My clinic is letting me choose b/w Crinone 2x/day or PIO shots.
I am doing a FET at the end of the month. On my last FET, which was BFN, I used vag suppositories (yuck).
I so need advice on what you ladies think is more effective.
PIO or Crinone.
This is our last try, so I want to give this cycle my "all".
Kim, I am on PIO shots, and they really aren't all that bad when you think about the possibility of a BFP (wouldn't do them just for fun, though!). The first couple weeks, they didn't bother me at all, then I started feeling deep bruising and serious discomfort 24-hrs a day. If you go with the PIO...ice the spot first then use a heating pad afterwards...I stated using the heating pad just the last few days, and it has helped a lot. I don't know which is more effective (or that there's a difference at all)...but it seems like about 2/3 of people are doing PIO (just based on what I read on message boards like this one).
Good luck, lady...fingers and everything crossed for you on your next try!

They say both are equally as effective BUT my Doc disagrees and says that injections is the way to go. I know its a little more pain but worth it when you have a little one:). Im doing the injections right now and really they arent that bad.
I've been using Crinone gel. I was randomized to it through a clinical study.
I'm currently 8 weeks 4 days and everything is going well.
I have no side effects from Crinone, other than discharge. It's pretty gross, but it will be over in 4 weeks. I've read that other women have suppository-related discharge too and it doesn't sound much worse than that.
I wont lie i hate the pio shot at first its fine but after a while it is pure hell but as my re explained it is more effective because it is going straight into your system verses the bill and taking time to absorb in the system. my other re just did suppostories and i got bfn this was my first time with this re and i used the pio and i got ia bfp i am 71/2 weeks pregant.
Am I the only one who has to do both????? Every night vaginal suppository before bed and every morning progesterone in oil shot to the but. I'd run around naked in Times Square if I thought it would help...we'll see what happens!
Personally I think the Progesterone shots in the upper quadrant of your buttock works best. Clearly, not pleasant for you or your partner, who has to administer, but you DO get used them and they are very EFFECTIVE!

I'll just add what everyone else already said. They work equally well. The difference is the pain in the rear versus the yucky discharge. It makes little or no medical difference to the outcome. That's probably why the doctor left it up to patient preference.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.
