I just did my first Lupron injection. This is the 2nd time that I have done IVF. I put the shot in my arm, but now I am second guessing myself. It is the weekend so I can't call the nurse. Somebody help? I have read stomach, arm or thigh.
I was told to only do them in the abdomen (SQ - under the skin, not in the muscle) but I have heard of other women doing them in the leg (front of upper leg). I've never heard of giving the injection in the arm. My pamphlet reads abdomen or upper leg.
Did you go into the muscle of your arm? Because Lupron is a SQ or subcutaneous injection meaning that it's to be given into the subcutaneous tissue/fatty tissue, not an IM - intramuscular injection.
I would check with your nurse/doc. I'm sure that the office has an after hours number with the doctor on call. I would call if I were you just to be sure.
Good luck to you and God Bless. I pray everything works out ok for you.

I also do lupron in my tummy. I dont know about the arm. I would just move the rest to your stomach and try and call the re's office, they must have someone on call who can answer your question. I dont think they mind being paged for stuff like that, they know how stressed out we all are. I dont think you hurt anything though, those needles are so tiny I doubt it went into your muscle. Try not to worry too much

Since these are SQ injections (into the fat) - stomach, leg, arm are all fine sites. Stomach is often the easiest to self inject, but arm is totally fine. I give SQ shots all the time to diabetic patients in their arms.
