Hey Suagabeanz~ You are in my thoughts for sure! I hope you are still holding those babies in there. Fingers Crossed! I lost my mucus plug (which I wasn't sure if that's even what it was) about 2 days before I went into the hospital on bedrest. I know it's TMI but it sounds about the same as yours. Dime sized and slightly odd color. They did the Fetal fibernectin test on me and mine was negative and I still delivered in 2 weeks all the while having contractions every minute of the two weeks. By the way, I couldn't feel them anymore than a little tugging but on the machine they were sky-rocketing! I'm not trying ot scare you just be very, very mellow and stay in bed as much as you can. I was dialated to a 2 when I went in to the hospital and was on the strongest dose of mag. Keep us posted for sure and in the meanwhile I will be sending all my "stay put" baby vibes your way!

Good luck!!! HUGS!!!!!

Sugabeanz,
I hope all is ok with you and the contractions have mellowed out and you havent dilated any further. Please let us know how things are going. I am sure if you are on bedrest, you will have lots of time to hang out and email! How many weeks are you right now?
Sending you the best thoughts for those babies to stay put in there!

Hi All,

It's almost July but the Pacific NW is still cloudy! We hope to get more shunshine soon because everyone is sick of it!

Suagabeanz, I am thinking of you... I recall my mucus plug being bloody with my first delivery but for my twin one, my water broke first and did not see it at all. Sounds like the doctor is monitoring you closely, so hopefully you can carry your babies for weeks to come. That's good that your cervix is long and closed. Hang in there!!

Vickersx3, no wonder you are so excited! Good luck and enjoy one of the most special times of your life! Keep us posted!

Di, I went into photobucket and saw the pictures of your twinies. Adorable babies!! Now that they are a little older, they must be able to play together etc... Congratulations on turning one!

Kimberley, I saw your babies' pictures, too. They are getting big, aren't they? Thanks for the advice re DH being away and a vacation spot in Oregon. I will keep Pacific City in mind, in fact, I was looking at that city previously. I will definitely ask your advice if we decide to go there! I am still practicing going out with the twins. Alyson does not nap in the car or in the stroller, so it's a little tough at this time. Hope she'll get used to it. I really want to go out because I am an active person!! Aly acts really hungry at 5 am so I give her a bottle. This morning, Noah woke up, too, so DH had to get up and help as well. Aly still sleeps in the living room in the pack-n-play and there is no prospect of moving her in with Noah at this time!! I should start sleep training Aly, but I am just procrastinating it...

Kim - I really like the family portrait!! You have a beautiful family. You sound so organized to have professional photos taken regularly. We only have one taken for the twins and I must make a reservation for a summer portrait for all my kids.

I haven't joined a local multiples group yet. Maybe I will take time today and pay the due. I am just really lazy these days. I feel like I am trying to run in water. That dragging feeling... I wonder if I am haivng PPD!? Or maybe I am just exhausted from lack of sleep. I feel like I should be enjoying my kiddos more. Do any of the new mommies feel this way? Is this normal!?

Anyway, gotta take shower before the twinies wake up!

Take care everyone!

Well, I went back yesterday to get the other steroid shot and they checked the cervix. I am not dilated but I am 40% efaced. So hopefully it stays closed!! But I go back in a week and half to get looked at again.

Kholtan: When did you deliver? Were you early? I am 25 weeks on Wednesday so they really need to stay in there for a bit longer!

Thanks ladies for your thoughts and prayers! Bed rest is lots of fun!!! *sarcasm* But as long as it keeps em in there!

sugabeanz, I am sorry you are having to go through this. Just try to stay positive and don't get up, ok? I have seen people do it. If you get worried enough, I would have them watch you in the hospital. Are you still having the contractions? I am surprised they have not put you on Mag to stop them or Tubuterline. I would insist if it gets much worse to be put in the hospital.

Well, today I woke up at 430 to go to the bathroom yet again and I had some blood again. The last time was 12.5 weeks. The bright red blood lasted 20 minutes then it turned dark red and then brown within an hour. I called the doc and they had me come in this afternoon and nothing was wrong both babied moving around and heartbeats strong and cervix 3.86 and closed. The tech, however did notice something. She noticed a pee pee on Baby A and a hoo hoo on baby B. So we are having a boy and a girl. We will also have that confirmed on Fri at the high risk doc when they do the anatomy scan. But we are very excited. The doc said the bleeding is normal and should subside within the week.

Hope everyone else is doing well. Talk to you soon.

Well I called the doctor this morning. Last night I was having really bad period like (kinda worse) cramps. So I talked to the nurse and she said to go to triage to get looked at. I JUST WANT MY REGULAR DOCTOR TO LOOK AT ME!!! So, here we go again! I just have to wait for the husband to get home to take me (which will be any minute). I am hoping that they do not think I am crazy! No more contractions, from what I can tell, but the pain is there and now I am just nauseated and tired and dizzy. UGH! So, hopefully they will just keep me there for a day to monitor me so they can figure something out because these are not just round ligament pains. I can feel the baby right on my cervix. Sheesh! 25 weeks is too early for these girls! So hopefully I get a good doctor this time and they actually care enough to look at my chart real carefully and say...hmmm 3 times to triage in 4 days....I will keep you all updated! Thanks for the warm thoughts and prayers!

Sugabeanzs~ You are on my heart so much today!!!! I will be thinking of you until we know what is happening. Honestly, I would suggest they keep you in the hospital. I know it sounds like misery but I thought it was pretty ok. The mag is pretty icky at first but you get use to it and if you can stop labor then WHOHOO! I was there for 2 weeks and delivered at 34 weeks whick kept my babies in the NICU for 16 days. Every day buys you 3 less days in the NICU so keep those babies in there. Keep a PMA and do not entertain ANY negative thoughts!!!! :D WE'll try to help you with that one! Let us know what happens and take care of you and those girls!

HUGS!

Hi guys!

I just got back from the Lake last night and I've been trying to catch up on this BUSY board!

First of all, sugabeanz.....I will be thinking of you and your babies. I agree with the others, the hospital sounds like the best place for you right now. You need to keep cooking those twinks. If the hospital sends you home again, I'd be checking out another hospital. Do you have another one nearby? Please take it easy.....

Vickers--Yeah! You're almost there! Good luck and I hope your wife has a safe and easy delivery! You'll have to update us when the babies arrive.

stephjim--I'm glad to hear you're okay. Yikes, that must have been scary. And yeah on a boy and girl! And wow--you already have names! You are efficient, girl! I hope you don't have to deal with any more bleeding....ugh......as for the flutters, it took me a while to feel anything consistently. I think it was around 20 weeks?

Tolbee--I'm glad you're going to join a multiples group! I love mine. We now meet for playdates occassionally and there are lots of activities we can do with other families like ours. I hope you are feeling more energy soon. I remember being tired a lot those first few months, but maybe you should check with your doc about PPD? I never had it, but it's better to be cautious, kwim?

Kholtan--your pics on the bucket are too cute! I love Annelise's hat! Where did you get it? Ellie has some cute hats too, but her head is so dang big! (90%) So, it's hard for me to find hats for her! I'm glad you had a good time at the beach! We had a good trip, but the weather was quite cool for June. Only like 72 degrees. Of course, now that we're back home it's almost 90. ugh. My kiddos loved the sand and the water. Ellie HATES the boat. :? I think the noise bothers her. The lifejackets went okay. Not great, but doable. I finally posted a few b-day pics on the bucket for ya!

Di--love your pics too! Those bikes look too cute! I'm glad your move went okay. I bet it is nice to be around more friends and family. I love that your twins group meets for weekly playdates! That's great! We're lucky if we can meet up once a month!

We had our one year appt last week. Ellie's now 22 pounds and Braeden is 20. They got a few shots (but not the big MMR one yet--whew!). Ellie, of course, was full of drama, but B handled it like a champ. Now if I can just get that boy to walk......

Take care gals! I'll keep checking in to see how sugabeanz is doing! I'm hoping she's at the hospital, tied to a bed! ha ha--just kidding--it's tricky keeping us twin mommies in bed isn't it? :)

Hey Kim~ Glad to hear you had a good trip. The b-day pics are adorable as usual and it sounds like your babies are about as fond of the life jackets as mine. We just bought some new ones last week that were a bit expensive but they like them A TON better. They are O'Neil and fit much better and seem to be far more easy to sit up in. Annelise has quite the mellon herself and is in the 90% as well so hats are hard to find for her too. She isn't even on the chart for weight but her head is ahead of the game! That hat was a hand me down but it was from Gymboree. I get them 2 yr. old sizes and that seems to work well. If it's not glued down Bodie can get it off easily. :( Thank goodness mine like the boat because we are on it all the time in the summer. I posted new pics on their web page as well. (www.batesbabies.blogspot.com).

Better run and get something done.

Well....We are parents. My wifes water broke yesterday morning a 6:15. The babies were delivered at 10:38/10:40. She was 35 weeks 5 days. Garrett weighed 5 lb 7oz and Sophia weighed 4lb 2oz. He had some fluid in his lungs that they were watching very closely. She had low blood sugar. As of today they are doing perfect and may be able to go home with us. They were in our room most of the day with no wires, oxygen etc. Of course they are both beautiful. It still doesnt feel like their ours. I am sure that will change once we get home.

Take care ladies...I'll keep you updated on their progress.

vickersx3, congratulations!!
You and your wife did very well carrying the babies past 35 weeks. The babies have nice weights as well! Enjoy absorbing everything. With plenty of cuddle times, you will gradually internalize the fact that you are parents and that the babies are yours forever.
Congrats again!!

Finally, the sunshine! The summer has finally arrived to the Puget Sound! I am excited for finally being able to put a dress on Alyson. Kimberley, Annelise sometimes has a little ribbon on her hair. Is that a clip or sticker thingy? Alyson still doesn't have enough hair to put a bow clip on her hair and I've been wanting to accessorize her hair. I just cannot wait any longer!! Can you tell me how you are attaching a bow??

Well, my DH will leave on Sat morning to Ireland for a week. I just wished I could go with him and have a pint of cold Guinness and enjoy the landscape, history etc... That would be awesome. And after this trip, he'll go to India for a week as well. I just have to get used to taking care of the kids by myself. The babies are pretty manageable but the two-year-old DS is another story! Everything upsets him and he throws tantrums constantly. I hope he'll be cooperative while Daddy's gone. Maybe this will be a good opportunity for him to learn to be a big boy.

How is everyone else? I hope you are doing ok, Sugarbeanz.

Kim, great weights! I watched the video of Ellie walking. How adorable is she!!

Well, I hear Noah making noise so I have to go.

Take care!

vickers--CONGRATS!!!!! Wow, great weights for nearly 36 weeks. I love the babies' names! How great to have one of each!

Kimi--I found some great stick on bows online when Ellie was really little. I think I ordered them from a company called "A BUnch of Bows". The bows even came with a little "glue" that was made from some kind of sugar/starch.

Kholtan--I might have to check out the o'neil vests. I might be okay with the ones we have--I think we just have to get more used to them. That's so funny that Annelise is in size 2 hats too! I love Gymboree hats...just got one today! I have issues with hats/sun....I'll go into therapy someday! I'll check your pics tonight--I'm sure they're scrumptious!

gotta run. Hope that sugabeanz is okay!

Kholtan--checked out your blog today--super cute! I used to love putting E and B back-to-back in swings like that! (They don't fit like that anymore though.... ). I have to hand it to ya--your kiddos seem SO adaptable! You take them everywhere! That's awesome!

Hey gang...just thought I would give you an update on the kids. Garrett is being lazy and doesnt want to feed. Sophia is just the opposite. She will scream when she is hungry, he will just lay there and sleep all day. They call boys like Garrett "wimpy white boys" because they were a little spoiled in the womb and now they have to work for their food.

Sophia has a little jaundice which they said is normal. They have her in this tanning bed looking thing until tomorrow. If he doesnt learn to eat better he will have to stay in the NICU after we go home on Sunday. He suck a few times then quits this goes on for 20 minutes and he is taking about 10cc of formula in that time. The rest they have to tube feed him.

Keep us in your prayers ladies.
