How to help being exhausted?

Post by Dakota »

As I sit and type this I am about to fall out of my chair any min. Does anyone have any secrets to getting more energy or to help being tired. I think a big part of my problem is between 1-3pm I cant stay awake and between 1-3am I cant sleep. Geese...

Anyone have any advice??

That's all a part of the 1st Trimester blues. When I was in my 1st Trimester, I slept just about all day every day. As soon as I got home from work I was out. DH would have to wake me up just for dinner. I would eat and go right back to sleep and sleep until my alarm went off in the morning. I thought something was totally wrong with me.

It was a good thing that he is a good man who loves to good and made sure that the baby and I at least stayed fed during that time. I hated to get up to eat that's how tired I was but I knew the baby needed it and I put my selfishness aside.

DH must be accepting of all of this in order for you to survive. I know mine probably felt like he lost me the 1st three to four months of pregnancy only to have me back for 2 1/2 months of the second trimester and it's starting all over again in the 3rd.

These babies better appreciate all that we have gone through to get their little buns here. I'll be 39 next month so I thought it was just old age reaching havick but from what I've been reading on this board, the young pregnant bucks are in the same situation as I so I don't feel too bad.

Sorry I'm not of any help, I'm in the exact same situation! It absolutely hits me like a mack truck at 1PM and seems to drag on for a good few hours. I also take a nap when I get home, from 30 minutes to an hour or so. I've been trying to get 8-9 hours of sleept at night as well, but I'm up around 3-4 times to pee!! I've read that eating snacks and exercising help the exhaustion, but that really isn't helping me so far. I think it's just part of the 1st (and 3rd) trimester, but I do feel a bit of a wimp

Angram- I did hear that eating every 2 hours, small meals helps and I found that I had one of the mini bags of popcorn about 45 mins ago and it helped a little, at least I am not falling over right now
It seems it hits us about the same time each day, girl you got two in there :o I just know it!!! I read that with twins you are twice as much as a singleton. Although I've never been peggers before so I cant compare.

Thanks for all the replys ladies. I am sucking it up the best I can, but I just didnt know if there was some secret out there that I didnt know about.

Dakota

I feel the same way about the exact same time each day. The afternoons are really hard to stay awake and concentrate and then in the middle of the night.

The idea of small meals does seem like a good idea.

Hope you and everyone elses feels better soon.

Dakota - you're cracking me up and I hope you're right, we really want two :) I'm down to just 5 full days of waiting, my goodness this is as bad as the 2ww.

Seems like the only symptoms I have as well are total exhaustion and using the restroom every hour. Today is the first day though that if I wait just a little longer between going, it absolutely hurts. Anyone else have that? Feels like your bladder could maybe explode or it's pushing on something?

Angram- I hear ya on the potty. I have to go every hour, sometimes twice an hour and it feels like I have to go SO bad and it starts to hurt with pressure, I get to the potty and maybe release 1/4 cup. R U kidding me?!?!?! I cut the liquids off at about 7pm and it helps at night, I only have to get up 1-2 times by doing so.

So when I got home yesterday I napped on the couch from 6:30-7:45 and went to bed at 7:45, slept until 9:30, got up got my PIO did some stuff anf was back in bed by 10pm!!! Man I needed that!!!
