Hello Everyone,
I'm new here and also an IVF patient, I had a Saline Sonography a month ago to check and see any abnormalities in my Uterus,First Dr, (who did my Sono) said there is nothing to worry about but after 2 weeks my nurse called me that they have to do another Sono because the 1st one is irregular,. I actually saw the ultra sound myself and its actually almost smooth but in my mind i knew there is something, because that day my period is supposed to start and so i'm thinking that it is my uterus lining is a little thicker and its ready to flow and thats why my Dr. (the Director of OB-gyn,) wants me to do it on my Follicular Phase, not really worried but anxious what's the next news.
Does anyone has the same issue like mine. I know if your an IVF patient you have to go through Saline Sono (to check if everything is okay inside our Uterus) and to see if you're qualified. Am I right?

I wish I could be of great help to you, but all I have for you is that a sonohystergram (SHG) is routine for IVFers. Well, I should say for most clinics they do a serious of testing, HSG (die tube test), SHG (saline), physicals, some even have you do more intense testing like EKG, cardiographs and also want you to do a 2-4 hour counseling and even see a genitics counseler. I had to go through all of this twice since I switched clinics.
I hope all is well and you can start your IVF journey soon. Good Luck!!
I had a saline sono because the dr thought he saw a uterine polyp - when he did the saline sono it was very clear that I did have one. I had it removed 6 weeks ago and am now on my stim meds. Good luck!
My doctor scheduled a saline sonogram for me, but then changed the date because they realized I'd be nearing my period on the first date and they wanted as thin a lining as possible. I was actually just finishing my period on the new date, so I guess they got what they wanted. Hopefully it is just because they want to see a thinner lining and not because there's anything to be worried about. Good luck!
