No Shell, I'll take snow in June if I could get it...I suppose you're right though - less chance of 'accidents' - I was continually falling on my backside last year!

Speaking of accidents - oops about the car. :( Good job you're getting a new one and it wasn't yours he reversed into! Now that would have been catastrophic

We only did the spit cystic fibrosis test - and only because they could have ruled things out on a scan. I didn't see the point in the Down's test as they told me there was a good chance of getting a false positve because I'd bled and I figured we were stressing enough so we decided just to have a bit of faith. Anyway, having m/c last year and waiting 6 years for this, I don't honestly think I could have had an amnio or made the decision to terminate. I know I'm worrying too much about the folic acid thing - I mean they'd have put me on it immediately I think, but you're right, when it's something you want so bad and gone through so much for, anything and everything stresses you out. :(

Yeah, we took the dog for walk down Portobello beach - bright but cold. Bit knackered but not as much as the dog it seems  , but can't make myself sleep in the afternoons yet.

What have you been up to? (apart from twitching the curtains and watching the neighbours hee-hee  ) Don't worry girl, it'll be you soon - probably your whole street is watching out for you :D !!!!

Zoe x

P.S was in Asda this morning and bought a couple of things for my hospital bag :o Boy, did I have to persuade myself to do it! Wow, I'm actually going to have this baby soon :D :D :D

Hi Zoe,

We do worry about things but its only natural to worry. I just wondered if you had the tests done. I didn't have them, but like Lee says to me if the tests come back high risk what would I do, it would just worry me throughout the pregnancy. He said we have waited for a baby so long, we couldn't of terminated and we couldn't of had an amnio and risked m/c and he did have his points.

That was nice you going for a walk, least your getting some exercise, and they say that is good. To be honest how I have been suffering with my back I ain't been able to make it far. I am always usually out on a Saturday shopping with my Mom but Lee didn't want me to venture out today but I suppose that is because of me being overdue.

Your right in what you say, I have been up the windows to see if any news on my neighbour having the baby but ain't heard nothing yet.

I have some period pains that keep coming and going, but been having them for a while now. I just want to see my baby now.

What did you get for your hospital bag? its amazing the amount of things that need to be brought to go in them ain't it?

Oh well suppose I best let you carry on.
Love

Good morning! :D

Your Lee sounds like a good sort - just like my Steve! We didn't do the tests for the same reasons...

Period type pains arre supposed to be a good sign - I think baba is getting herself (or himself - still think it's a girl!) ready to meet you both. Bet you baba'll wait til you get the new car so s/he can travel in style and see the snow at the same time :D :D :D !!!! hee-heee

Hardly got anything for my toilet bag if I'm honest - still trying to not test fate. However, it was really toiletries for me, toothpaste, shower gel, tissues, vaseline for my lips (envisaging much dryness!!!!! - they're a nightmare anyway) and face wipes for freshing up. I thought I did quite well really... My target for this week is to buy a couple of front opeing nightdresses, but they all seem to have cartoon characters on them and I don't want to spend a fortune on something that may get badly stained ( :( pardon the expression) or something I won't wear again as I'm a PJ person when lounging about myself)...Was wondering about socks, and wondered if the stripey 'toe' socks Steve bought me would put the midwife off with laughing :D 8) !!

You're right though, it's an expensive business. Did you see the bags in Mothercare for £45 !!!!!!

Anyway, hope you're not feeling too bad today. I'm later this morning so I'm off to have brekkie....

Hi Zoe,

Well I am even later today, mind had some breakfast and still lounging round in my pj's. Lee has just done the hoovering, and I am going to get myself ready and I am going to do some ironing. Well it looks a lovely day today theres blue skies but I guess it would be a little nippy outside, Lee as the central heating on but to be honest I am so warm, but they say that anyway when your pg you get warm quicker.

Well I have just said to Lee I would do the ironing and the go to Mothercare and pick up a couple of suits for the babies that was born the weekend, but he looked at me and said I couldn't go. He doesn't want me to go out on my own incase something happens.

Oh Zoe I can't believe you didn't get much for your hospital bag, its such a nightmare trying to remember what needs to go in there though isn't it? Mine is done now and whatever I have forgot to put in Lee will get it for me because we only live 10 minutes away from the hospital which is great really.

I know exactly what you mean about the bags being pricy in Mothercare, I saw the ones £45 and I thought no way I ain't paying that. I did pick one up in Mothercare which is lovely, its black and it has a place to store a couple of bottles and it keeps the bottles warm for a bit. Then there is a changing mat and also like compartments to put wipes etc.... and I paid £25 for that. All expense isn't it, but hey it will all be worth it.

What you up to today? How is Steve?

Anyway think I have gone on enough as per usual, thats me all over!! talk for Britain

Hope to hear from you soon.
Love
Shell.

Hello, hello, hello

Steve is fine ta very much. We've just been out with the dog again for a walk by the river, then visited some friends. Your Lee and my Steve seem to have a lot in common re: us not doing anything. Nice isin't it?! Steve'll be exactly the same. i'm due around his birthday so he'll not be drinking he says, and at night he's started asking me 'can a have a beer or do you feel you'll go into labour tonight'? !!!! LOL

I was so blue this morning for some reason. Only sleeping for 3 hr intervals at night max and it's doing my head in - mind you, body preparing and all that.

Hey, don't tease about the hospital bag - at least I started  LOL. Remember, I've got 8 weeks left... Mind you, I'm just back from my friends who have 2 little girls - she had pre-eclampsia with both and had both about 37 weeks, but her first labour was 2 hours in total, and the second one was 3!!!!!!! I like that idea - she tore with the first as she was so fast, and said the stitches took longer to do than the actual birth  Maybe I'll get the bag sorted in a couple of weeks :D

That Mothercare bag sounds like a good deal - I must look. We didn't order one with the pram as the one that matched it looked too small..My sister got quite a nice one in John Lewis for about £30, but I can't be bothered going all the way into Edinburgh for a nosey - the last time we did, I forgot to look!!!

Anyway, good luck with the ironing girl!! I said to Steve that I ironed for the first ten years, he 's doing the next!! hee-hee (so now we buy non-iron clothes :D :D :D
Take it easy this afternoon!
Z x

P.S I like you talking for Britain - I feel a 'bond' in that respect!!! Who'll gas with me when you go and have this baba??!! :(

Hi Zoe,

Well that sounds so refreshing you saying about walking the dogs by the river how lovely. What sort are your dogs?

Its great that we can get Lee & Steve to do all the work, we best make the most of all this pampering because once babies are here I guess we will have to get into a routine and everything else will get back to normal.

You should make sure your hospital bag is packed because you never know. God I can't believe how short the labour was, that is so impressive, I wish that would happen to me. I just have this feeling when I go into labour Lee will be at work and it takes him half hour to get home + he needs to get someone to meet him to take the milk truck on etc.... so I do get nervous about that.

Yeah make sure you have a look at that hospital bag I was telling you about, its a new one that they have had in, i'm happy with mine.

What sort of pram you had? The pram I have had it didn't come with the bag so I had to buy a seperate one. Mine is one of these 3 in 1 travel systems and its like a charcoal grey with a slight red trim round the outside, and the handle as a temperature thing on it. It's at my Sisters ATM but when we pick the new car up on Tuesday we are going to fit the car seat into it because we need that really with having the baby. The hospitals don't let you out until they have checked the car seat is in the correct working order.

Well I eventually got myself ready, but would you believe Zoe I never done the ironing. I will do it tomrrow least it gives me something to do when Lee is at work. I have the dryer on atm trying to get some things dry, the thing is you can't dry anything outside in this weather.

Anyway again I have gone on, when I have bab I will still come online, I'm not saying I will be on as much as I am now but I will hopefully still be about, its great us having a chat like we do, we should swap email addresses as well.

Love
Shell.

Hey there,

Only got one dog (Cassie)- she's a cross collie/alsation, but also have a cat (Oscar) who thinks he's human and is the most uncat like cat in the world. He needs constant human company, hates going out unless it's sunny and rules the dog unbelievably, even though he's about a tenth of her size!! :D

I know, I know about the bag mum!!!! I will do it. And stop worrying about Lee not getting home - he will do. It's rare they say for first labours to be quick and lets face it, your baba not into rushing is s/he?!! :P ...you'll be fine, and it's especially good that you're only 10 mins from the hospital. We're only 20 mins away on a clear run, but at key times, there's a very busy huge roundabout that traffic can be a nightmare at, so I suppose that's my 'worry' - don't fancy giving birth there :?

The pram we've ordered is the Jane 3 wheeler - and like yours it's got it all!! Not only that it's racing red  Ah well, at least people will see us coming... :D It hasn't got anything on the handles which I think is a good idea _ I'll have to find out if you can get that sort of thing as accessories. The good thing is the car seat goes totally flat so travelling up North on longer journey's will be good.

Good girl about the ironing :D I like the idea that you didn't do it. and the email addresses is a good idea - ours is stevezoe@scotstownab.freeserve.co.uk.

Do you ever go on MSN messenger????? Hope you sleep well tonight.

Hi Zoe
Its your 2nd Mom here    ha ha you did make me laugh when you said ok Mom. Your buggy sounds great, its ideal that it can be lied flat when travelling. They say with these car seats that you shouldn't keep a baby in them longer then one hour not sure if you have had heard this as well.

Thanks for your email address, I must write it down somewhere else I will be saying to you that I have lost it :? cus I'm a nightmare like that.

I did sleep really well, I did get up for a wee every hour but then I went straight back asleep which was great. Lee went to work at 02:00 this morning so I had the whole of the bed to myself.

Yeah I do go on MSN all the time, so if you do you can add me to your contacts mine is warkie@hotmail.com

What's the weather like there Zoe? it looks like its going to snow here, but they ain't forecast it today but they have forecast us 6" for tomorrow. I don't want it to come tomorrow though because we are picking up our new car.

Anyway I suppose I best go and get ready because have to go up town when Lee gets in from the bank to sort some bits and pieces out.

Love

Hi Mum!! :D

You'll be impressed - I bought maternity pads, breast pads, a cheapy buttoned nightie and a facecloth - phhewww (and really only cos my own mum was having a go as well this morning!!) Also spoke to my sister last night and she's sending me a couple of Kristian's newborn baby grows and vests to my M-I-L's, so I'm getting there :D :D :D I'm just back, so I'm knackered now!

Yeah, my sister had read about the car seat thingy - however did people manage in the past?! Anyway, that was the main selling point because of going up North - also Kristian sleeps in his rather than the moses basket (which I've also arranged to get of her as well as the baby bath) :D

We woke up to much peeing down of rain this morning :( :( and it doesn't feel cold enough to snow, but we'll see. I'll be gutted if it doesn't come. Even my mum had none this morning, so don't worry, it's not on it's way down yet - you'll be ok to get the car!!

Take it easy this afternoon

Hi Zoe,

Well wasn't about much yesterday afternoon to be honest, I did have some pains but then come this morning they have gone again. I think the little one is playing mommy up.

I am glad you managed to get some things for your bag, the thing is if you get them now least you won't have to rush round at the last minute getting everything.

Oh well we don't have any snow either and to be honest looking at the skies it doesn't look like we will have any. Nice blue skies but I bet you its so cold outside.

I am so pleased because we are going to pick the car up today, but we can to get some mats for the car as well so we will making a trip to Halfords.

Did you have a nice sleep?

I suppose I best go and log off because I need to phone my Mom, we was out last night, our neighbour come out of hospital so we went and saw her baby and he is lovely. Then our nephews girlfriend come out as well so we went and saw her and she is beautiful. She has to go back to hospital though the baby does because they say there is something wrong with her hip, so they are a little worried.

Have a nice day.

Hey, hey, hey
:D
Haven't been online much as Steve's had a lot of work to do, but I'm back!

Anyway, how you feeling Shell? Any more pains. You've not answered many posts today, so is that a sign? :D Hope you're taking it easy anyway.

So, what's the NEW CAR like???? :D Bet it's good - are you doing the 'I'll drive you' bit (you know, even when someone asks to go to the loo?? LOL

Had my last antenatal class this morning - and I've decided I'm on for it all now :D :D (not much choice really LOL). I was sitting opposite the window, and before I had gone I'd sent my mum an email complaining of the lack of snow. Well, as we sat there, the snow piled down and you couldn't even see the buliding across the road- mind you, although it snowed for the 2 hours, there's not much - a couple of cm or so - I think it was the wind that made it look worse - a real snowstorm....Yipeeee. Flaming blue skies now, so that's it I think. :( :( I was hoping for at least a foot or so, but no chance!!!!!

Anyway, I'm waffling now as usual. Take it easy!

Hi Zoe,

Well we can waffle together, hee hee, I have been logging onto MSN hoping you'd be about but not catched up.

I have been about but had my Mom & Dad here for a couple of hours which was nice. I am sat here typing to you and just eating some fruit gums and a little bit of my filling has come out so I will abandon the pack now and not eat anymore.

Well we still have snow here, it did knock off for a while and blue skies appeared and it got rid of all the snow on the ground but now we have a layering again.

Well still no sign of baby but I am getting period pain and the tops of my legs feel heavy but apart from that I feel very well.

The car is lovely Zoe, but to be honest I haven't drove it yet and I don't want to drive it just want to go careful. Lee drove it and he said it's lovely to drive so I will just take his word for it.

Did your last antenatal class go ok?

Hope to hear from you soon, and hope Steve isn't working too hard.

Love
Shell.

Shell, I think MSN are scared of us cos whenever I log on, you're not!! :( For two wafflers, you'd think we wouldn't miss each other...

Yeah, my last antenatal class went fine - although I was watching the snow out the window more than listening. I'm quite glad I'm behind the others, as those that only have a week or two to go are beginning to get the wind up them so to speak because of all the talk so close to their time, but I'll have forgotten it all by then :D hee-hee

Glad the car is good. Best not going out in it in this weather...God, Lee must be freezing his bits off in this weather having to get up so early. :( I think steve is glad he can work from home when it's like this.

Your legs?? It seems every bit of your body is giving you trouble except the bit you want to!! Get Lee to give you a good old massage...Never mind, the week is passing by. Are you excited or nervous still?? I'm still waiting in anticipation :D

I'm off to the Dr's tomorrow morning to sort out this flaming blood test lark. I'll let you know... (if he doesn't confuse me more that is!!!)

Hi Zoe,

Well checked on MSN and you wasn't about, but one of these days I will catch you online. Like you say for the amount of talking we do surely we should of got hold of each other by now.

I am glad everything went well with your last class, mind if you was looking out the window at the snow I bet you don't remember it all.

To be honest I am very nervous now about the birth, I think because of Sunday creeping nearer in one way I wish I would just go into labour myself but come Saturday night I probably won't sleep I think its worse knowing your going into hospital to be started off.

It must be lovely for Steve when he wants to work from home, least he can stay indoors. Lee does get cold bless him, mind I got up at 03:00 with him this morning and done him some hot water to pour over his car and then waved him off at the door, I just can't sleep.

Please let me know how your bloods go, hope all goes well.

Love
Shell.
