Hi Sara,

Everything is going pretty good here. My belly is getting larger and larger and the babies are dancing. I am just enjoying it all. We go for our 2nd level ultrasound on Wednesday.

How is everyone else doing?

We have our 2nd trimester screening next Tuesday and will be finding out if it's a boy or girl. I can't wait to find out. I am very much a planner and need to know. We have purchased nursery furniture and I'm ready to buy other things!!!

My belly is stretching each day. I get weird pains but then they go away. The Dr said it's the uterus etc stretching making room....I also feel little flutters at first I didn't realize that it was the baby moving.

I hope everyone is feeling well!!!

Great to hear from all of you!
I cant wait to feel movement, too.
And I am a planner, as well, and couldnt wait to find out what we were having...and I am happy it is two girls bc somehow it seems like I will have to buy less?!
I love the land of nod website. They have cute bedding and nursery items. Pottery Barn Kids has always worked well for us too. And their stuff lasts forever, which is nice.
Night Night for now!

Karen,
CONGRATULATIONS!! Wonderful news!!! We are having two girls, as well. And I never even let it cross my mind that there could be two girls in there for some reason (there are SO many boys in my husbands family..my mother in law convinced me it wasnt possbile...).
I posted on Double Trouble bc my quad screen came back with an increased risk for Downs...always scary! Not a HUGE increase (1 in 85) but still scary after everything we went thru up until this point to think we might have another hurdle! They did not factor in my results from the n/t at 12 weeks, which came back excellent, so I guess they are re-calculating and calling me tomorrow. I am not going to do an amnio, but we might do a high res ultrasound with a specialist if something is concerning. I really dont feel like anything is wrong so I am going with my instincts for now! (PS note that with twins these tests come back "false positive" for increase all the time.)
Jennieswa...cant wait to find out what you are having!!

Thank you Sara!! Congrats on your sweet little girls too! Like you, I didn't think that we had 2 girls in there. When I day dreamed about the babies, I always invisioned at least 1 little boy. Now I am day dreaming about 2 little girls.. :D We feel very blessed.

I am sorry to hear that there may be another hurdle for you. There is a good chance that the quad screen is incorrect. I will keep you and the babies in my prayers.

I don't feel to good about the amnio either. Immediately after meeting with the Genetic Counselor, I knew we weren't going that route if the results were not in our favor. We just didn't want to take that risk. The high resolution ultrasound is a good idea. Definiitely go with your instincts and continue to enjoy your pregnancy. And you are correct about the false positves. Things will be just fine. Stay positive.

Take Care,
Karen

Sarah & Karen - Congraulations on your twin GIRLS!!! Girls are so much fun to shop for.

I had my quad screen last week and our big US is on the 29th. We won't be finding out the sex of the baby. We didn't find out with Brooke and loved the excitment. I def won't be doing an amnio. After losing two of the babies I'm not going to do anything to jepordize this little baby.

I hope everyone is feeling good.

Sarah-I'm really sorry to hear about your quad results but there are so many false positives that I'm sure your babies are healthy. When is your high resolution ultrasound?

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Glad we got a little ctaching up in on this board!
My u/s with the specialist is Thurs and I am just praying all looks great and they dont recommend amnio. I just cant do that again! Too risky for babies no matter what they say!
Whats everyone else's next appts all about?

Thank you Heather!!! :D

Heather & Sara, I am praying that your next ultrasounds are wonderful.

We will be visiting my Peri in 2 weeks for another check of my cervix and to take a look at our Girls.

I hope to chat with you all soon. I am off to create something in my craft room.

Take Care,

Okay we just got back from our 2nd trimester screening..all looks great with the baby. The disappointing part was they could not tell us the gender! The baby is breech and the umbilical was covering it's "privates"...Now I'll have to convince my OB to do an u/s again....
