Wednesday for egg collection ....help!!!

Post by Jackie S »

Had scan today, the main consultant did my scan and just kept saying all these numbers, seemed to go on for ever. Anyway, he said that although the follicles aren't quite big enough (could do with 2 more growing days) if we did wait I would hyperstimulate so- it is all go for Wednesday. Oh shit....this is all becoming very real.

I have 4 injection today (wow!) but none tomorrow -YES!!!

Not quite sure how I should be feeling -sort of stuck between excitement and an overwelming sense of fear. They did my bloodpressure today and it was the lowest I had ever had so that is good news. The nurses have been brilliant, the nurse I saw today has looked after us all along (apart from a couple of scans) and she is lovely, always there to answer our questions. Had a really good chat with her today which was cool.

We've decided not to mention anything to our families unless they are 'bothered' enough to ask, which they haven't been upto now, but at least we can concentrate on ourselves. The only person we've told is my best friend and John's boss. They have been great considering John leaves on Friday, he will need time off for embryo transfer too.

Thank you everyone for supporting me through the last 6 weeks your advice as been invaluable. Is there anything I should be doing to make sure I don't hyperstimulate they counted about 25 folicles altogether although they are hoping 9 will be ready.

Thanks again

Jackie

Drink as much water as you can and i also had a pint of milk a day too. I had 24 follys and they were worried about me overstimulating, but i never did and i think they were suprised that i never had any symptoms. I'm sure the water did the trick.

good luck,

Hi Jackie

I was in danger of OHSS last cycle and had around 26 follies but they 'coasted' me for 5 days, which means they stop all medication. You need to drink as much water as you can! I was really bloated and its not easy, but I got 14 good eggs, and 11 embies and didnt develop OHSS. Also take it easy!
Am currently on the 2ww nursing 3 of my frosties and crossing everything.
Good luck for Weds, you will be fine.

Hi Jackie,

I just want to wish you lots of luck and hope all works out for you. Please try and drink 2 litres of water per day, that does help, so I am told.

Love
Shell.

Hi Jackie
I just wanted to wish you loads of luck for today - you'll do great!
The most important thing like the other girls have mentioned it to drink, drink, drink - I didn't have as many as follicles as you but they still told me to drink between 2-3 litres a day.....which of course makes me pee all the time!

hihi jackie
like the rest of the girls would like to say good luck trmw.
The injections u had yesterday u will find with give
the folicules that little extra growth spurt they need so they
will be perfect for wed.
I can understand your apprehension, but look at it the
other way "exciting" know that sounds strange, but
when i use to go for the scans it was so nice to see
the folicules growing, i just felt i was getting nearer
to my goal and that it was actually happening, and
the best bit of wed is when u wake up and they tell
u how many embies u have,
look forward to hearing your news.
