150 beta

Post by folistin »

Hi my wife had her blood test today and the doctor said that she was pregnant and that her beta was 150. I have been reading about it for a few days and I have notice that usually you have to go do a blood test every 2 or 3 days to see if your numbers are going up but at our clinic they just told her that she was pregnant and gave her an appoiment for july 23 for a ultrasound is this normal I though she was supose to repeat the blood test a few times?

When I did IVF with my son, my doctor did the same thing. I had and pregnancy test two weeks after egg retrieval then two weeks after that I went for an ultrasound to see if there was one of two babies. Some doctors just do things differently. Congratulations though on your positive. That sounds like a good number for a first beta!

Congrats to you and your wife!!!

I have heard of this. All clinics do things differently, some dont even do blood test, they tell their patients to take a HPT.

I have heard of re's doing this also, but I know I would go crazy. I would ask to go in a few days and have another beta just so I know its going up, only because I wouldnt be able to wait for the u/s. I guess it depends on how nuerotic you are  congrats to you guys!!

It's more common to do at least one more blood test before scheduling the ultrasound. Your clinic might have a criterion, such as hCG less than 50 or 100, where they would require additional blood tests before scheduling the ultrasound.

Congratulations.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.

Because that's a good HCG level, there would be no need to repeat Beta unless a prior history of early m/c. My clinic never did but I insisted due to my history and went weekly for the first 7 weeks until we saw the heartbeat(s) on u/sound.

Congrats and good luck!
