hi gang.

great to hear from you all again, have just logged on after a long
time {feels like ages}. well, i am pleased to tell you all that all is well, no more scares.
did get a shock on seeing the new layout of the site, quite cool...
my sickness has eased up a lot, still have an odd day, but thats the days when i eat chocolate!!!!
i met with our consultant this week and they have decided because i am a "hypertension patient" that i will have all my check-ups with her rather than shared care, i also spent the day in hsp for hourly b. p checks, they are fine so far, and this monday we get to meet "prof desweet" {name spelt wrong} for my B.P and my heart murmur and we have a scan on the 28/01.
as for getting a bump!!!! are you mad???? i have had a BUMP since i.v.f treatment, app, its due to my ovaries still being so big....
i am 18 weeks today, should i be feeling any kicks yet?
is everyone still real tired? i start swimming for antenatal tomorrow night and antenatal yoga on thurs a.m. thats of course if stay awake for these things. im not allowed the gym or tennis, and i really begrudge D.H going to play tennis.
well, im going to go now and raid the fridge, love pork pie wrapped in salami and topped with tomato, cucumber, and coleslaw, or corned beef wrapped on a banana, or a brussel sprout sandwich,
anyone got any fetish? and nikola i mean food!!!
speak soon, love jackie

Hey jackie

At last, bloody hell girl you had me worried!!! I should have realised you were just dragging out the drama........I hope your baby doesn't make you wait as long!!!!

I'm glad you are feeling ok. I'm like you I had swollen ovaries and a few cysts so my swollen tummy from tmt didn't really go away, it just got hard and grew and grew and keeps growing!!!

18 weeks - wow. How exciting. I'm glad the sickness has stopped - its lovely isnt' it. You'll find you get more energy now that has stopped and you shouldn't feel so tired and if you do, so what, put your feet up and watch some crappy afternoon movie!!

I hope you haven't been doing any excessive hoovering/housework! You know that is against the rules!!

Your FOOD fettishes sound foul - give me chips and a Jam Roly Poly chaser any day!!

Welcome back Jackie

I was getting worried about where you had got to and it's good to see things have been ok.

I am 18 weeks tomorrow and it has been a very long 18 weeks. I have only just started to get a bump which is quite exciting. My sickness has subsided to almost nothing though like you get the odd day. I had another bleeding scare at 16 weeks where I had to stay in hospital for the night. The worry never seems to stop does it?

Your cravings sound revolting but each to their own. I have just eaten satsumas the whole time and jacket potatos.

Lets hope it's not too long for us to see what we are having. Are you going to find out when you have your 20 week scan? I'm not, I love the wondering.

Take care

Love Dagny x

hi all
back again... had my 20 week scan, all very well with baby. she is kicking like mad,
nikola, did you not drop with tiredness? i cannot last for more than 1 and half hours and then i have got to sit down for the afternoon, i am really suffering with backache and tiredness and the usual heartburn and constipation{any cures?} i have started physio for my back and they have given me exercises to do....
dagny have you had your scan yet? we already knew from our c.v.s. that we have a little girl, and i think those results are accurate. but it was brill to see her dancing around inside me, we cannot think of any names at all,
any one hear from val? i wonder do they have a 20 week scan also?
we have not bought one thing yet, is nikola the only one who has it all done?
are you all putting the babies in your rooms/ or are you puttting them in their nursuries?
we are house hunting, so i wont let john decorate the room as he will then sit back on his laurels and we wont have moved by christmas, let alone the summer.
my hospital are really good, i cant have shared care cos of the B.P, so they are keeping a close eye on me, i went to see prof de swuet for this last week, and he has arranged for me to have a doppler scan at 24 weeks, which checks out the blood flow in the uterus and shows any signs of the pre-eclampsia starting again, i will have another at 28 weeks and so forth, also they have started me on f, acid again as its good for this cond, also a aspirin a day again for blood clots, and to top it all up have increased my B.P tablets from 1 to 3 times daily.
so in all, there is a lot been done and i feel rather confident this time around.
i really feel her kicking alot and this feels really good.
i have read in many places that i.v.f. singletons dont go full term.. any one with more info on that?
o.k have to go now as im so hungry again, and i get so low without food every 1-2 hours, i have put on 16lbs.... any other weights? is this normal? how are you all doing?
bye for now, speak soon
love to all

Hi Jackie

Glad you are well and that your 20 week scan went well. It must be such a relief to get that scan over and done with. I am still waiting for mine. My hospital do them at 23 weeks so I have to wait till Feb 19th! I did get to see the baby on Tuesday albeit briefly when I saw one of the antenatal registrars. He/she seems quite active but I don't feel it very much at all. I am hoping that will change in the next few weeks. I suspect that as I've got so much scar tissue from operations and the nerves haven't repaired that well it is the reason I am not very sensitive in that area. We are not going to find out what we are having at our scan.

I still get very tired but not as bad as the first 12 weeks. I haven't gone back to work either, a decision I made after my second big bleed at 16 weeks. I wasn't going to put my pregnancy at risk and my DH was happy for me not to go back either which helped.

I have bought a few things for the baby but not as much as Nikola! She seems so organised. We have to renovate and decorate the nursary so we haven't got anywhere to store too much stuff at the moment.

As for weight gain I have put on 7lb. I lost a stone and a half when I was really sick at the beginning and now I am putting on about 1lb a week. I am now 11 stone. I am not eating copious amounts just yet but I'm sure that will change.

I hope your back isn't giving you too much grief. I have got bad tooth ache and my need it removed which I am not looking forward to. Have you tried prune juice for your constipation or eating pears?

Take care of yourself and your precious little girl.

Love Dagny xx

hello Jackie/Dagny

lovely to hear from you both! jackie, glad the scan went ok. Its a real milestone isn't it. I keep setting little targets in my head now, thinking, if I get to 24 weeks (which is only 2 weeks away) the babies are considered legally viable and have a 50% chance of survival. Then I think if I can get to 28 weeks, they have a 90% chance of survival and anything after 32+ weeks is a bonus!

My organisiation skills are practising for when these two arrive, because if I don't have some sort of organsiation I think I'll drown in a sea of nappies and feeds!! We still have lots to buy - we haven't bought the cots or the double buggy yet - so still lots to do!

We have our new windows going in next month and then the decorator can start on interior decorating - rapidly running out of time!!! Fortunately our attic is converted and we have two bedrooms up there that we don't use so all our baby stuff is up there until I'm ready to unpack.

I don't know how I stayed on my feet last weekend - I don't think I could do it again. I'm still managing to walk the dogs for two miles a day (even in this really treacherous weather!!), so I guess I'm staying relatively fit. Except compared to you two, I've put on much more weight - I'm now 2 stone heavier than before I was pregnant AND I had put on half a stone when I started the tmt, so I'm 2st 7lbs heavier than normal!!!!

When I went to see the midwife this week she measured me and said I was the equivalent to a singleton at 29 weeks!!! Lets hope I've got two big babies growing inside, just incase they have to be delivered early because the placenta praevia thing.

As for constipation, I can recommend a good curry - usually flushes my system out or a more healthy option - I eat loads and loads of grapes. They seem to do the trick too.

Don't you both feel like its going soooooo quickly. It only seems like five minutes that we were all congratulating each other and still in shock from being pg. Now we are talking about what to buy and what we will have and call them! Its amazing.

I hope you both have a great weekend and catch up again soon.

JAckie great news re the scan and glad they are looking after you so well.
I am confident they know what they are doing.
We have things before from Oliver but I am waiting until 20 weeks for the massive spend - assuming there is any money in the depleted funds as ahve not worked since he died!
Nik - how efficient - look at the nipper double on the kiddicare site - it is supposed to be good - fits thro doors and might be the trick as you have the bug a boos for posing!
Dagny - I am sure that you will get all the prods etc you want soon so make the most of the peace.
IVF babies are no different to "normal" for length of gestation! I think!
Love to all

Tracy

I've seen the Nipper double on the kiddicare website and its v.v.v.cheap and in the sale! We are off to look at double buggies today at some pram shop near us, will do a test drive and update you on what I thought!

Hope you are feeling better today!
