anyone at st. Mary's manchester?

Post by Claire »

Hiya,
I was just wondering if anyone here is being treated at St. Mary's in Manchester. I've been on the waiting list for 18 months now and I phoned the hospital today to see how things were going - waiting list wise.
Anyway, like they always say, the list's is 2 to 3 years.
But, a couple of girls I know were referred for treatment after about 15 to 18 months - so I'm hoping it will be the same for me.
Has anyone else been lucky enough not to have to wait two years?
Thanks!
love clairex :)

Sorry to hear you are waiting so long...its so unfair but even within one clinic waiting times can vary because it depends on the health authority funding your treatment :x
We have finally got to the top of the list at St Mary's and are currently on 2ww from today, but I did get impatient waiting for two years... it doesn't help that if you can afford a cycle privately whilst you are waiting that they stop your NHS funded attempts.
Try and keep positive, I know how fustrating it is!

Hi Clare

I am at st mary's and started tmt on 27th dec after a nearly 4 yr wait, i was due to start last may but was taken ill on holiday (which was suppose to be a break before we began tmt !!)
When i 1st went on the list in dec 2000 they told me that we would have to wait 3yrs, i think it all depends on the health auth thats funding it.
I am still injecting, i seem to be taking a long time for things to be doing there magic, but hopefully it will all work out in the end.

Good luck clare for when you do start

Hi Clare

I am at St Mary's and we were told it was a 3 year waiting list, we only had to wait for about 18 months at the most, when we got the letter to ask us to go for our 1st consultation i thought it was a wind up but it wasn't! we had 3 cycles of iui last year the 1st one had to be abandoned the other 2 were unsuccessful, we haven't had treatment since august last year but that is because at the moment i don't feel strong enough but we'e hoping to start again soon.

Hope you manage to get your treatment soon

Love
Jackie
