I am new to this site and find you all very helpful - I just wanted to know if anyone had any experience with the Lister Hospital in Chelsea and whether anyone has had ICSI there. We are due to start at the end of Feb so am feeling very new and naive.
Welcome to the site, you will find that there is always someone to help, and the support is invaluable.
I am at the Lister and have been since Aug. I had to have a hydrosalpynix drained and a tube clipped before they started my IVF, I had IVF in Sept, unfortunately -ve, and am currently on the 2ww following FET on Sat.
I have found them to be very friendly and I feel comfortable and relaxed there. Dont know which consultant you are seeing but I have encountered all of the main 4 and I like Dr Marie Wren the best. She is very to the point but also encouraging. If I could find a criticism then they are a bit lapse with the admin side of things, but I guess rightly so thats not there priority!
If this doesnt work then I will be doing a fresh cycle asap so might see you there!
Any questions please ask!
hihi nicki
after 3 failed ici's treatments i moved to the lister and finally
got my +itve i dreamed of.
They are obviously a very large hospital with good results,
i have to agree with sue my only criticism was there admin.
Previously i was at a smaller clinic and i suppose u
lose that personal touch, but at the end of the day its the
+itve result u want.
Before my last treatment i started a supplement/vitamin
programme and also had accupuncture which im sure
helped me.
I realy wish u lots of luck with your treatment in feb and if
u have any more questions ask away.
Many thanks for your comments. I feel that we have chosen a good hospital with fairly high success rates - you're both right about the Admin side (when my partner and I went for our inital consultation early January they forgot to give him his sperm analysis and we were kept waiting for what seemed like an eternity)! Not an encouraging start but far be it from me to tell the experts what to do! However, our consultant was lovely (Dr Raif Faris) and I am also back there on 5th Feb for a tube "Clip" or removal (the only one I have left but hey ho it's redudntant anyway as it is blocked)! Hopefully that will go well and procedures start end of Feb/beginning March!
Sue, I see you live in West Sussex - as do I. Did you have the option of going to their satellite clinic in Hove for your ultrasounds etc or did you always go to London?
I am in East Grinstead, where are you? I always went to London as it is easier to hop on the train and go to Victoria from here. I know some girls on the site who have used the satelite centre though.
Only time it was a pain was last IVF as I was in danger of OHSS and had to have daily blood test while they'coasted' me 4 days on the run! Still I would have had to drive to the other centre.
Guess it just depends where you live?
I live in Broadbridge Heath, nr Horsham (only 30 mins from Hove) so would prefer to go there for the minor bits as London takes me at least one and a half hours by car some times even 2 hours!
Good luck by the way, I understand you are on your 2ww - pls let me know how you get on.
