I only see Rinnie on this board, so not sure where she is.

Anyway, I take these "pills" and I don't think that they are just necessarily for infertility. I think they are supposed to just align your body and make everything "right" inside of you. They are called LIU WEI DI HUANG WAN--and I take 8 pills twice a day. I am only taking these b/c I am no longer doing IVF.

I have continued to do the acupuncture and I will probably do acupuncture and herbs for about another month (I am just waiting for my af to arrive. I've never really been late--even after my other ivf treatments. My last ivf cycle was in Feb But the last few af, I've been anywhere from 1-3 days late. I thought that the acupuncture would have kept me on track, but apparently not). Anway, once I get af I will moniter my ovulation once more and continue w/ af and herbs until July. If I get af, I think I am done w/ this journey and if I don't get it then I will attribute my success to tcm.

Good luck to you!!!

symptoms...now there is a funny word these days! I can't tell what is what anymore w/ all the meds!

e/r and e/t went well - thanks for asking. we were lucky to put 2 high quality embryos in so we are hoping for the best. Little frustrating b/c same thing happened last cycle and a BFN and they can't really say why...I am much calmer this cycle though and feel physically better too - AP tomorrow at 10am - can't wait...

Take care!!

I am hoping that all goes well for you! It's a fustrating rollercoaster ride, but by the time the 2nd ride comes around, you know what to expect and how to do things differently. If I recall your nurse wasn't exactly the most helpful.

Anyway, good luck to you!

As suspected, af arrived (had all the symptoms like cramping and total PMS) .... I don't really hold any faith that tcm alone will help in this endeavor (after all I tried naturally for many years w/ no luck), but figured I would have nothing left to lose and would be worth a try anyway. I will continue w/ the herbs and acupuncture for a little while longer. I will pay attention to my ovulation date, which should be around June 19 and then continue until my next af will arrive--right around July 3 or 4. If it doesn't work, I am going to give up on this. Don't get me wrong--I think it's a good idea IN CONJUNCTION w/ IVF, but don't really think it'll help w/ me conceiving naturally. I do think there's benefits to doing this, but it gets expensive and there's really no scientific proof it'll help me.

I had my first ac session today and I felt so good afterwards - I just had this overall sense of well being. My acupuncturist has me taking dietary supplements like flaxseed oil and probiotics. I will also start herbs soon that are designed to help with my liver function because I do have liver issues. I think I have about 2 months before I will start my next ivf cycle, but not really sure - I will find out on 6/18 when I meet with my RE. My last cycle didn't make it to transfer because they retrieved 3 eggs, 2 fert. but poor quality.

I haven't really been posting on any boards lately - but I just did a quick catch up session to see how everyone is doing. Hang in there to all those who are going through a tough period...........

Hi everyone!!!Not much new w/ me. I am still doing tcm. My doctor said that I should give it one more month--and if nothing happens after next ovulation then to stop doing acupuncture and just to do herbs--after doing this since March, he feels that my "insides" should be good. I think that sounds about right. I won't know about my af until right around the 4th. then I should ovulate right around mid-July.

I really do like the acupuncture--it's so relaxing, but at the same time, really no use for me to continue and spend $ if it's not working. so, I will will probably continue w/ these herbs for a little while longer probaby until the fall. then, I think I will move on.

I am going to volunteer at a hospital and looking for employment. W/ each passing day, I get over having no kids just a little. While I am disappointed, I have come to realize it's not the end of the world and that life does go on. Things could be a lot worse--I could live in one of those flooded towns and have no home or be really sick, etc. I am not dwelling over it like before. It's out of my hands and I figure what is meant to be is meant to be. Like I said, not that it's still not a disappointment, but finally looking to live my life.

Dakota,

My AP told me that there is no real benefit to AP during the first 2 trimesters. She said that women usually just come in when they are feeling tired or sluggish. Other then that she said there is benefit in the 3rd trimester as it can help in the preparation for labor and delivery. I am sure there are many differing opinions since it seems there are for everything else.

Dakota she actually gave me a big hug and let me know how my BETA goes and give a call if I feel tired. That was after my last treatment 4 days after ET.

Hi Dakota,
My acupuncturist just got back from a fertility seminar last week and they told her that after conception you should still have acupuncture once a week to keep your lining healthy. I haven't seen her yet since she got back, but when I do, I'll let you know what she has to say.
