Thanks for being so supportive. I just got the call and it is negative. Hopefully we will be able to try again one more time this summer. Good luck to ya'll, and I really enjoyed going through this with all of the support.

Brit - (((((HUGGGSSS)))) Sorry this didn't work out for you.

Rosario - How many to transfer a lot of times depends on your age and when they are transferred. For my RE if you are under 35 they transfer 2 on 3dt and 2 and 5dt. If over 35 they will transfer 3 on 3 dt and 2 on 5dt. If over 40 then they will transfer more. How many to transfer should be dependent on how you feel about multiples. I have read about 1 lady that just did a FET and transferred 3 embies. All 3 stuck and now she is PG with triplets. I have read about another lady that transferred 4 and got PG with Quads, one of the eggs split. So you want to really keep in mind about the multiples factor and what you would do if that possibly happened. For me I think i will be fine transferring 2 and having twins. 3 will scare the holy beezeus out of me so I will only do 3 if the RE highly suggests it. Good Luck with your next cycle.

Hi all,
I go in for my BW tomorrow. I haven’t really felt any strong symptoms, some sharp cramping pains on Saturday which I hope was implantation and I do feel like my BB’s are a bit bigger. But I’ve resisted the urge to POAS so we’ll see what happens.

Good luck to Tarabeltwo, and Turtle with your tests this week.

Jcurlygirl, keep up the hope. I agree with the others, don’t even compare anything to that Thurs. test. Baby dust for your BIG FAT positive!

Congratulations Chrissy143. Good luck with your US, I’m sure it will go just fine.

Sorry about your cancelled cycle Rosario. How many embryos does your doctor want you to implant? To_have_fun explained it well, the # seems to vary depending on age etc. We did 2. But I think someone somewhere on this thread did 4…

Brit, I’m so sorry. I hope you can get in one more cycle this summer.

Take care all.

COngrats on all the BFPs out there. Welcome all the March 2009 due dates =] The reason why I was asking about the amount of embryos is because my RE doesnt really decide for the patients. He guides them but in the end its the patients decision as long as it is rational. I am honestly open to implanting more if that is what it takes to higher my chance of getting a BFP. My RE will implant more than 3 if they are bad quality and up to 3 is they are of good quality. This is coming from his nurse. Everytime i have gone to the appt i forget to ask him. IN a way i never understood why REs have much say to decide on patients and say you should only implant 2 unless government has to say which in that case we have no other choice. What do you guys have to say? I would like to get more comment about this subject and how many embryos to implant.

Tarabeltwo - Wow, what a great beta number!! Congratulations!!. Do you have any more beta tests or is it straight to u/s?

Bell-02- Good luck tomorrow!! I can't believe you have th will power to resist POAS! Good job!!

Rosario - my RE suggests 2 for my age. I will only do 2 for my situation (above knee amputee) The thought of 3 scares the crap out of me.

My Re will only do 2 if you are under 35. That is all we wanted anyway for a couple a reasons.

1. I was worried about if I could carry more than 2. I am 5'2'' and don't know how much room I have.
2. I will have to go back to work so I was very concerned about just being able to afford daycare.
3. I believe the medical risks really increase from twins to triplets.
4. My cousin has 3 year old twin boys and we played with them for a few hours. Talk about energy!

Those were our choices but you really need to think about what you can handle as a couple. Best of luck with your decision. Follow your heart.

Jcurly and Brit - I am so sorry for your negatives. we all here can understand what you guys are going through. I just pray for you the strength of mind.

Brit-I also had a miscarriage in May this year at 7 weeks and I was really looking forward to your BFP. As they say. previous conception and miscarriage increases the chances of BFP the next time. Anyways, whatever happened, has happened, I am sending you loads of baby dust and wishes for your cycle in summer.

Take care both of you

Rosario -

About your question - I had 3# IVFs before and one FET. And everytime we transferred 3 embies. So excluding this time, because I am awaiting results, we have had 3x3x3x3=12 embies, out of which only one clicked last time. Unfortunately I miscarried.

So don't you worry about the numbers, all the three clicking in one time is a rare case. And when you are going through such a rollercoaster, you might as well strengthen your chances by transferring atleast two. And if you are really lucky!!! and God wants you to bless with triplets, one of the embies acn split and you still can have mutiples.

So just cross your fingers and get ready for the next cycle. :)

Brit and JCurlyGirl - So so sorry to hear you news. Hoping that you find the strength to work through the disappointment you must be feeling...wishing you both BFPs in the future!

Rosario - Sorry to hear about your canceled cycle...that is SO disappointing! I was so frustrated when my cycle was canceled...hopefully you will be able to start back up soon! I was struggling with how many to transfer, and I started a thread on the topic. A few ladies from the May/June board that I have cycled with posted with some great perspectives...you may want to read it. I utlimately decided on 2 because of my age (31), it's our first IVF, the cycle went smoothly (once we started!!), and we were doing 5-day blasts with excellent quality embies. The quality and day of transfer really does make a big difference, I think. Anyway - the thread is called "How many to transfer..." and it is probably on the bottom of page 1 or on page 2 now.

Tara and Chrissy - Congrats on your BFPs!! You both had AWESOME results!! Very very happy for you both!

I'm bored out of my gourd on bedrest!! One day left!!
