Hello,
I am new to the board and I am in my first IVF cycyle. I had my transfer on Sunday. I want to to be cautious as possible so I have been on bed rest for the first 48 hours. I am going a little stir crazy so I was wondering if there is any benefit to staying on the bedrest for the next few days or if I can get back to doing things on a moderate level. I did not know if staying non mobile helps your chances once you are past the 48 hour mark. I hated taking the meds and will do anything to increase my chances of a success.
Thanks for any suggestions.
I am also in the 2ww, I had my transfer on friday. I personally sat on couch for the rest of the friday and then was back to normal. Obviously no heavy lifting and i won't do an aerobic exercise, hot tubs, hot baths and maybe refrain from intercourse for a while. Everyone is different and you must try to continue as normal as possible otherwise you will go stir crazy. But if the thought of doing something doesn't feel right to you then don't do it and that way you know you have given it your best shot and feel positive.
Medically I have been told that there is no scientific proof that bed rest makes any difference, I think just take it steady.
Hi! I'm also in my 2ww! I have ONE week left!!! I just wanted to say that I agree with everything the previous poster said. So I won't repeat it. I had my FET last Wednesday, and what I did was lay around for the first 2 days, just getting up to go to the bathroom, fix lunch, etc. Nothing major. After that, I resumed at normal, not over stressing myself. I try not to lift my son, and have my DH get him in the car for me. But I basically do my usual around the house.
I also wanted to tell you that I got a BFP on my first try with IVF. My son is now 3, and is our little miracle! I REALLY hope it all works the same for you! Good luck!

It's up to you and your doctor, of course, but the few studies I've seen on bedrest after embryo transfer did not find benefit in it. One study found a reduced chance of pregnancy with bedrest.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.
I was told by my doc that I should NOT bed rest...studies don't show that it helps...she encouraged normal activity becuase that's what people normally do with regular conception. I laid around day of transfer then went to work next day. During 2ww no sex, no exercise, no heavy lifting, but all other "normal" activity is fine.
Wishing all of you girls a BFP!
I stayed couch potato for 3 days, then had normal activity, no sex though. No hot tubs, no baths. I also ate pinneaple and talked to the embies a lot and prayed
Good luck!

Wow...I find all of these posts very interesting. My RE will have me on my bedrest for 4 days (including the day of transfer). I don't think I will stay IN BED the whole time, but I am not planning on going to work (I walk and drive a lot for work...takes a lot out of me, and quite frankly I'm looking forward to the ecuse to stay away!) But your posts do make me think a little...Hmmmm.

Thanks to all for your advice. I feel better getting back to my normal schedule. I wish all of you the best. This waiting is so hard.
Yes...I have eaten pineapple during this time I figure it will not hurt and I really like it. My husband thought I was a little crazy to eat the core, I am sure we will laugh about this one day. The reason I ate the core was many postings said it would increase your chances of implantation. Did I mention I have gotten desperate.
I am curious how many days out you can HPT after tranfer? I am guessing it is different for each person but would say 10 dpt show a sign? I am getting nervous as several of the side effects have subsided.

Good Luck to all!
HI I DID A TEST TODAY 7 DAYS AFTER ET....DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS MEANS A DEF NO AS I SHOULDNT REALLY TESTED FOR ANOTHER WEEK
Kate, everyone gets their BFP on different days. I think you may have tested a bit early. Did you do a 5dt or a 3dt? I would give it a few more days and try again. I've heard that sometimes you may not even see it on a HPT until the day after your beta.
I did a test on day 7 after transfer. What does BETA mean? sorry new to all this, mind is all over the place. Just found on a web site that embryo doesnt even start to attach until around day 7 so there for that could explain the negative i guess.
Kate- An embryo hatches on day 6 and can implant on day 6 or 7, sometimes even day 8. I did read where you tested 7 days after your transfer, BUT did you have your transfer 3 or 5 days after your retrieval? That makes all the difference in the world, The embryo's could have either been 3 days or 5 days old already. If it was 5 days then that means by day 6 or 7 is when you would have had implantation. So if you tested 7 days after transfer then they would have already implanted. It takes about 3 days for HCG to start building up. If you want to keep testing I would wait a few more days then try again.
Oh, ya, the beta is the blood test to determine if your pregnant. It reads the HCG in your system.
I to started testing after a 3dt on day 7 and it came back negative. I talked with others on this message board and my doctors who said that everyone can be different. I wasted three boxes of HPT sticks, the very early ones, trying to get a positive but it was too early. I would not test until day 10 or 11 at the earliest. Even then it could not be conclusive. I hate to wait also but the only real truth is the blood test drawn at the lab. I know this may not help but I understand your need to know. I go in the morning at 7:30 am for my blood test and I am very nervous.
I had et 3 days after. Thanks to you both for you advice and replying - good luck with your bloods tomorrow - let us know how it goes.
Really glad i found this site and i wish you both luck. Ill keep you posted. Had a few twinges this afternoon around right ovary area very feint but enough for me to feel it.
