhaps that is why Ellie sleeps through, but it also gives DH to feel more involved in the nursing side of things.

My main reason for expressing whilst feeding though is so that I can build up a stock so in a few weeks time I can easily drink a bottle of wine or two and know I have non alcoholic feed put aside for Ellie and can express and throw away my tainted milk.

However, as you mostly have twins, unless you have 3 nipples it might be hard to express! Also I guess quite a few of you are on formula anyway, but just thought I would share!

Haley... thanks for the tips. I will try the oilatum.
Woodcliff, Psorisis does not run in my family, but I had a friend in high school who had bad psorisis and it looks like that. I am sure though it is just what Haley was talking about.

Speaking of wine... I was really looking forward to a dirty martini... but they don't seem to do those in England. Everytime we have been to a restaurant, they say they don't do them.

Stephie gets her jabs on Tuesday. Hope it goes well. A little nervous about it.

The toy thing is still a mystery to me. We have a play gym but she does not like it much yet. She does like the mirror but just for a small bit. At 8 weeks she has not payed much attention to her stuffed animals yet. What she likes the most is to get in the pram and see new scenery. She is also noticing things in her environment for the first time and will stare at whatever new she has discoved for awhile. At the baby group she ignores all the toys and goes to sleep. Outings and noise send her right to sleep.

Hello ladies,
I've been very busy, so i have not posted much. Tesa is recovering from cold, and now i am torn about her vaccinations, it is due on Wednesday ( her 2 month check up), she doesn't have temperature but still has mucus coming out of ner nose and sneezing a little bit, should i go ahead and vaccinate her?
Also, do you guys have a nap schedule yet? I managed to get Tesa to go to bed between 8 and 9 pm ( sometimes between 8 and 9 30), but during the day she doesn't have a schedule at all, sometimes she doesn't sleep at all during day time!
WC i don't give her any toys yet but she loves to look around , especially when my mom or my husband carry her around the house, she pays attention to everything.
